Valcouria wrote:[u]Anti-Government protests grow, Riots break out in Lloydminster
Protesters have attacked police after thousands of people turned up to a demonstration that officers had "strongly advised" against attending.

Officers suffered broken bones and police vans were set alight as angry scenes unfolded in Lloydminster city centre.

Crowds had gathered in protest of the slow pace at which government reforms have been undertaken in the past few months.

Demonstrators scaled a police station, threw fireworks into the crowd and daubed graffiti on the walls.

Grand Chancellor James Montgomery described the events as "unacceptable".

"Thuggery and disorder will never be tolerated," he said. "Our police officers put themselves in harm's way to protect us all."

Lloydminster Police said that "a small minority gathered to undertake a violent disorder".

Two police vehicles were set on fire, damage was caused to a police station, one officer suffered a broken arm and another suffered broken ribs, the force added.

At the beginning of the demonstration the mood was generally lively but not aggressive.

There was broken glass across the road and some people had climbed on top of traffic lights before there was police intervention.

The dense crowd was eventually forced to disperse, with dozens of arrests made during the course of the evening. The atmosphere among those who retreated became more volatile. Then the atmosphere took a marked turn when the first police vehicle was set on fire.

A small number of protesters jumped on to the roof of a second police van, thumping on the glass as the officers tried to escape.

As well as the police vehicles set on fire, others were smashed up and their tyres let down as the crowd chanted "shame on you".

Police said additional perpetrators would be "identified and brought to justice".

Lloydminster City Police Chief Arthur Redmond said: "This is the worst violence in Lloydminster in many, many years. Between four and six or possibly more officers are seriously injured and some have broken bones. No-one had any indication it would erupt this way."

Lloydminster mayor Mark Rorke said he recognized "the frustrations" with the ongoing government reform but said that "smashing buildings in our city, vandalizing vehicles, and attacking our police will do nothing to speed [it] up".

Videos taken by members of the crowd showed protesters rocking and kicking a police van while officers on horseback were attacked by the crowd.

"This is unacceptable behavior and those responsible for offenses will be identified and brought to justice," Interior Minister Octavia Dollarhyde said.

Since early February, the Imperial Government has undertaken several reform projects as a result of an economic slowdown. Government ministers have already been shaken up by the Emperor, and civil and welfare reform have been promised but have been slow in being rolled out.

Mass gatherings are currently strictly regulated under Imperial legislation and anyone breaching regulations could be fined or jailed, though some Senators have said the law may change to allow for more open protests.

I don't have really any problem with this in the principle, but the general scale and quality is unrealistic to the logical standards. I can see your selling a old carrier or maybe offer selling battleships to strategical allies, but at the current point in time, it just isn't reasonable.

The tabulu islands wrote:Zhousheng out here calling out unrealism so I'm gonna hop on the bandwagon and mention that we have a total Anterian population of close to 13 billion people

That one isn't really set in stone, if you are looking on the regional stats, at don't really go by those. Anteria is more populous than Earth, no dispute in that one, but the real world population was never set as a lore stat. (That iiwiki stat is probably not canon, as it is there since the old map, which was edited to be larger to fit more countries in, which in turn explains the population. That one, just like the UACR wikipage, is probably just the old stat with no real canonity anymore)

After the flight ceremony earlier in the day, passengers were boarding the new TA-2000.
Captain Samuel Desolii was sitting in his seat in the cockpit, going over the gauges and powering up the plane while First Officer James Siselina greeted everyone boarding the plane, giving them pins and special commemorative papers, even a few models of the plane to kids boarding.

First Officer James Siselina: "Welcome Aboard Pan Anteria! We hope you enjoy your flight today to Kandan, Zhousheng."

After awhile, all the passengers were aboard and seated. The head flight attendant closed the door to the gate, giving a wave to the gate staff.
James walked up through the first class section of the plane, smiling at the passengers as he goes into the cockpit.
As James enters, Samuel presses a button and holds it down, giving an announcement to the passengers

Captain Samuel Desolii: "Good Morning Everyone, this is your Captain speaking. Welcome Aboard Pan Anteria flight 001 to Kandan, Zhousheng. The expected flight time today is about...Ehhhhh...3 hours and 35 minutes from takeoff to touchdown. At this moment we will be pushing back out of the gate in a minute. There will be a special fire hose blasting over us today, so dont worry about the spray. Other than that, we will be cruising at a beautiful height of 76,000 feet. We hope you enjoy the flight today."

