A NEW REGIONAL POLL: page=poll/p=160402

Which nation should host the first every Cape of Good Hope International Summit (CGHIS2020)? Please refer to the below to see each betting nation's original comment when they submitted their bid as it will provide some context and reasoning why you may wish to vote for them.

Azulakas wrote:Azulakas is quite an isolationist nation, but as a final attempt at pushing the republic onto the world stage before his term is up, President Aquiaare decides to invite a delegation of each CGH nation to a "Grand Showcase" in hope of convincing the Azulakassian Congress to loosen up on foreign policy & trade. Anyone in the roleplay would have the opportunity to explore the capital of Azulakas, see the division in politics, or if they dare, sneak about the rules of the summit and cause an international incident. Will this see Azulakas become a larger player on the world stage? Or will it see a humiliating defeat of President Aquiaare?

Deuschmailt wrote:We in Deuschmailt have been pondering on whether to make an offer to hold the international summit, and have come to the conclusion of a solid yes. In spite of a civil war in Kollumbian land, our holy emperor would like to show how caring our people can be. It could be housed in Altefähr, the capital, or Zaghen, the housing of government. It would be harder to reach Altefähr, as on earth, but would be possible, and an adventure into the isle of Rügen, for foreigners at least. The offer of Zaghen, is only used as the political capital. Either would be fine, Deuschmailt out.

As nations like Monsone, Deuschmailt, Sparanoda, and Uno oscuro has recently done, if you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

If you want to see the previous poll about what kind of RP would regional nations like to see / take part in, or the RMB post in response that led us to this poll:

Since so many nations were interested in an international summit RP, I was curious which nations actually wanted to host an official one?

Please reply to this post if you are interested in being the host country for the first-ever, CGHIS (Cape of Good Hope International Summit), along with a short pitch for why the CGHIS is best held at your nation.

Candidates will be options for voting in the next poll where the nation with the most votes will get the privilege of hosting the CGHIS2020 at a time of their choosing (this year), along with some other RP responsibilities that help facilitate the CGHIS RP.

Hopefully, this is interesting to some nations on here, looking forward to everyone's pitch!

We would love to host the CGHIS2020.

We have thousands of slaves and well-equipped military to bow to your every whim and keep everyone in line, respectively. We don't have any of those pesky religious zealots or protesters here to bother visiting dignitaries. If they do appear, we will happily execute them for your enjoyment.

We would hold the meeting in our hot desert captial Boca Del Abismo where our mandatory nudity keeps everyone cool and our gambling industry provides hours of entertainment.

When the summit is over, don't even think about leaving as our border patrol will convince you of the benefits of staying.

Awesome bid!

I don't have a procedure so am not sure how to handle bids that are triggered post starting the poll. I like the region's head of RP Monsone to give his take on this.

It certainly is a good bid. And while WonGya may not be able to put it up as a poll option because of technical reasons, I'll certainly take the bid into consideration.

Their added value supports your international artwork stat. If you have epic and legendary cards, they are valuable enough that you can auction them on the market and have a chance someone will pay higher than the junk value for them. You can also junk cards for their junk value in exchange for money you can use in the market to bid on and acquire cards which can increase or decrease in value.

Lastly, it may be just fun to have cards of other nations in the game, maybe an interesting way to discover other nations, as well as learn what qualifies some nations to be considered epic, vs some are just common.

With RPs, I try to identify the start of near the start of a new RP as RP posts can go months and pages after. So the idea is if you can see the initial post, you can follow along by reading the posts after. Just a tip, to see the original post, click on the small square on the top right of each quoted post, then click on the context on the bottom of the page to see other posts before and after for the continuation of that RP.

The Aid passes out copies of a guide to the city and the Legislature's official dispatch on the security measures. (Linked Below)

"The first summit shall happen tomorrow morning, at the Legislative Garden just outside of the hotel. We'll make sure everyone is here and officially start off the event." repeats Aquiaare as many times as needed.

