'Hey, I've got an idea, if you're in?' That's how it starts, a three month-long diplomatic, social and military crisis, that is set to rock three separate nations, arrives with the ping of a Discord notification. When crafting a story, a cohesive and coherent narrative, a writer needs to know their beginning, middle, and end, before commuting pen to paper. When a story has multiple authors it's critical that they are all on the same page, and know what they want out of their participation. And that's all an RP, be it an invasion, a natural disaster, or a set of trade talks is; shared storytelling. If you have a story you and another player want to act out, consider the following.
•Do we both know the ins and outs of this story? The causes, effects and outcomes.
•Is this player, someone, I trust to play their relevant part without improvising or going off script? There's nothing worse than a previously undiscussed entering stage left.
•Are we both happy with the result? Most wars have a clear winner and loser, and most crises have one party coming out force for wear. Make sure whoever that is is okay with that.
•Are all participant aware of the long term ramifications? Worldbuilding isn't an overnight thing, and what happens in your nation could effect nations surrounding yours for months or even years to come. We're all here in Anteria to tell our nations' stories, and prior planning and a thorough understanding of both the region's canon and consent policies will allow us all to do so in an enjoyable environment

Kentalis: First up, congratulations on winning the election of Director of Internal affairs, tell me, was it hard?
Foxomexra: Thank you! There were definitely great names from the community who were running for the position, and I think you can really tell that by the way the votes turned out. I am glad to have won the election, and I believe I really owe it to the time I have spent working in government as the cartographer - I built up a big image that I think people recognized when voting.
K: That certainly sounds interesting. Now, tell me a bit about yourself, and specifically your history on Nationstates.
F: I first joined NationStates nearly four years ago. A few of my friends from high school came across the website and we immediately had an interest in it. We set out founding our own region dedicated to modern roleplay which lasted for some time before many in the group went on to pursue other interests. Those of us that stayed on NS explored the website trying to find a nice place to call home, and for me it wasn't until late 2019 that I found the perfect spot, and that was Anteria. I have always been interested in mapping, and even in that first region my friends had founded I was cartographer - some things just never change.
K: So it seems, haha. Is there any specific reason why you decided to run for Director of Internal affairs? Or did you just decide to run out of the blue?
F: I definitely would not say it was out of the blue, having been in the region for well over a year I feel committed to the region and the community. I want to help improve the region and make sure it continues to be a place welcoming for individuals looking for a community to call home. I was quite confident I could be a benefit to the region in the position of Director, and so I ran.
K: That certainly sounds like something a person with a plan would say, which brings me to my next question, what's your plan as DoIA?
F: I have a few specific ideas in mind for how to make the best of this position. The three main fields the Director of Internal Affairs covers is recruiting, maintaining dispatches and IIWiki, and of course the newspaper. Recruiting is absolutely something that needs to be taken more seriously in Anteria, so my plan is to create a list of individuals who are willing to be active recruiters and to make sure we have someone recruiting for most hours of the day. I am aware of some main pages on IIWiki that need updating, so my goal is to make sure that these are promptly updated and to keep in contact with individuals in the community who make large use of IIWiki and empower them to continue improving what we have. As for the newspaper, I am quite satisfied with how you have been handling matters as the Chief Editor.
K: Well thank you! I'm happy to see your plans lied down like that. Maybe you could tell me a bit about your country in Anteria?
F: My country in Anteria is a federal republic founded upon an ideology whose specific details I am still working out in some regards. Essentially, the founding principles of Foxomexra are focused around individual liberties, restricting abuses from both the government and corporate entities. The state religion is the Church of Solarity, which in a simple sense is a religious devotion to rationalism. Generally, Foxomexran society lets people live the way they want and does not give them too much trouble. In terms of its foreign affairs Foxomexra considers the matter of national sovereignty to be of the upmost importance whether it be its own or another nation's authority. As a result, Foxomexra often disagrees with the existence of overbearing international organizations even it itself is not a part of, due to the perceived restrictions on independence it has towards members.
K: Nice! Finally, What are your plans for the future on Nationstates?
F: I love it here on NationStates, so I have every intention to just keep doing what I'm doing. Working my best on the Anteria map and carrying out my new responsibilities as Director of Internal Affairs.

