Hi

Kollumbia and Azulakas

'Ight, this one is more serious this time.

I'm looking forward to creating some backstory and information regarding my nation in my factbook. I'm considering creating a brand new region specifically to fit in these informations. Is it a good idea? And could I also get some tips about worldbuilding? I would highly appreciate your help, as well as opinions.

For worldbuilding, one should start with generalizations. Do not get stuck in the details, they can come later and over time.

If you feel you have a good feel of the game, then I say it's not a bad idea to try and make your own region.

My nation is very free and people are happy but the economy is in shambles. Anyone know how to fix this?

do issues and choose the options that involve freer markets or monetizing things

I can see you ve just started addressing issues. You can address up to 5 issues a day. Once you ve played actively for about 2 weeks, you will have addressed about 70 issues, at that point you will have some idea what ways of addressing issues have what kind of impact.

Issues that have economic impact are frequent so you will likely have made decisions on dozens of issues impacting economy by then.

Most sensible responses to issues improve the economy. To the extent imo where it's very hard not to improve your economy unless you don't address issues.

So basically, my opinion is, address issues and by the time you have addressed more than 50 issues (around 2wk to 4wks of active play), i would be very surprised if your economy isn't improved.

Another question I need to add - will anything in the factbook affect my gameplay? I know this might be a stupid question, but I think it would be cool if it did.

No it doesnt sadly, other than getting a few banners for writing a few things in your factbook it doesn't affect the way your country functions, you can alter that mainly through issues

SUMMARY REPORT FROM OUR LATEST POLL page=poll/p=160042
Out of curiosity, please give your feedback, do you guys actually like these summaries, let me know if you don't.

Hoplites! Based on your participation in what should a united Cape of Good Hope currency be called, here are the highlights:

  • 30 nations participated in this poll, which makes it among the highest participated polls in recent history

  • Unfortunately, the majority of nations (53%) voted that the whole idea was a bad one and that the cape shouldn't unite into a single currency. The message has been heard loud and clear but the outcome was also a bit unexpected as I only intended the poll to be hypothetical, 'If' all of the regions united into an EU like region with a unified currency, what should be the currency be called? (i.e. in the EU they use euros). Nonetheless, this option was for anyone who had strong feelings against such an idea and indeed many nations did!

  • In terms of people who did enjoy the idea, the option 'Golden Seashells' (proposed by Sparanoda) being a very Cape of Good Hope themed currency name, was the most popular option with 30% of the votes.

  • Second most popular choice was Capos, which I just randomly came up got the remaining 17% of all votes.

  • Surprisingly 'Hopes' did not receive any votes even though it was proposed as a name by several in the pre-poll. And 'Goods' also received no votes, probably for obvious reasons.

Thanks again for this poll topic and everyone who participated! If you have a poll idea please post it on here at the RMB or telegram me as it's almost assured to be made into an official poll.

Our next poll will be to determine the hosting nation for CGHIS2020 RP (Cape of Good Hope International Summit 2020) and, And as always, I'll put up the next regional poll soon.....

I quite appreciate your summaries. It brings this atmosphere of review, yet it isn't boring to read like most official dialogs. Its easy to read and I think it makes participating enjoyable.