All foreign delegates and leaders are quickly rushed off to the Lightwave Hotel, a quite massive building, and are given rooms free of charge. Now will be the time to settle down in this new and strange nation of islands & sea.

The fleets are expected to warp in near a number of Kollumbian territories to help monitor the situation. The Vindication Fleet has been assigned to the Cape of Good Hope, and is expected to exit hyperwarp in lunar orbit tomorrow evening. Honojiwa is a small city located towards the middle of the Roxium/Bearded Dragones border. Recently the city has been the site of a strange phenomena that's randomly transforming its residents into different alien races that have been identified as being indigenous to a planet in solar system Cothica-Alpha 2 called Perim. At the moment this "disease" as the Roxium Pandemic Response and Control Center calls it, has so far remained isolated to Honojiwa and its immediate surroundings. As a precaution, all magrail services to Honojiwa has been suspended. Due to Honojiwa's location on the Roxium/Bearded Dragones border, all border crossings for both Gyotama and Zinnitaigo Counties have been closed.

Any nations listening to the airwaves may have noticed the sudden appearance of a new radio source broadcasting from The Roxium Federation Cape of Good Hope Territory Zulu Prefecture: a radio station called Radio Otaku. The very first thing said radio station plays is the third opening song from The Avatar Chronicles: Aang. The song starts off with a melancholic vibe using traditional Chinese instruments before instilling a feeling of hope as it evolves into an epic mixture of traditional Chinese and modern rock music with classic orchestral instruments thrown in for good measure. The song is sung primarily in Pogashanese, a traditional Roxium language best described as a mixture of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. The song also has some English in it. The name of the song is Ta-Persova, Hope for the Future!, by a Roxium band called Rosunda JAMMA.

Monsone wrote:And so, the RP begins.

Fall colors spread across Cape of Good Hope. It was a time to prepare for winter. Yet, in the northern reaches of Monsone, trouble was brewing.
For nearly two hundered years, the small province of Sarskreik had been a mainly agricultural region known for being pircturesque and remote. But, it was all to change.
One night, in the city of Sarkreik, when the streets were devoid of activity, and the streetlights cast erie glows, a loud boom was heard; a boom like no other. It ripped the air in half and then, a explosion of light. As if the sun had risen. The sky was iluminated by shades of white, yellow, purple, blue, red, and pink.
The citizens of Sarkreik rushed out to see the comotion, only to see their sky glowing in the night. Then, as misteriously as it had come, it dissapeared.

Ministry of the Interior-Serversvik-Next Day

Minister of the Interior, James Koftk sat silent as the report was given. His mouth was dry and being roused mere minutes after the event didn't help. As the oral reading of the report came to an end, James walked out of the room.
On his way out, James was tapped on his shoulder. Pivotting to see who had done it, James came face to face with the Minister of Defense, Adriana Galegikask. She had a stern look on her face, and just like James, she was exteremely tired.

"What do you think cause it?" Adriana asked shrilly.

"I don't know." James replied as he rubbed his face, attempting to stay awake. "All we know is that we've lost contact with the town of Santk Jamesh. " He added on.

"Well the MoD (Ministry of Defense) is formulating ideas ranging from conspiracy theories involving aliens and radiation to a plane crash." Adriana replied.

"Lets talk it over coffee." James stated as Adriana nodded in aproval and they walked away.

Santk Jamesh-Same Day

A woman, no older than 23 and about 5'4 looked around. Smouldering remains and smoke filled the vista, obscuring the beautifull views of the Techraij Mountains. She nodded as she continued to survey her suroundings. The Commander would be proud.

Then, another woman, similar in age, but of a height of 5'3 popped out of a small metalic pod that was smouldering. She looked tired, and a bit uptight. In hand was a small orb with swirling smoke inside. Upon tapping it twice, a pre recorded message began.