He unclicks the button and peers out the front of the plane, lowering the nose of the aircraft.
A light thunk is heard as the pushback tug connects to the front gear, starting to push the plane back from the gate slowly.
As the TA-2000 is being pushed back, the First Officer open up the fuel lines to the 4 engines, getting ready for startup.
After another few minutes, the plane finally gets pushed back into startup position.

Captain Samuel Desolii: "Alright, startup engaged, fuel systems are open, engines 1 through 4 startups, switch the engine sectors to start."

First Officer James Siselina reaches up and switches the engine switches to Startup. The whirring of the engines sped up and got louder as the 4 ignited for the first flight.
The two pilots looked at each other, smiling as they slide open both of their side windows, the Captain sticking a big San Calia flag out his window and the First officer sticking a big Zhousheng flag out his window. Both of the flags waving out the windows in the warm tropical breeze.

First Officer Siselina: "Solana Tower, this is Klipper 001, requesting permission to taxi to Runway 31 for takeoff to Benjamin Totoj Kandan International Airport."
Solana Tower: "Klipper 001, Solana Tower, cleared to taxi to runway 31 via Bravo, Alpha, Alpha 31. Line up and wait for takeoff clearance. Call when ready."
First Officer Siselina: "Klipper 001, cleared to taxi to runway 31, via Bravo, Alpha, Alpha 31. Line up and wait. We'll call when ready."

The Captain smiled as he gripped the throttle quadrant, pushing the 4 engine controls forward slowly, the whirring and revving of the engines increased as the big TA-2000 began to roll down the taxiways.
The two nations flags still waving out of the windows of the plane as it taxi to the runway.
The plane turns onto the entrance of the runway, the two pilots pulled the flags back in the windows and closed them up, air tight locking them up.

First Officer James Siselina: "Solana Tower, Kipper 001, requesting takeoff clearance from Runway 31."
Solana Tower: "Klipper 001, Cleared for takeoff Runway 31. Full afterburner to beacon LEVI, Climb to Flight Level 450, Supersonic after flight level 450."
First Officer James Siselina: "Copy Solana Tower, Heh, Enjoy the Show."

First Officer James Siselina nods at Captain Samuel Desolii, the Captain smiles again as he pushes the throttle quadrant to max thrust. With a loud Fwoosh, all the engines ignited to a bright purple flame, the afterburners on the engines pushing the aircraft forward down the runway. As it starts rolling, the plane goes under two beams of water shooting out from two firetrucks on the side of the runway, giving the flight a water cannon salute.
The TA-2000 thundered down the runway with the after burners fully ignited.

First Officer Siselina: "60, 70...100...120,130...150, V1."
Captain Samuel Desolii: "Rotate."

The Captain pulled back on the yoke, raising the nose and the front gear off the runway.
The altimeter begins to increase as the TA-2000 lifted off from the runway.

People in the airport and near by watch as it climbed away from the runway, going up to the sky. The gear raised up and tucked away into the aircraft.
A few took pictures as it climbed up before disappearing into the clouds.

Capital of Shaunteville

The booms of Kistolian bombing raids above Shaunteville’s capital are getting louder as Kistolian forces near the city. Kistolian soldiers are shooting at the Shauntellerine forces, along with artillery shooting from the back.

A soldier by the name of Ja Sėnsėnćti is kneeling down by a bleeding soldier yelling, “Sevani! Sevani!”, as a medic runs toward him and the soldier. The medic speaks Common to Ja “Where is he hurt?” Ja responds, “He got hit in the neck by a bullet, he might be dead!” The medic checks his pulse and says “He’s still alive! I’ll cover his neck and bring him to a medical tent.” Ja replies “Ok” as the medic walks away with the wounded soldier.

Fighter jets arrive from above attacking Shauntellerine air forces, whilst the fields are painted with bullet shells, dead soldiers, and guns.