Despite most of the lore being tied to countries playing, there are some events, which unavoidably affect all of the world. One of those things would definitely be a first-ever manned lunar landing. Although people are often involved in the current worldbuilding in space activities, one question in Anteria remained unanswered for a long time: Who was the first one? While many of the countries with current active space programs claim to be on the Moon at some point in the last 50 years, nobody knew for sure the answer, on who was the first. I have decided to settle the issue once and for all. While trying to search for the lore and consensus, I slowly worked towards the earliest date. Although being quite problematic, eventually, I came to the (erroneous) conclusion, that Aziallis was the first to land on the Moon. This mistake came from the idea, that Aziallis was the superpower back in the 1960s and Aziallis confirmed to have a lunar landing in 1970. During the project of making a faked lunar landing footage, I was contacted by San Calia, which claimed to have landed on the Moon by 1967, which caused me to rework the project I have already almost concluded. To finish the worldbuilding of the Olesia 5 San Calian lunar mission, I had to create a whole fictional map of the Moon to establish fictional lunar geography (map can be seen here: https://www.deviantart.com/fjana/art/Anterian-Moon-860095255) and created a faked footage of the landing (silent video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNW4fkYWXVI) Despite the lore hardly being finished, I feel like doing little things to encourage others to worldbuild is a push in a positive direction for both lore of Anteria and lore of the country/countries in question.
As some of you might’ve noticed, the directorate has had a major change of its structure. The most appparent, and largest change, is the merging of the roles of Director of Media, Director of Archives and Director of Recruitment into the Director of Internal affairs. Foxomexra has been elected to fill this role with a majority of the votes. Halsuntrian Sweet Salmon (Deattalax)
Ingredients
Salmon:
1 Salmon Fillet
~ 1 Pound
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons rice vinegar
4 teaspoons (dijon) mustard
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425F Cut salmon into 4 roughly equal pieces and place skin side down in a foil-lined pan (15x10x1) Sprinkle salmon with the salt and pepper and roast for 10 minutes Remove both from the oven, preheat broiler Stir the remaining ingredients (brown sugar, vinegar, molasses, mustard) in a small saucepan and heat until simmering Brush the simmered liquid over the salmon and place in broiler for 1-3 minutes until the fish begins to flake easily Remove from pan and Enjoy!

Hello Anterians, I might no-longer be the Director of Media, but that won't stop me from publishing the Three Star Tribune. Here's this month's publication.

The President-General saluted back, raising his right hand in a traditional Victorian salute, originating from the days of early white supremacist groups in the nation.
"May we be united, indeed. I see no reason to refuse any of your terms, and I see nothing particularly objectionable."
He handed the God-Emperor a special artefact. The artefact, in particular, was known as the Sword of General Lackney, famously swung at the great Battle of Prester during the Victorian Civil War, and allegedly had the blood of a hundred southerners upon it, forged from the greatest steel in all the nation. What made it particularly legendary, however, was how he fought in Prester. Against an army of escaped slaves and Southern soldiers, he stood with his battalions, outnumbered and encircled. Seeing this, they took their last stand, as the 50,000 elite cavalrymen charged against the 200,000 men before them, having seen no other choice. After Lackney had died in the middle of the battle through the bullet of a southern rifleman, it was said that his son, riding beside him, had got down from his horse and picked up his sword, waving it in the air and taking up the charge, defeating the forces with their superior training and military tactics, with many of the white southern soldiers allegedly defecting to the northerners after the battle.
"A symbol of Victoria against the cowards, and a symbol of our upcoming victory." He made a second salute, after personally handing the sword to the God-Emperor. Along with that, he handed an old bottle of northern whiskey. The whiskey was marked clearly: "Herringsburg 1889."
"My ancestors, along with taking care of our ancestral corn farm, also made a fine old whiskey. We had a tradition of drinking a special bottle of whiskey, made when we were born, on our 16th birthday. This bottle of whiskey was a special one. My father told me that it was for the most special of occasions, for each great victory of our nation.
And so, God-Emperor, for as the sword is a symbol of our shared strength, the whiskey is a symbol of our shared celebration."

The Death of Martin Thorn
Martin Thorn, current Secretary of Internal, Security and Intelligence Affairs, has recently passed away from the complications after his attempted assassination last December. Preston Renee has swiftly been confirmed as his replacement.
For when Victoria felt rage when Martin Thorn lived, now Victoria feels rage that Martin Thorn has died. A state funeral will be held for him shortly after the return of President-General Porter from Hadian.