"The fleet wil arive in three months. In that time, learn all you can about this region. The intel will be crucial. All means of gaining intel are allowed, but if the governments of the region find out, we are doomed. If you fail, both of you will be fed to the hellhounds."

The message ended. Both women nodded at eachother. Little to their knowlege, a singe security camera had survived the blast, and had recorded said message.

Ministry of Defense-Seversvik-Same Day-Five Hours Later

All the ministers were exhausted. Having been awoken at 1:30 in the morning. Criticaly, most of the minister were concerned. The PM was rumored to be angry, and this could be bad, very bad.

Just then, Albert Pryesmaan (the PM), clearly invigorated by several espressos marched in with an odd smile on his face.

"Well, since you all heard the recording, you know what I will say. Plan, prepare, and notify the Cape of Good Hope nations. We've survived other space invasions, often worse. I'm certain we can survive this." Albert Pryesmaan stated, clearly not worried, but excited by the prospect of intergalactic war.

At 18:30 Seversvik time, all Monsonian embassies in Cape of Good Hope recieved the details regarding the incident and the protocol. Buy 00:00 hours, all nations had been notified.

Somewhere in orbit not far from The porsche islands.

Due to the New Sozin Order crisis and possible Elysium attack above Birmingham, Kollumbia, the Roxium United Armed Force has expanded its orbital patrols to encompass nearly the entire Cape of Good Hope. This includes a route that passes close to The porsche islands at an average altitude of 300 miles above the Earth's surface. During one of these patrols, something happens. (Start of the New Sozin Order RP, near the bottom of the page.)

R.U.A.F Cape of Good Hope Division 97th Ko-Lhou Fleet, 301 miles above The porsche islands territorial waters.

"Sector scan complete. No unusual signatures detected."

"Okay. Proceed to the final sector, then rendezvous with the Alrest Division 82nd Argentum Fleet and wait for further orders."

The Cape of Good Hope Division 97th Ko-Lhou Fleet is a small recon and patrol fleet consisting of mostly lightly to moderately armed battle cruisers and battle corvettes with a single Fuji-class Sub-Capital ship as the leader. The bulk of the battle corvettes are Galileo-class with the occasional Orion-class thrown in for heavy support fire, while the battle cruisers consists entirely of Nimbus and Yokai-class ships.
Aboard the Fuji-class Sub-Capital ship, the crew are going about their normal duties, such as general internal maintenance, keeping the ship from drifting off course, and making sure no hostile alien factions get anywhere near the Earth's surface. "Again, why are we stuck here instead of fighting the New Sozin Order?" asks a bored crew member. The captain, a veteran of the First Universal War, says "The Roxium Federation can't focus all its efforts on a single threat, especially when there's bigger threats out there such as War'Shara or the Radika, as doing so would leave us open to attack. They're also not taking any chances because the Radika has just recently launched another attack on the Trigon Defense Line." Just than, an alarm goes off. "We've just detected a warp signature!" yells a female crew member. "Are you able to identify it?" asks the captain. "Already on it!"

Hoplites! Based on the results of our poll about at what stage nations of the region are at in playing NationStates, here are the highlights:

  • 24 nations participated, pretty good. Slightly down from 26 of the last poll.

  • Most nations in the region are issues-focused players with 54% (13/24) nations indicating they are stat and achievement-driven. The nations that selected this option were all less than 1 billion in population

  • The amount of RP-focused players and the amount of who's played a while and aren't as engaged are about the same at 16% (4/24) of nations.

  • A couple of nations (8%) have a lot going on IRL so it's been hard to engage in the game, fading in and out. The nations that selected this option, as well as the last 2 mentioned, were more likely to have populations of over 1 billion

  • One nation indicated they are just starting out and is just trying to figure the game out

Hoplites! Based on the results of our poll about how you would handle an outrages security cost for going to the international summit, here are the highlights:

  • 26 nations participated in this poll. Pretty good! higher than many of the previous polls!

