So apparently simply advocating communism (not enforcing it) is authoritarian in this game. :/

What happened?

so with seven to two votes it is decided that we keep our embassy with anarchical assembly.

If your region no longer wishes to receive polls from The International Polling Zone, please let me know.

Good job on organising polls on these topics, thanks!

sure thing. though it seems the question if we should keep our embassy with lardyland isn't a controverial one at all.

I need a translator.

“Is plenty clear we need to reach a compromise, ya ken?” suggests Julius MacDiarmid, a noted devolutionist who attends every public debate possible. “Seems like majority dinnae want that name appearin’ on official maps and websites and suchlike, but guv-ment choosin’ a spankin’ noo name seems a wee bit too bossy, if yer see what I’m sayin’ in the noo. Why not have yer provincial votes on yer town nomenclature like? Have any petition with a dram of signatures be triggerin’ a referendum: then all the people can decide how settlements are named, y’ken? Granted there, there may be a-one or a-two grumpy locals fashin’ themselves like wee bairns aboot it, but as me gran-da used to say, ye cannae please all of the people all of the time.”

What the hell is he saying?

There may a few grumpy locals arguing about it, but as my grandfather used to say, you cannot please all of the people all of the time.”

Spoiler: It's the best answer to the issue.

A poll for Libertatem?

Equa lib wrote:A poll for Libertatem?

They're quite reactionary..

Astrum Nigrum, East Angria, and Anarchitaria

we've declined them a few times in the past. we can surely do a poll if anyone is in favour, but i suspect it will be similarly uncontroversial as this week's poll.

Sorry - I went ahead and rejected it before I saw these RMB messages. The guy proposing the embassies is named "Highway 88" (to say nothing of Libertatem's long history of waging war on any region that registers a slight whiff of "communism" in their "anarcho-"). Followers of Ayn Rand may style themselves "anarchists" but anarchy is more than the simple abolition of the state - which on its own is little more than admiration for "might makes right."

A more mis-named region I cannot imagine.

If y'all want to give the benefit of the doubt I won't override the vote, but I figured this one was super obvious.

We had a lengthy discussion about (and with) Libertatem a few months ago. Highway 88 will tell you it's obviously a nation parodying fascism, but I still have my doubts. I agree that we still don't need an embassy with Libertatem.

I'd like also to add that I was a Lieutenant of the Red Fleet (with my main nation Celle franca) when Libertatem started raiding regions associated with The Internationale and more generally NS Left via their raiding organization ANTICOM. As most libertarians and anarcho-capitalists, they were known to joke about helicopters and Pinochet (so much for right wing originality).. although ANTICOM doesn't exist anymore, I'm sure the anti-communist sentiments are still there.
I'm all for tolerance, but only if it is mutual.

the results of the poll were clear. i'm closing the embassy with lardyland now.

And before Anticom there was REATO, the "Reagan Treaty Organization". If you are militantly anti-socialist and name your alliance after a reactionary government executive of the US Empire, perhaps you should re-assess your commitment to 'libertarianism'.

URGENT ALERT: Our Covfefe supplies are dwindling! Get them while you still can!

April Fools! . . . oh wait, that was two days ago. But don't worry, we never run out of Covfefe, so, here, try a free sample while you inspect our foolish poll!
