Welcome to the 10000 Islands Job and Political Parties Fair

For the next two hours - from 8 PM to 10 PM Eastern Time - we will be holding the first panel of the 10000 Islands Job and Political Parties fair. This event is a chance for anyone, whether you're brand new or have been here for years, to talk in real time with our regional officials and Party leadership about how to get involved in the region! Ask your questions and get to know us.

During this panel we will have four job representatives and one Political Party representative here to talk to you!

Ten thousand Islands Treaty Organization (TITO)
TITO is what 10000 Islands is best known for.
TITO is comprised of many Islanders and their puppet nations located throughout Nation States. We are World Assembly members who move our membership to a defender nation whenever it is needed. Those tactical WA nations are then quickly moved to regions that are under threat from raiders. Raiders may strike a region at any time, often doing damage, making life unpleasant for natives, and ejecting elected leaders. Raiders are destructive, and don’t care about those in the regions they invade. TITO cares, and we do whatever we can do spot, prevent, liberate, and restore peaceable regions in jeopardy. This is how we stand up to the destructive bullies of the game, and it’s all very real. Being a TITO member is challenging, rewarding, and provides members an opportunity to contribute to a better gaming environment for all. It’s an entirely different dimension to gameplay. For those interested in applying to TITO, we are happy to guide and teach, and we’ll be on the RMB to answer your questions during our 3 scheduled sessions.

Today, TITO is represented on the RMB by THX1138. TITO positions are volunteer.

10000 Islands Cultural Office
The Cultural Office is a relatively new government office in 10000 Islands, focused on running and promoting cultural events in the region. Recent events include a National Animal Competition and an NS Trading Cards pull event for a former Islander.

We're always looking for new members to help in two different ways:
New Ideas/General: These Cultural Office Assistants are responsible for assisting the Cultural Officer in planning and organizing events and coming up with ideas for new events.
NS Trading Cards: These Cultural Office Assistants are responsible for running a handful of "card farm puppets" to collect high value cards for the Cultural Office to give away as incentives in events. This is a great opportunity to get mentorship in a highly technical and complex area of the game. Trading Cards are also a highly rewarding but labor intensive sub-game within NationStates. It's not for everyone, but I'd recommend everyone give it a shot!

Today, the Cultural Office is represented by myself HumanSanity. Cultural Office Assistants are paid 2,000 Tacos per month.

10000 Islands Ministry of Immigration
The Ministry of Immmigration is focused on recruiting new members to join 10000 Islands by sending telegrams to newly created nations encouraging them to join.

Today, the Ministry of Immigration is represented by Minister THX1138. Regional recruiters are paid 20 Tacos per telegram they send, 50 Tacos per successful recruit, and additional bonuses upon reaching recruiting goals.

Foreign Affairs Department
The Foreign Affairs Department is seeking new emissaries and ambassadors to represent 10000 Islands to other regions. Emissaries are tasked with showing a friendly face for 10000 Islands in those regions, delivering monthly updates to those regions, and reporting back to the Delegate and Chief Executive with developments in their regions.

Today, the Foreign Affairs Department is represented by Delegate Kuriko. Emissaries are paid 2,000 Tacos per month.

The Circle Party (TCP)
The Circle Party is founded out of a respect for our constitutional system, it’s preservation and continuation. TCP respects the traditions of 10000 Islands in all their forms, and seek to provide a voice for their existence and value in reform debates. TCP adheres to principles of Traditionalism, Incrementalism, and Defenderism.
Traditionalism: TCP believes that the values our constitutional system holds have provided an enormous benefit to the stability and security of our region. As such we feel it important to recognize and promote that value in discussions and debates centered around reform. We remain cautious of any efforts to undermine the letter or intent of our founding. We are also committed to the belief that senators and ministers first duty is to the functions of their office, and are committed to running with a view toward upholding these duties.
Incrementalism: TCP recognizes the need for reform discussions, and accepts that changes can be made within 10000 Islands. However, TCP also believes that those elected to lead the region have an obligation and duty toward legislative restraint and humility. The best reforms and improvements that we can make in the Islands are ones which build upon the history and legacy of 10000 Islands.
Defenderism: TCP supports the mission and independence of TITO and Command in their efforts to secure for all regions their autonomy and right to self determine - and against all those aggressor regions. TCP firmly supports the advocacy and promotion of our Defender values, both domestically and internationally.
TCP endeavors to bring these principles to our campaigns and governance, promote and advocate for their consideration by other parties, and remain open to the possibilities of the future.

