Gun Control and Banning

I'm sorta new to nationstates, and got an Issue for gun control/ banning which really made me think tbh.

Is it feasible to completely ban guns? Does law enforcement need guns sometimes? Could criminals get guns then use them on unarmed law enforcement?

Realy couldn't decide, but I settled on Gun control but not a total ban, although I'm still kind of sideways on that.

Thoughts?

NS issue results can be pretty wild sometimes. One issue result will tell you that your nation has free-roaming dinosaurs if you pick it. I do think that is it possible for no one, not even police to have guns, and I know for a fact that it is possible to get rid of the military entirely. Also, if you pick an option you regret, just wait patiently and another issue will come along that will give you the option to revert any polices you don't like.

Principally, I do agree getting rid of militaries are possible and probably better, and there are a few present-day countries that have done that. (although they have the benefit of peaceful and stable geopolitics and natural defence.)

It's a little harder for me to think of police being unarmed, especially since firearms are a strong deterrence, but I guess there are less-lethal and still effective technologies that are better for law enforcement.
