How has your country handled vaccinating their population against COVID? your IRL country, not NS

Mat She wrote:How has your country handled vaccinating their population against COVID? your IRL country, not NS

Like the rest of the EU, but worse. I'm scheduled to get the shot on July at the earliest, but probably around October. If you really want me to I'll rant again (for the fourth time or so?) about Spain's poor handling of the pandemic, but I don't have the time right now.

They provided some vaccine. But it is still below the requirements. China is about to decline our vaccine deal. They started to look on Russian one

about the poll

if we clone the animals, we have to feed the clones too, and that means less fields for human food

Furthermore, cloning seems a lot more expensive than breeding more animals.

I almsot forgot!

Good Morning Everyone! :D

10ki wa secretariat

The Secretariat has published a voting overview for the current GA proposal Repeal: "Protected Working Leave":

Overview

Proposal:
This proposal aims to repeal GA#527 for vague and imprecise phrasing and terminology, as well as for creating a loop hole allowing time-limited workers to file for paid leave for the total duration of their work period.

Opinions:

For:

Meretica wrote:"Given that the Meretican delegation has been alerted to the existence of a replacement and has read the document thoroughly and discussed its effects, we will be changing our vote to aye on the matter of repealing "Protected Working Leave.""

Freedom Williams, Representative of Meretica to the World Assembly and Senator from New Memphis

Pekares wrote:I can agree that is the reason international exists in the form of the WA.
And, in my view people should locally decide their own laws, and not be regulated by people elsewhere. This is why I support this repeal. Because I draw the line of how much the WA should "encroach" somewhat close to establishing the fundamental human right and freedoms, as the things international law should regulate. This "line" is different from nation to nation here.
I viewed it as the right thing to do, to voice my opinion here, and provide people with a reason to vote yes. Then it is up to people to decide how to vote in the end.

Against:

Osheiga wrote:Point 1 hinges a lot on the fact that “reasonable” isn’t defined, but the example chosen of a worker being on paid leave indefinitely shouldn’t be considered reasonable by anyone despite what the proposal argues. Our delegation has similar problems with point 3, since the same scenario also fails the “reasonability” test - if an employee is on paid leave for the entirety of their contact, it’s not a reasonable usage.

In addition, point 4 seems like a logistics issue more than one the WA needs to deal with, since “...if an analysis would deem the former to be able to do so on paper, while in reality circumstances would be different...” is simply assuming member nations are using flawed calculations for businesses, which isn’t an issue the original proposal is creating and therefore isn’t a valid reason to repeal in our delegation’s point of view.

With the points the Osheigan delegation takes issue with excluded, there simply isn’t enough substance left to justify a full repeal.

Nyxonia wrote:If they want further definition added to what is considered reasonable leave then they can pass an addendum to the law to clarify it. People that want a repeal are engaged in a form of trickery to repeal but to then take forever (or never) to issue replacement legislation.

An addendum should encompass a more thorough suite of worker rights protections. Maybe make it five or six points in the legislation and the last point would be the immediate repeal-and-replace of this law so there are no gaps in the protections or rights.

But, the people who are really behind this repeal are too cowardly; They just want this gone so they can get back to business as usual of treating employees like tools that they can dispose of at will.

Hi! Welcome to XKI! Please don't post multiple times in a row in the future. If you need to add anything, you can always edit your original post!

Good in some places, not so good in others. I actually got my first shot yesterday.