The Treaty of Krenşäheri

In order to ensure the continuity of good relations with the Krenyan state, Abjekistan have introduced the Treaty of Krenşäheri, which will allow the export of large quantities of concrete sand from the numerous quarries of southern Düýestan. Most of the sand will be turned into concrete to help rebuild cities affected by the recent war.

More informations will come in the next days.

Tabulu Pushes for Global Warming Fixes
The small nation of Tabulu, having a highest point of 251 meters and averaging at 56 meters, has been pushing for change to fight against global warming. Over the past two decades, the sea level has risen an astounding 8 centimeters, and while Tabulu is currently unaffected, evidence would point to Tabulu disappearing completely within 290 years. Climate advocate Markitit Obulitoga has come to state that "This is a genocide, maybe not one that is fraught with the massacre of millions over a short period, but a genocide nonetheless. My ancestors are Tabuluan and have been Tabuluan since the beginning of time. Our culture cannot simply vanish into the sea because of the greed of a few corporations."
While evacuations are planned for Fort Ka'kua by 2084 (of which point the city would have water up to the knees in most parts), the overwhelming push has been for levies to be built and for global warming to be brought to a halt.

(if you guys actually respond to this it would be nice, this is a real issue facing Samoa and I'm trying to both bring real-world awareness while also engaging the RP)

Stepping onto the scene :
In the February of the newest year, the Qui Latinean authority, comprised of Seipor Basha and a cabinet of 250, decided to help Isshiki, a fellow socialist nation, in their civil conflict. On the 21st of February, a bill allowed citizens to start producing rations for soldiers in Isshiki fighting to the good fight. That was the first of many steps, soon enough, on the 25th; The government began sending weapons to supply the Isshiki soldiers. The 18th of march that same year saw the direct intervention in the war for Isshiki. In this event, hundreds of men from the 2nd Namur battalion were equipped for the jungles of Isshiki. At first, this was not welcome by the Isshiki army staff, but after consideration of the threat, the representative agreed. The troops boarded boats headed that way, and on the 20th of March; They arrived in the ports of Moku and Michi. They regrouped and reorganized in preparation for the jungle environment. Although amid hellish fighting of sorts, they haven't seen combat.

Latvia and Saaremaa, as Marlenka detailed, the carriers status in canon is void, and they're focusing on worldbuilding their nation further, with the assistance of the RP councillors.

As we've previously discussed, your own military, and indeed, nation needs its own share of worldbuilding and realism work before anyone is buying carriers. Many thanks.

And BTW, I redefined my nation for 2 reasons:

1) Allows me to have the more room for Lore (Marlenka was once Kingdom before it became a Principality).

2) Allows me to use the Principality Of Marlenka for my own use/random boogaloo.

Update on Protests

Today Telsruk Haven spoke outside his office in Dexterfield to talk about the recent LGBTQ+ protests with his supporters in front of him. About a km away from his podium protesters were scuffling with police for the 3rd day in a row. Wellsenfaile is having its worst crisis since the 1989 blue ribbon revolution with many around Wellsenfaile scared about what will happen next.

In Telsruk Haven's speech, he announced a 4-day curfew starting tonight to stop the curfew. In the speech, he also asked for other countries to stay out of Wellsenfaile's business saying that "we are handling the situation appropriately" though many disagree with that. He also gave a message to the LGBTQ+ community, "We allowed you in without persecuting you. We openly let you in from Vultesia. We made laws that made you safer. Now listen to us, Vultesia is our closest ally and if don't like that you can go back to Vultesia". At the end of the speech, he told about his eagerness to meet First Citizen Felics Basztyn in 2 days. After he left his podium his supporters cheered with blue ribbons.

As for the protests in Dexterfield there were 2 separate protests so that the police had to use more manpower to disperse them. One was a candle vigil for the 28 people who have been killed in the protests. Police didn't disperse it with protesters handing them notes about the atrocities they have been faced by the police. The second protest was in the industrial suburb of Twebi with protesters throwing rocks, burning tires, and even stealing police cars as the situation escalated. Police used metal batons, pepper spray, tear gas and stun guns to disperse the crowd. After 54 minutes 8 gunshots were heard as people started fleeing the scene. About 18 buildings were completely destroyed and about 3 were on fire. Police have reported about 15 police vehicles are missing and about 11 have been destroyed.