After 6 years Wellsenfaileans go to the polls again. This election will be the 11th election with about 46.78 million people voting. Voting will last for 3 days and results will come a few days after the polls close. While many analysts predict an easy win for Telsruk Haven and his WDSRP (Wellsenfaile Democratic Socialists Party) recent polls suggest changing demographics. It seems people are now tired of the WDSRP after 32 years. The main presidential candidates are

Tabuluan Ground Forces introduces new Amphibious Combat Vehicle
The Tabuluan Ground Forces have recently introduced a new ACV under a production license sold by arms company "Tandem." The vehicle, named the L-18 "Weaver," has run combat tests along the shores. The L-18 is equipped with a high suspension system for light amphibious assaults and crossing rivers, as well as a 45mm autocannon turret, which also supports a smoke system, spotlight, and flares. In combined arms assaults, the L-18's flare system has proven vital in marking targets for support helicopters, while the 25mm hull all around provides decent overall protection from incoming small and medium arms fire. However, the vehicle has been criticized for its lack of anti-tank countermeasures, the exception being an attachable minesweeping device on the front.

New Judean Times: Large pocket of natural gas found off coast! Today a large pocket of natural gas was found just 23 miles (37 KM) off the coast. Experts estimate there are at least 20 billion barrels worth of natural gas in the pocket. The government has annouced plans to begin construction of 3 rigs within 2 weeks. The government also plans to get help from Besihi for construction of the platforms and expertise for the drilling. The Ministry of Trade director and Prime Minister plan to also sell this natural gas to other countries once they get the platforms finished and the drilling starts.

New Judea Assists Victims of the Isshiki Civil War Today the New Judean Government annouced a relief plan for the victims of the Isshiki Civil War by sending 200 Million ACU to the various separatists. The New Judean Government makes it clear that this money is to ONLY be used to better the lives of the civilians.
Looking at the sword with high honour while listening to the General-President Porter explain its uniqueness the God-Emperor was humbled by the gift. "What an honour General-President Porter. It shall hang in display in the Volkshalle with high honour and guarded by two elite Juchekorp soldiers."
Looking at the bottle of whiskey with confusion yet amazement for Hadians have never seen whiskey but do love their alcohol. "I have something for you General-President Porter. Our finest vodka made from Arctic potatoes and glacier water." ;Handing Porter a special bottle of this vodka that has a unique stamping of God-Emperor Jon's great grandfather on it. "It is distilled to the highest purity just like our two races", remarked God-Emperor Jon. "I would love to have a try of... What do you call this? Oh yes, whiskey. Please forgive me, I have never seen such beauty as this. I'd be honoured if you General-President Porter would be the first to open and pour us a couple glasses to which we could celebrate our beginning of a strong friendship and alliance." God-Emperor Jon clapped and two butlers came into the room with glasses for all delegates and a couple platters of finger food. The food, mostly Hadian speciality, such as pre cracked Arctic crab, shrimp, mussels and pre cracked Arctic lobster. All food portioned into finger style food.
"General-President Porter, I do have another gift to give you." The God-Emperor walked over to a cabinet and pulled out an old rifle. "This rifle was issued in 1930 during the time that my Great grandfather took power. It was what brought the National Socialists order to Hadian. It brought the elimination of degeneracy from Hadian." Handing the rifle over to General-President Porter "It is still operational. Shall we have drink?"

Tabuluan Author Remembrance: "A New Way of Things"
150 years ago, Tabuluan author Kalou Parzedovic published the book "A new Way of Things." Considered controversial at the time, the book detailed the opression and suffering of the Tabuluans under the rule of the Torvonese. At the time of its writing, Kalou Parzedovic was jailed for his ideas, although his book would be passed to the hands of his wife, of who would publish it. The book is regarded as one of the most important books of the mid-nineteenth century, asking the question of whether or not colonialism was the route to pursue. Anti-colonial sentiment not just in Tabulu, but throughout the world, would be encouraged by the ideas pressed in the book. Today, Ocan T'fiki, president of Tabulu, had this to say about the book:
"It is not up to us to decide how others can live, and Parzedovic's 'New Way of Things' is a perfect example of this. Today, we follow in his example, allowing people to live free, while treating all as equals. Truly, I do believe that Parzedovic is one of Tabulu's greatest figures, and I should hope that his ideas are never fully lost to history, that we always remain aware of his teachings."
Schools around Tabulu have been reading this book as part of their curriculum for the next week, and most major Tabuluan television stations are having a 30 minute special on Parzedovic's life.