  • 42% (11/26) nations would be cool with a virtual option and was the most popular choice

  • Dispute my very bad grammar, people still understood and decided security is important and should hike taxes to pay for it. Specifically, 27% (7/26) participants felt this way.

  • Although almost the same amount, 23% (6/26), would save the money and invest in their own nation instead

  • A couple of nations actually opt to provide their own situation with their nations, as seen below

  • 22 nations participated in this poll, one less than the last poll. Still a reasonably good turn-out whenever we get more than 20 votes.

  • 55% (12/22) nations wanted to gauge which stage in everyone is in how they play NS, so that'll be our next poll topic. Slated for early August

  • 32% (7/22) participants were curious who watched anime, which somewhat surprised me. Since I reference anime in RP, I was just curious about it myself. This poll topic will take place in the second-ish week of August

  • Lastly, 3 nations wanted to know who in the region has enacted legislation on AI citizenship within their nations. Tx Sparanoda for this topic suggestion. This poll topic will be put up around the 3rd week of August

  • The last week of Augst will see another poll to determine Sept's poll topics

  • 23 nations participated in this poll. it's reasonably good turn-out whenever we get more than 20 votes, but some of our best polls were in the 30s!

  • 61% (14/23) of nations prefer RP to take place in current day and was the most popular choice

  • At second place was a fictional, non-typical timeline with 6 votes, which is my preference for RP as well as I RP based on lore established from a fictional anime series.

  • Conventional tropes of a sci-fi future and fantasy past also got 2 votes and 1 vote respectively, rounding off the rest of the votes

  • Surprisingly, no one wanted to RP in the historic past. I guess history is boring :P

  • Interesting, not only was the current day the most popular choice, it was the overwhelming choice of WA nations. With 9 of the 14 votes from WA nations, just the votes from the WA nations would have won this poll for the current day!

Thanks to Azulakas for this poll topic! If you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

Out of curiosity, please give your feedback, do you guys actually like these summaries, let me know if you don't.

Hoplites! Based on your participation in what should a united Cape of Good Hope currency be called, here are the highlights:

  • 30 nations participated in this poll, which makes it among the highest participated polls in recent history

  • Unfortunately, the majority of nations (53%) voted that the whole idea was a bad one and that the cape shouldn't unite into a single currency. The message has been heard loud and clear but the outcome was also a bit unexpected as I only intended the poll to be hypothetical, 'If' all of the regions united into an EU like region with a unified currency, what should be the currency be called? (i.e. in the EU they use euros). Nonetheless, this option was for anyone who had strong feelings against such an idea and indeed many nations did!

  • In terms of people who did enjoy the idea, the option 'Golden Seashells' (proposed by Sparanoda) being a very Cape of Good Hope themed currency name, was the most popular option with 30% of the votes.

  • Second most popular choice was Capos, which I just randomly came up got the remaining 17% of all votes.

  • Surprisingly 'Hopes' did not receive any votes even though it was proposed as a name by several in the pre-poll. And 'Goods' also received no votes, probably for obvious reasons.

Thanks again for this poll topic and everyone who participated! If you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

Hoplites! Based on your participation of what our next poll should be, here are the highlights:

  • 15 nation participated in this poll, resuming to the participation levels of the polls before this last one

  • It would seem the region really enjoys naming things as 40% of votes were for the next poll to be about if our region united into an EU like region with a unified currency, what should be the currency be called.

  • A poll to determine the hosting nation for CGHIS2020 RP (Cape of Good Hope International Summit 2020) did initially lag behind in second place all the way until to the last day of the poll when it got 1 more vote to tie with the just mentioned topic at 6 votes (40%)

  • If some of you may have recalled, Azulakas did propose a poll for what time period would you prefer RPs to take place?, and 20% of voters did want to see that poll come to pass.

  • No one wanted to have a 3rd round of the nation/people of the region shorthand as the next poll. So we'll save it until there's interest from more Hoplites

  • It sounds like no one wanted more polls about polls and how polls can be better polls so I'm guessing also no more polls about what poll topic should be the next poll because that's just too much poll on poll action....... polls.

