you have been a member before, voting for or against resolutions, so i guess you know how that part works :)

concerning the region, it's of course better to have more world assembly endorsements for trusted nations, as that makes it a bit more difficult for raiders to assume control. another point is that you'll gain more influence over time when you're a world assembly member trading endorsements with others in the region; and this makes it more difficult for any raider to eject you from the region in the event that they do manage to snatch the seat as delegate from one of us.

Yeah I joined at the beginning and didn't fully understand its value in terms of trying to be as Anarcho as possible. Ta.

Illuminati

Message from the Grand Chancellor-Elect of Illuminati
Greetings from the region of Illuminati. As prescribed by The Axomata Illuminatorium, our regional constitution, I now make a brief appearance and hereby announce the transition of power from the hands of Illuminati's previously elected Grand Chancellor, Cauteria, into my own.

During my candidacy for Grand Chancellor, I had hoped and planned on expanding and improving inter-regional relations, and now during my transition into the Grand Chancellorship, I plan on doing just that during my time in office.

Though I may wish for strong interregional relations, it will take more than me saying so and hoping that it will happen. Relationships work both ways, so if we want to strengthen our relations, I must have the cooperation and participation of both your region, and mine.

If you wish to both build and improve the relations between our two regions, I ask that you please not hesitate to contact me directly via telegram or a message through Discord where we can hopefully work out plans for further negotiation and progress between us.

Wishing you well,
-United States of Eastern America, 55th Grand Chancellor of Illuminati.

This nation is actually fairly close to Proudhonian anarchism. There is functionally no state/government (only 2.8% tax and I'm pretty sure people technically don't actually have to pay taxes (it's an average after all), and 3.2% of economic activity falls under government but there is no police/military) and of course no private property (a measly 1% black market, and obviously 0% legal private sector.)

How did you do that? 🤣

I can't quite remember but I have 5 fresh nations loaded up so I can test this out on them but if I recall correctly it goes something like this:

Stage 1 - private tyranny
The objective of this goal is simple, and is two-part - deregulate and defund, no exceptions.
Dismiss all issues with options counterproductive to this (eg. "you have to fund this or ban that" type issues = dismiss). Do this until it says Income tax is unheard of in place of your tax rate.

Stage 2 - public tyranny
Now that we have no real state we have to reverse this by creating a new state. When it arises, choose an option to entirely abolish capitalism and give the means of production to the public (be careful you don't choose one that has other implications that could mess it up.)
Brilliant. Now the means of production are in your hands. You should have a command economy with very little tax (in my case it was like than 3%.) If you have a sound economic base and there were no other implications of the option that could say otherwise your economy should still be in tact (best you get it to frightening beforehand but this isn't necessary.)

Stage 3 - no tyranny
Now we have to wait until we get the issue The Bear Necessities. Choose the option to switch from central planning to direct worker control. All gov't ownership is now state-owned industry (the terminology is off but you get the idea... constitute state for communal in this context since it doesn't really qualify for statehood.)

Tada! If it goes to plan you are now Center for a Stateless Society's wet dream. Sorta.

Yeah me too. I've ended up kinda Anarcho-Socialist. I've never dismissed an issue, so doubt I can turn it around.

I'm going to try this. I've almost got step #1 completed, so it shouldn't take me long to get stage 3 and 4.

Alright well I have made an interesting discovery. I'm not sure when this was added (there was no post about it) but this is possible:

http://i.imgur.com/ULp2FsK.png

This is for Omega state xxiv
It is now possible to completely abolish the government and the expenditure chart will be empty, government activity is also 0% (which was otherwise achievable before)
To top it off this nation has 100 political freedoms and 99 civil rights, almost the perfect stateless society within the confines of this game.

Anyway point being -- this is achievable via the Low on Laws, Say Citizens issue. This will be very helpful for stage 1 as it basically completes it to the furthest possible extent in 1 issue. As to what happens when you switch to socialism and then institute workplace democracy we will remain to see.

Creation of a militarized meritocratic education system that rewards intelligence and initiative.
Restoration of nobility and ennoblement of heroic individuals who've earned a title for service rendered to the nation.

How is the Starship Troopers reboot coming?

Admittedly I find the film superior to the book in many ways. The only way the movie could have been better is if they had power armor.

There is both a book and movie. A friend kept badgering me to read/watch but it's not my thing.

Yoshida wrote:There is both a book and movie.

The film is good, but it is a very different beast from the book. I don't have much time to spare for story books but when I do it's mainly sci-fi. Heinlein is one of my favourites.
The book is from the point of view of a willing participant in this pseudo fascist society, whereas the film holds up the culture for your judgement.
When you read it you have to remember that Rico's own bigotries are built into the text. Heinlein never really brings attention to this but the opening chapter tries, in a typically lax Heinlein manner to convey this in Rico's ambivalence towards the "skinnies". He doesn't even tell us their real name, they are either "skinnies" or "targets". The place the humans are attacking seems to be a simple (alien) farming town, though we are never clearly told. Again in Rico's mind it is just another target. It is also apparent in Rico's fatalistic attitude towards others who die during training. Rico is proud of being a part of this warmachine and doesn't really question it.
The book is also an exercise for Heinlein, who was a solider for a while, to imagine warfare in the age of the jetsons....
sci-fi is a great way to explore and examine different societies, I think that's the main reason I read it.
