Three Hours After the Tsunami:

Military helicopters hover above the Monsonian coast. The preliminary death tolls are at least 9,000, with 175,900 injured. Meanwhile, the armed forces of Monsonia, with the help of the Coast Guard, and the Red Cross. PM William DeGernjh has declared a state of emergency. Currently, the government is appealing for foreign aid, and has threatened sanctions against the nations or organizations that use space weapons beyond a certain size. While the size is currently classified, it is designed to prevent a further catastrophe of this size.
Now, with recovery and rescue efforts underway, Parlament has begun a comission to rebuild the affected area. Currently, this catastrophe will cost Monsonia 7.8% of its GDP initialy, and 22.1% of GDP in the long term. The government is appealing for foreign aid.

With the major destruction on the coast of Monsonia, and its economy crippled, Cape Town was oddly quite, but the lack of sound, was held in memorial for the 9,000 confirmed dead and many more that are missing. Our condolences are with the families and friends of those who have died.