Thanks again for this poll topic and everyone who participated! If you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

This poll actually establishes what our next 3 polls are going to be (assuming we don't change it), happening based on best-performing topics on this poll:

Next Poll (late June) - if our region united into an EU like region with a unified currency, what should be the currency be called (as it was the winner most of the poll term)
Poll After (early July) - poll to determine the hosting nation for CGHIS2020 RP (Cape of Good Hope International Summit 2020). Monsone, can you remind me of the candidates? Or if you wish to lobby for more candidates?

  • Good Hopers which was only 1 vote behind the top spot with 6 votes (32%). This will be the second time Good Capers placed 2nd. Good Capers was the top choice among nations with 5 billion+ citizens and very high influence

  • Solid choice CGH-ers which was tied 3rd place in the previous round slides to 4th place this round with 5% of the votes

Thanks again for this poll topic and everyone who participated! If you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

Hello fellow Capers! Based on the results of our poll about what kind of RP each of you would like to see / take part in, here are the highlights:

  • 13 nation participated in this poll, a bit lower in participation this time

  • 62% (8/13) were interested in hosting an international summit. Perhaps also not surprisingly, the overwhelming choice of WA member nations. I recommend any nation to announce one as the next RP, I think that could be interesting

  • 23% (3/13) were interested in participating in some kind of civil war, either as part of other nations or their own. Perhaps in support, or opposition to rebels.

  • Surprisingly, international warfare and disease each only got 1 vote. Perhaps because we recently had a disease RP and has done war in the past

Thanks to again for Monsone for this poll topic! As nations like Monsone, Deuschmailt, Sparanoda, Uno oscuro and Siknobyrat has done recently, if you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

Hello fellow Capers! Based on the results of our poll about what should be a short-hand / name of convenience for this region's people and nations, here are the highlights:

  • 16 nations participated in this poll, with the winner being CAPERS! With 5 votes (31%) making it the most selected option

  • Good Hopers came in 2nd with 4 (25%) of votes

  • 3rd Place was a tie with 3 votes (19%) each between Hoplites and CGH-ers

  • Hopefuls did receive 1 vote (6%) with no other options receiving any votes

  • CGH-ers was the top choice for WA member nations with all 3 of it's votes from WA members

  • Good Hopers was the top choice for new nations with all it's votes from nations with less than 1 billion population

Thanks to Siknobyrat for this poll topic! As nations like Sparanoda, Uno oscuro and Siknobyrat has done recently, if you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

As suggested, we may take the top 4 choices from this poll and run it again in a future poll to see how nations vote with less choices.

WonGya wrote:SUMMARY REPORT FROM OUR LASTEST POLL

Based on the results of our poll about what kind of topics would nations like to contribute to / see more of as either regional polls, or on RMB, here are the highlights of the findings as of 12 hours before all voting is closed:

  • 19 nations participated in this poll, 1 higher than the last poll. Only 3/19 (16%) participating nations were established veterans of the region, all others were relatively new. The all-time record of participants for a poll in recent history was 37 nations

  • The majority of nations (53%) wanted to contribute to / see more RP. Since that's the case, I would encourage any and all nations to take the opportunity to start new RPs in the RMB. Such as Roxium had recently. Don't be shy

  • Many nations also wanted to see and participate in more humour, banter and jokes in the RMB. As a matter of fact, it was the second most voted for response at 42% of votes. So here's your dad joke of the day: Why don’t scientists trust atoms? ...........................because they make up everything!

  • There was one nation who wanted to see more national or regional dispatches, which I thought was interesting

  • This surprised me but there was no one who was interested in discussing gameplay or IRL stuff on here. And no suggestions for other things people wanted to see more of

As nations like Sparanoda, Uno oscuro and Siknobyrat has done recently, if you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

As always, I'll put up the next regional poll..... suggested by Siknobyrat soon.....

