Tea is the go-to hot beverage in Tyra Melin. Most commonly drunk is the Zoloadia tea. Zoloadian tea is made from Zoloadian plant leaves, which are bitter and strong, but have a light sweetness to it. In the North, people usually add cream and sugar to it, and Zoloadian lattes are very common. The North is the more affluent part of the country. In the South, the farming district, more rural, and poorer, it is usually drunk black. They have a different preparation for it, however. They put sugar with the dried tea leaves and let that sit for 21 days, and then remove the leaves and leave them to dry after putting honey on top of them. This leads them to be inherently sweeter than in the North. Some people drink it black, but the complete black tea without sugar is very strong and bitter.

Some drink other teas as well. The North drinks Alowipti, which is very light and is often used in iced tea drinks. On the coast Yeptuir is drunk. It is tea made out of seaweed, which may sound gross, but many like its salty taste. In the south, the delicacy tea is Gyebdian. Gyebdian root is poisonous, however, so they have to make sure it is only the flowers. Tea is most often drunk between the hours of 12:00 PM-3:00 PM, as it is considered an after lunch delicacy. It is seen as helping with digestion, and is drunk very soon after the meal. However, it is considered improper to drink with the meal.

Coffee And Its Place In Tyra Melinian Society

Coffee is a big part of Tyra Melin’s foreign imports. While tea is one of our main exports, coffee is usually an import. The very southern part of the country can grow coffee beans, however, Tyra Melinian coffee beans are incredibly high quality and only available in the Czinkaí mountain range. It is drunk most often at dinner, as it is supposed ro help you sleep once you have the crash. It is given to children as young as 3. Many Maji servants are forced to drink it up to 4 times a day to keep them at their productivity peak. Strawberry Coffee lattes are most popular in the summer, while Iceberry Coffee Lattes are most popular in the winter. Coffee is seen as a status symbol, especially Tyra Melinian produced coffee.
