Any advice is better than nothing. No worries, too, I didn't take offense. Good luck, either way.
She probably knows already, you know? Seeing as you turn into Forrest Gump whenever you try to confess, haha.

"The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless population of 9.999 billion J0rdians are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company."

It might work better, if the banana is soaked in rum :P

Also, even thought the WA proposal for regulating tobacco was defeated, the person has re-submitted it, without even bothering to improve most of the problems with the first proposal, so please vote against this new one too, if you haven't already.

Okay!

There's a new WA proposal in the GA queue (it'll be up for vote in about 2 days), called Choice in Education
Usually, I'd read it, and discuss it with WA Ministers from other regions, and when it's up for vote, I'd give the people of Balder a brief summary, and my recommendation.
However, in my discussions, it seems that this resolution has been more controversial than usual.

This resolution basically says that parents have the right to chose the education for their kids, without government interference (i.e. as alternatives to state school, they can choose to send their kids to private school, or home school).

My problem, is that it allows parents to let their children learn all kind of BS (e.g. prejudice, incorrect facts, unsafe science) that would be detrimental to society, and the child, and the government wouldn't be able to do a thing about it.

Others are saying that it's a parent's natural right to choose how to raise their children, or that the benefits of allowing private/home schooling outweigh the risks.

How does Balder feel about this issue?

Hello I am a English (UK) speaker and a French speaker.
I am new to this.

The risk's too big. Sure, it's the parents' right. But then instead of having Timmy grow up into, say a history teacher, we have Timmy of the KKK who would go on to spawn more children and teaching them the same backwards mindset.

Yeah, majority of kids will come out unharmed and live a normal life, etc. But it's the minor ones that's the big trouble. They'll be the ones with the loudest voice in the room.

My nation makes the religious indoctrination of children beneath the age of reason a felony, which this proposal explicitly forbids. We will be voting against it.

New fakeland

Ogthrak's government controls every aspect of our peoples life. I'm voting against this as well

Schools are houses of facts. I will not allow parents to control what their child learns in a school, they might choose to teach them of unimportant things, such as Creationism or Religion. I will be voting against this.