WonGya wrote:SUMMARY REPORT FROM OUR LASTEST POLL

Based on the results of our poll about if the letter 'x' is deserving of being a letter, here are the highlights of the findings:

  • 18 nations participated in this poll which is fairly good. 14/18 (78%) participating nations were relatively new. The all-time record (from polls when I started polls) so far was the last poll at 37 nations

  • At 7 votes each, there is an equal amount of nations that believe we should be rid of x as there were who thought x should be given a fair shot. Those 2 responses were the most popular, representing 78% of votes

  • WA member nations were most likely to select giving x a shot, but not by a large margin

  • 3 nations were DMX fans and/or wants X to give it to them, but.... somehow aren't DMX fans

  • 1 nation wanted to be rid of another letter than x, but did not specify on the RMB what letter that would be for them

Thank you to Sparanoda for this poll's topic!

Based on the results of our poll about how many stars does everyone think there are, here are the highlights of the findings:

1) There was a record turnout for this latest poll, with 37 participating nations! 31 of which (84%) were relatively new nations of the Cape of Good Hope
2) The answer with the most votes (49%) was approx. 200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. A popular internet source does estimate that there could be approx 2 x 10^23 stars in the universe... so good job voters of this answer. For reference, there is an approx. one hundred billion stars in the milky way, our own galaxy amount billions in the universe
3 ) The second most voted for answer (27%) was that that there are as many stars as there are dreams in the astroplane, which was a surprise to me cuz, I was probably high when I came up with that option. So way to go fellow LSD using nations
4) 5 nations thought they were the only star but let's face it, there can't be 5 stars, there can be only one. So these 5 nations must settle this....highlander style to earn the damn love they so damn think they damn deserve
5) 3 nations hated the available answer options and 2 provided their reasons on the RMB and are below.

.....followed by a very long explainationAnd thank you Tulowitzki for the topic.

3) Voters of Yes were newer, none WA member nations while other options were fairly split between veteran WA nations and newer nations

2) There was support for Valentine Z from the region from poll participants
3) There was also support for Kuriko among poll participants who as you all know has gone on to become our new WA Secretary-General
4) There was no support for any of the other final round candidates amoung poll participants

I am thrilled to share with all of you that we have 2 new regional officers!

Lawithon is now officially our region's new Surveyor / Flag Maker! This means that Lawithon will be supporting all us in the following ways

  • Creation of some (perhaps all in the future) regional polls moving forward. Starting with our mid-August poll and seeing where things go from there

  • Compilation of some (perhaps all in the future) poll summaries moving forward.

  • As a regional flag maker, Lawithon can provide any nation in the region a custom flag crafted by him if they desire one. Lawithon will post a dispatch detailing the kind of flag work he has done and how you can get a flag from him!

Sparanoda is now officially our region's new Records Keeper This means that Sparanoda will be supporting all us in the following ways

  • Identifying posts in the RMB worthy of record and chronicling it in a regionally pinned dispatch for future reference, starting with certain categories (perhaps all in the future) of RMB posts

  • Notifying nations (in some and maybe in the future all cases) on the RMB that their posts have been recorded into a records keeper dispatch to encourage and recognize participants of the RMB who've provided posts worthy of record.

I hope y'all have received a telegram from Emiline recently encouraging all of you to take a moment to check out the AA discord. Something I admit myself I wasn't a part of until fairly recently but it can be a lot of additional fun above and beyond purely playing NS on here.

I have mentioned before, we here at the cape is part of a bigger world of the August Alliance. Not only does the AA discord provide a dedicated channel for Cape nations to interact, you'll have the opportunity to shot the sh*t with AA member nations from throughout the alliance on discord, they are active and a fun bunch.