Around Wellsenfaile police dispersed protests as soon as they started. Only about 7 protests happened around Wellsenfaile with about 63,000 people participating. With the fatalities, about 8 people died today including a police officer. Another 3 people died from yesterday's protest pushing the death toll to 39 and about 567 people have been injured with the Wellsenfaile Emergency Health Service saying that hospitals can't cope with the increase of injuries. Also, many hospitals are having an influx of mental health cases. One of the casualties is a 6-month baby who died after a rubber bullet smashed against her skull leaving her in a coma and eventually dieing. Still, police have defended their actions saying that the policeman who died 'served his country well' and said that his killers will be punished in the most severe way.

As the curfew sets in many live in fear. The human rights watch has now labeled Wellsenfaile from a liberal leftist republic to an authoritarian dictatorship. LGBTQ+ activist Berha Nevera has said "I believe Wellsenfaile is being influenced by Vultesia. This is not the Wellsenfaile I know, the one who stands up to injustice". Many believe the same.

Vultesian flag flown next to Kentalian one in Požadin

Prigrezevac Gazelle- Ilarion Karanović

A rather surprising sight this morning for the inhabitants of Požadin, a small town north of Mt. Jagočar. On their way to work or school, multiple citizens noticed that instead of the three Kentalian flags, two Kentalian and one Vultesian flag were flown outside of the town hall. This, rather surprisingly, was a move carried out by the major of Požadin, Mladen Todorović. Todorović, a member of the NSK and elected major of Požadin, is a supporter of the way LGBT people are treated in Vultesia, and as such he decided to fly the Vultesian flag in support. This surprisingly went off well with most people, seeing that Požadin is more conservative than other cities. But on social media, all hell broke loose. The popular tag, named #CancelTodorovic, became a top tag on the popular platform "Twatter", while on "Headnovel" people pushed for more people to follow in flying Vultesian flags. Just after lunch, an LGBT activist was able to slip past security of the townhall, climbed to the roof, and threw the Vultesian flag down. The activist, whose name has been kept secret by the Police, was shortly after arrested for trespassing. Further down south, an LGBTQ protest was held outside of the Vultesian embassy in Polácica, which was shortly after dispersed by police, as the protesters started throwing rocks at the building. Here, twelve people were arrested.

It is yet unknown how this will affect Kentalis or Vultesia, but more cities have followed with flying either LGBT or Vultesian Flags.

Third Day of Protests in Jabiyah
After a candle-light vigil held at midnight yesterday, LGBTQ+ rights activists outside the Vultesian Embassy kicked off the third day of protests with a series of speeches presented by prominent LGBTQ+ rights figure, including former Police Inspector Dan Archarya, who was fired from the Gassasinian National Police in 1983 after being outed as a homosexual.

Amongst the demands made by protestors is the demand that all arms trade with Vultesia be halted. Additionally, protestors wish to draw attention to homophobic and sexist attitudes which continue to linger in Gassasinia.

Further arrests have been made by the Gassasinian National Police after protesters attempted to block a van belonging to the embassy from passing through the gates.

Additionally, some on social media have accused the Gassasinian Government of using social media shadow-bans to censor LGBTQ+ content considered subversive to what is considered a "neoliberal hijacking and co-opting" of the LGBTQ+ community. A spokesperson for the Ministry for Information Technology, Communication and Information denied these claims, stating that the government has only co-operated with social media networks to limit the spread of potentially violent messages.

A variety of left-wing and liberal political groups, including the Student's and Youth's Labour Convention and LGBTQ+ Liberals have attended the protests, which have joined forces with feminists to protest Vultesia's unequal treatment of women.

It is estimated that the number of activists going out into the streets of Jabiyah could surpass as many as fifteen thousand by the end of the day. Smaller protests have popped up in towns and cities across the country.

It is estimated that in Gassasinia, despite the best efforts of progressive social movements and the government itself, LGBTQ+ persons are often disproportionately subject to homelessness, physical and verbal abuse.
