It was actually really hard to pick one because there have been so many amazing things come to life in the last 50 years. But I'm going to pick the Magnavox Odyssey. Released in 1972 (exactly 50 years ago) it was the first home game console and a precursor to what we enjoy today.

Fun fact from the wiki: "The Odyssey uses a type of removable printed circuit board card that inserts into a slot similar to a cartridge slot, allowing the player to select the unit's various games. On these cartridges isn't a program; there are just a few wires that connect electrically a few parts of the intern console hardware that a game appears on the screen."

The blockchain, we are in dire need of offsetting the environmental gains of Green Energy and have to maintain our inertia into disastrous consumption. The blockchain solves this in the most trivial and wasteful of ways.

No, I’m not a good fake cryer and that would be a necessary skill for the main character of this movie

The Internet. The history of the last 70 years can be divided into Before Internet Era and Internet Era. Even the invention of the Personal Computer or the Mobile Phone didn't have such a decisive impact on our lives as the Internet did and does.

Of course, like almost any invention, especially technological inventions, it has its dark side and needs to be used with extra care and caution, but all in all, its benefits exceed its downsides In My Humble Opinion.

When you are old, what do you think children will ask you to tell stories about?

Post self-deleted by Phantasus.

Phantasus wrote:The CS Question Of The Day

i mean covid for one probably
also that time i accidentally broke my roommates car
i once asked my grandma if she knew abraham lincoln so i'm sure that will come up at some point as well

I hope they ask questions like: Why did there used to be so much injustice? What was it like when people didn't have enough money to get by? How did you guys manage an 8 hour work day like every day?

Because if they ask those questions it means those things are gone.

Phantasus wrote:The CS Question Of The Day