And there are other benefits of joining the discord:

  • Be automatically alerted of new WA nations in the region for easy endorsing

  • Easy lookup of nation information, who has or has not endorsed you, who you have yet to endorse, etc

  • Possible in real-time chatting, both in alliance wide channels, which are very very active, and on the Cape's dedicated channel (which I admit isn't very active right now, but we can change that)

  • Have fun and interact via memes, exchange media, use features of a modern chat and social board platform in ways the RMB can't do

  • Help the AA and the region in addition ways such as recruiting, etc

  • If there is enough interest from regional nations, besides the cape's dedicated channel there are actually dedicated RP channels on the discord for cape nations to utilize as well

  • Make me look good cuz ppl on the AA discord would love to see and meet more of us Hoplites and asks me why i don't make you guys come lol

WonGya wrote:REGIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello fellow Hoplites! I'm coming to y'all with another regional announcement. In our continuing effort to improve the cape, below are a couple regional officer openings that need to be filled:

  • Surveyor - responsible for the various polls that have been posted for regional nations to vote on. Also holds the responsibility of the realm of polling in general (currently being fulfilled by your very own WAD)

  • Recruitment Officer - responsible for sending recruitment telegrams to promising nations through nationstates to join our wonderful region. There is a simple system already in place that's like a cookbook to follow.

There are some requirements for each officer but I wanted to gauge interest first, so if you are interested, please telegram me to let me know and I'll be happy to share those with you. If you are wondering what's the benefit of being an officer for the region, here are a few:

  • Helping the CGH become a better place through your contribution and work in your officer role responsibilities

  • Recognition from our fellow regional peers of your elevated position of responsibility which is shown on the regional page with your nations name and your position

  • Be given capabilities and controls within the game and the region that you wouldn't otherwise have (various depending on officer role)

  • Increased rate of growth for your nation's reputation as part of your gameplay stats

  • Feel super cool being an 'officer'

Hope you are interested. The one requirement I will disclose beforehand is that since nations can enter and exit the region so frequently and quickly at times, it's preferred that officers of the region have been with the region for a period of time.

So if you are interested in becoming an officer of the region, please telegram me!

We have a lot of fun on the RMB and sometimes there are posts which are noteworthy which I feel may be useful for others in the future, provide an example of how we go about certain things, or just fun and interesting posts. So the purpose of this is to capture some of those things in a way that's usable for reference.

Whether it's new nations asking questions which we often have the same answers to, cool RP that we've had over the years, notable formal communications or humor, I've tried and intend to continue to maintain this dispatch to record these things (using my best judgement on what I consider worth capturing). I would love to get help to maintain something like this, but as dispatches can't be edited by multiple nations, the responsibility falls on me to continue (or not) in maintaining such a dispatch.

I would love it if you can take a moment to take a look, give it an upvote if you like it, and let me know your thoughts here on the RMB or via telegram. Cheers!

WonGya wrote:IMPORTANT UPDATE ON THE RECENT CHANGE IN REGION DELEGATE

Some of you may have noticed that due to some movement in endorsements recently, the role of regional delegate has recently be moved from Bearded Dragones to WonGya (myself).

Bearded Dragones has exchanged telegrams with me and was incredibly great in giving me his support for regional delegate and I have decided that I will try to serve the best I can in this role as it's afforded to me currently.

The privilege to serve in this position is only possible by your endorsements so if you would prefer that Bearded Dragones continue to be the region's delegate, I completely understand and you can express your desire either on here, to me directly via telegram, or indirectly by withdrawing your endorsement of me. Regardless I will happily support Bearded Dragones as the region's delegate.

However, if you are willing to give me a chance, you have my thanks. I am not looking to enact any changes currently and am still trying to figure out the nature of the role. As of immediately, Bearded Dragones has been appointed the role of Vice-Delegate and be given all of the powers I can give an officer at this early point as a delegate. There will be no changes what so ever while I figure out my new responsibilities on the WA and to get my bearings.

At this time, there is to be no changes in how things are in the region. Moving forward, I may bring forth some ideas to get people's feedback, no differently than if I was not an officer or the delegate. And based on feedback, it may lead to changes that are desired.

