Noble Families of Basaran (Outdated)

Marlyn Family- The "original" Monarchy family. Started with Kane Marlyn in 1976 when he seized power and removed the old Celtic Council. His son, Stephen, solidified the concept of creating a monarchy in the early 2000s but the dream wouldn't be reached until 2136, 160 years later.
Ideology: Xenophile, Populist, Authoritarian

Hranji Family- A collection of families that banded together under an umbrella name. This family is the sole exclusive family of Basar originated Lamias. They finally returned to light after a century of hiding
Ideology: Fanatic Religious, Xenophobic

Malus Family- Closely tied to the Marlyns for centuries, this family has retained a presence in politics, and sits at the right hand of the Marlyn Family.
Ideology: Xenophile, Elitist, Libertarian

Jorgeson Family- Brutes, savages, fearless, this family thrives on the battlefield as front-line commanders but also as executioners.
Ideology: Fanatic Militarist, Xenophobic

Valkyrie Family- Cunning, smart, blunt. The Valkyries are the more "controlled" cousins of the Jorgesons. Better at sea and in the skies, they've made their name in boats and planes as admirals and air marshals.
Ideology: Militarist, Elitist, Industrialist

Merclain Family- A name that faded into obscurity, it is believed that the Merclains were alchemists and pharmacists in the ancient eras. Though they've returned to the limelight once more, their talent in the medicinal field never faded or dulled.
Ideology: Xenophile, Populist, Libertarian

Ideology: Pacifist, Materialist, Cooperative

Iscariot Family- Merchants, scammers, con-artists, thieves, this family is known for its stingy monetary habits and haggling abilities. Infamous for their loyalty to the Tiber Coin, if the money's right, the job is done.
Ideology: Elitist, Industrialist, Competitive

Icelynn- An Umbrella family of Wisps, sapient Ray Owls, and Jungpeas who achieved nobility status and favoritism with the reigning Marlyn family. More well known for their financial management and growth of the City of New Jacinto

Miller- A breakaway from the Mcfarlanes in the early days of Basaran, the Millers were farmers, breadmakers and foodies. Through the mastering the craft of milling grain into flour they received their name and still hold onto their megacorp "Miller's"
Ideology: Ecologist, Cooperative, Populist

Mcfarlane- Considered to be the religious zealots of the families, the Mcfarlanes can trace their roots to over two thousand years ago. Determined, albeit misguided, devout Grove Tenders, they cling to every word of Oakengrove with fervor but do they rarely get to display their devotion as Druids or Nymphs.

Graham- Consisting of conspiracy nuts, theorists and humanitarianism supporters, this family name became a popular figure in Basar politics in recent years. While some have criticized it for its "humanist" commentary, their focus has largely been on preserving Basar identity in the great melting pot, sometimes at the cost a few unfortunate people.
