Come home to The Greater Germanian Reich

I may not be the most familiar with the rules but I'm pretty darn sure you can't go around NationStates building regions like that. Seems kinda... not good?

No, they're entirely allowed to make such things, but I'm pretty sure North East Somerset or Alvalero or Fooooooooo will be inclined to suppress random recruitment messages that don't actually engage with anyone.

If you recently re-founded your nation after it Ceased To Exist, you were sent here. CTE'd nations are removed from their region. You have to be given a new region when you re-found, as the game mechanics require that every nation have a region. Thus, refounded nations are sent to a random one of Balder, Osiris, or Lazarus (unless banned from all three, then they're sent to The Rejected Realms). This makes Balder, Osiris, and Lazarus the three main "sinker" regions (with TRR being the other, but very different, sinker.)

So, in a certain sense, this is an afterlife for NS nations. But you can leave it if you like.

What if one's banned from TRR too?

Japerlasa wrote:What if one's banned from TRR too?

IIRC, you cannot be banned from TRR. If your behavior is so egregiously bad that even the region specifically for nations banned or kicked from other regions won't have you, your nation gets banned from the game entirely.

Edit: Keep in mind, I really do mean EGREGIOUSLY bad behavior. We're talking open use of ethnic slurs, mouthing off to site staff, violating the "only one WA nation" rule, etc. You have to be REALLY, REALLY bad to be unfit even for TRR.

What Are You Talking About?

Experina wrote:What Are You Talking About?

Game mechanics for NationStates. If you are kicked or banned from a region, your nation gets sent to The Rejected Realms. The Rejected Realms cannot kick or ban nations because they would have nowhere else to go. So if you behave really, REALLY badly there, usually that means your nation is banned from NationStates entirely.

Again??

Does anyone know how to post custom images to a factbook? Say if I designed my own flags, or the like. I know how to do the url thing, but that won't work for custom stuff..

Ok... I was sent here then becasue my beautiful nation kind of split up after quarantine started. It was a tragic day.

The last time I played this was over 2 years ago, what should I change my name to?

I use discord to upload an image. I then click on the image and click on copy image address which gives me the url which I can paste into the "[img][/img]".

You can't change your name. You can change the casing of your name from lower to upper or upper to lower. If your population is high enough you could also change the classification (Republic, Empire, Town, etc.). You could also just start a new nation.

You can use imgur. it's free and doesn't have watermarks. You have to make an account though. Other than using [img] and [.url] you can't really use images any other way.

Nationstates uses something called BBCode. If you want to learn how to create a factbook and use BBCode go here:

Much appreciated.

Hello everyone! I recently wrote a short story concerning a citizen inside my nation. So if you're interested, I urge you to take a look at this 5 minute read. Any criticism is appreciated!

He closed his car door with a slam, making his way towards his apartment a few blocks away. Under a trenchcoat and a scarf he could still feel the freezing cold in his bones. Odd, he thought. It never gets this cold around here. Sure, he could remember a few times that the air was real cold but this cold? No, something must be wrong. But that "something" is anyone's guess at this point. The government holds her secrets very dear.

"God, why is the parking lot so far away?", he murmured under his breath.

Being a court clerk is tiring, getting buried in tonnes of paperwork, a lack of breaks, 12 hour work shifts really sucks the life out of a person. The pay isn't even that good. At least he has the weekends off.

After a bit of fumbling around for his keys, he finally got the door to his flat open. Hanged his scarf and trenchcoat to the stand right beside the wall. He wasn't hungry, he had more important matters. He hadn't done his prayers yet.

He started making his way to the room he dedicated for his god, he specifically chose the room with no windows. As religious worship is one of the worst crimes one can commit.

He walked past the kitchen, piles of dirty dishes in the sink and on the counter causing stench horrible enough to water one's eyes. Trash was strewn about the small living room, the sofa a mess with all the food and drink stains, TV still on.

"I just don't have the time."

Damp patches and cracks on the walls of the corridor. This place could use some renovation.

"It's fine, I'll get to it eventually."

Some of the floorboards are either missing or broken, this isn't safe.

"There we go."

He reached his temple, now where did he put that key?

He took down the portrait of his mother on the opposite side of the door and took the key lodged inside the back of the frame. The key fit the lock perfectly.

Slowly getting the door open, he took in the familiar and comforting sight of his temple. He got in and locked the door after him. This is the only place where he felt safe at all. Getting the lighter from the table, he went around the room lighting the candles one by one. After all the prep work, he was finally ready to find some inner peace.

This train of thought derailed the moment he heard loud banging coming from his door. Frustrated, he got up and stomped his way angrily towards the front door. It must be that troublesome neighbour of his. Knocking on his door to ask for stuff at the worst possible times. He's starting to get fed up with him.

Upon opening the door he was righteously surprised to see two men in dark trenchcoats instead.

"Frank Fort?"

Surely they're here for some minor issue, right?

"Yeah, that's- that's me." He said with a shaking voice.

"Hello, we have noticed some... anomalies on your recent behavior. How about we talk about this inside?" The man said in a cold tone, clearly having done this before.

"Of course, It would be an honor to have you government officials in my ho-"

"Cut it."

God please give me strength to power through this., Frank thought to himself.

He unwantedly let the men inside and shut the door. His heart beating faster and faster as they get closer to his secret temple. They stopped at the living room.

"This place is rather untidy, don't you think Mr. Fort?"

"Yes, i was just about to clean it up."

"Hmph."

Frank could feel the men looking down on him, even through their tinted glasses.

"So, Mr. Fort. Tell us, do you believe in a god?"

"N- no! I am a law-abiding citizen of this country, i would never commit such a crime!" Try as he might, he couldn't hide the fear and worry in his voice.

"Hmm, that's odd, isn't it? You use religious terms a lot in both official documents and your day-to-day speech. Far, far often than average." The man said without emotion.

The second man has been quiet since he's got here. But he never broke eye contact with Frank.

"S- sir, that's just a habit, i know there isn't a god!"

"I believe you, but i don't think my collegue here is satisfied, mind if we take a look around your home?"

Frank couldn't speak, he felt a knot in his throat preventing him from even breathing.

"Mr. Fort?"

"Oh, of- of course, i got nothing to hide!"

"That's good news."

The men immediately started walking right towards the temple without checking anywhere else. Do they know? How could they even know?

They stopped in front of the door and started looking at Frank ominously.

"Please unlock this door, Mr. Frank." The man said.

"How do you know it's lo-"

"Unlock the door, i won't ask again. Mr. Frank." The man stated in a harsher, almost threathening tone.

Frank unwillingly complied, knowing this might be the final moments of his life, he was taking his time.

He never got to ask Julia out on that date he promised. He wondered if Jack would miss him, would he even care? What about his mother? How was she going to get by without her son's support?

This is it.

He put the key in the hole. With the men behind him, he unlocked the door. Slowly pushing it ajar.

"Religious worship is an offense punishable by death, a law-abiding citizen like you should know that. Mr. Fort."

A slight prickling sensation on his neck was the last thing followed by eternal darkness.

I thought it was good. I was kinda unclear on the time period so I kinda just imagined it as 50s Chicago. I'd certainly read more about this.