I ask that at this moment, if you have endorsed me, and are willing to continue to support me, to please keep your endorsement of WonGya. Thank you for your support. And for those nations who are WA members but have not endorsed me, please to endorse WonGya for now, so that there is some level of stability while I figure out this role. If at any point you no longer feel that is deserved, you can certainly withdraw your endorsement at your leisure.

That's all for now. Thank you

Uno oscuro wrote:Attention to all members of the Cape

As of today,  I am your new Recruitment Officer.

Rather than bothering you with a regional telegram, I want to provide this information on the RMB in an informal and friendly environment.

As a recruiter for the region, I have recruited over 100 new members since the last week of April.

In my time as a recruiter, I have come across some criticism from new nations as to why they chose another nation. Luckily, I have been able to steer some of them to other AA nations as a last alternative to joining us.

One of the number one complaints I've received is the lack of cross endorsement from WA members in our region. The worries of these nations is that the lack of endorsements and influence makes us an easier targets for invader regions.

Although it is not mandatory, I hope to see more cross endorsements to make our region more appealing to new nations.

If you have any questions for me or interested in helping with recruiting, feel free to ask here, send me a telegram or message me on Discord.

Bearded Dragones wrote:If I may have the attention of all of our World Assembly member nations...

The election for the World Assembly Secretary-General is currently taking place. The Cape is a place of free will -- I won't tell you who to vote for. But I do ask that you vote.

Representation is important, and it's up to each of us to do our civic duty, electing someone we feel is qualified for the office. The election is held in three Minor Rounds, and then the General Election, each lasting a day. While I recognize that familiarizing yourselves with all of the candidates is incredibly time-consuming (honestly, I haven't read them all either), I'd appreciate if you would read through a few campaigns and vote in at least one of the rounds, as your schedule allows.

Thank you for your time,

Your neighbor and Delegate,

BD

2 nations or roughly 9 percent stated that they don’t watch anime.

8 nations or roughly 33 percent stated that they don’t frequently watch anime but they have seen a few episodes.

Another 8 nations also equal to 33 percent said that they watch some anime.

(I hope this was good this is my first poll summary and I think I did it right)

If you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

And as always, the next poll will be put up.......soon.

If you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll!

Hoplites! Based on the results of our poll about what our next poll topics should be, here are the highlights:

If you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll. And as always, I'll put up the next regional poll in early August!

Hoplites! Based on the results of our poll about what time period would you prefer RPs to take place?, here are the highlights:

And as always, I'll put up the next regional poll soon.....

Our next poll will be to determine the hosting nation for CGHIS2020 RP (Cape of Good Hope International Summit 2020) and, And as always, I'll put up the next regional poll soon.....

WonGya wrote:SUMMARY REPORT FROM OUR LATEST POLL page=poll/p=159706

Mid-July Poll - what time period would you prefer RPs to take place?

And as always, I'll put up the next regional poll soon.....

  • 19 nation participated in this poll, 46% increase in participation from the last poll topic AND 3 more participants than the initial round of this poll topic. Great job guys!

  • In a surprise result, initially 3rd placed Hoplites from the first poll emerged as a winner with 37% (7/19) of the votes! Dethroning initial winner Capers! Hoplites was the top choice for newer nations

  • Capers, the winner of the first round received 5 votes (26%) of votes put it in 3rd place, behind...

As Sparanoda has asked, if you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

WonGya wrote:Hi fellow Hoplites! I wanted to bring to your attention a new dispatch that's been created and pinned to the regional page for your consideration.

Thank you

BD

PS: Stay tuned as more announcements are planned. Such as more regional dispatch changes, officer opportunities, ideas which I'll be seeking feedback for improving nation co-endorsements and recognition of gameplay excellence in the region.

Great idea! You could make an officer position to put together the quotes, maybe have a dispatch of their own, from which you can easily copy onto your dispatch. You could call it the "Records Keeper" officer position.