Welcome to the 10000 Islands Job and Political Party Fair

Islanders,

After Discussion in the Council of Nine, the Ministry of Labor is hosting a Job and Political Party Fair on the regional message board to increase our outreach to members of the on-site community, foster mentoring and personal connections, fill our existing job vacancies, and recruit for regional Political Parties.

During three time-slots, senior members of the region and its government will be online on our Regional Message Board to help take your input, find jobs for you that match your interest and skill sets, advertise political parties and help you find which one best matches your outlook, and generally helping you find your place in the region.

Each time slot is two hours long and has up to five employers and/or political parties who are advertising during that time. At the beginning of each two-hour session, I will post on the RMB with all of the relevant employers and political parties, a brief description, and the contact person for them. From there, you can either start talking to employers and/or political party representatives on the regional message board or via telegram. This is an opportunity to foster mentoring connections and answer your questions.

Cultural Office Assistant	HumanSanity	2,000 per month	General: Assist the Cultural Officer in planning and organizing cultural events. NS Trading Cards: The Cultural Office is looking for Cultural Office Assistants to each run a handful of card farm puppets under the supervision of the Cultural Officer to harvest high value cards to use as incentives in Cultural Office events. Cultural Office Assistants will be asked to keep around 20 puppets and farm them about 3 times a week, which is an expected time commitment of 20-30 minutes per week.
Regional Recruiter	THX1138	20 per telegram, 50 per recruit, bonuses for reaching medals.	The region always needs help recruiting new nations, and it's a massive way to contribute to the Islands. It's also a great way to make money while helping grow the region.
Emissary	Kuriko	2,000 per month	Emissaries represent 10000 Islands to the our embassy regions and report back to the Delegate and Chief Executive on happenings in those regions.

Note that many positions have a specific pay system. Many are paid out through the Ministry of Labor's payroll system. Wages are paid in "Tacos" which is our regional currency on the forum - it can be used to purchase shop items, stocks, map upgrades, etc. You'll need to be on the forum to earn Tacos.

Some distinctive things about MSPP include: MSPP values people over process: At MSPP, our foremost goal is to support our members and help the Islands, without all the usual negative aspects of politics. We are totally consensus-driven. For example, we have no rigid primary process to select our candidates for elections, and we decide on all plans, policies and platforms by mutual agreement. Want to make MSPP better? Dive right in and discuss your ideas with the others. If we like it, we do it. MSPP members do big things—and will support you doing them too: MSPP members have served as ministers, senators, and delegates; commanded defense operations in TITO; written many important laws; and come up with scores of new ideas to make the Islands a better place. Most importantly, though, each member of our scrappy group of dedicated members wants to help you get your voice heard here in XKI. MSPP is fun!: We at MSPP don't take ourselves too seriously. Keeping with the spirit of our namesake, the late Mayor of Taco Island Shelter from the Storm, MSPP is a party that parties! Welcoming Islands Party (WIP)	None.	Dorab	Our goal at the Welcoming Islands Party (WIP) is to include all nations, regardless of what platform they play on and how experienced they are. We have three main values: inclusiveness, retention, and roleplay. Retention: We believe it is important to recruit new nations to 10000 Islands and will incentivice recruiting and make it easier to start. But recruiting is more than just bringing nations to 10000 Islands, it is making nations stay in 10000 Islands. We want 10000 Islands to be a friendly place for new nations and will create many resources for new nations to use on the forum and on the NationStates site. Inclusiveness: Behind each nation is a person, and not all people can access the NS site, XKI forum, and Discord. To include everyone, we need to slowly transition features to all three platforms. Roleplaying: Roleplaying builds community in 10000 Islands and NationStates and will improve it by having more government run events.
