The Commonwealth of Ixilland (CI) or Ixilland is a confederation of sovereign states who cooperate with one another as a result of shared history and maximum efficiency. The Ixilland government is highly decentralized with most of the power residing with its constituent members as well as their respective local governments. The Confederate Council serves as a collective head of state with the position of Chancellor rotating between each of the members on a yearly basis.

Ixill nationhood is built around the shared principles of self-determination, self-sufficiency, and common struggles that have been faced by Ixills over their history. In the international scene, the nation has ingrained this into it's foreign policy. It remains a policy of armed neutrality in terms of relations with other states.

Ixilland is a landlocked nation located in west central Paulandia. It has a primarily semiarid to desert climates. The terrain of Ixilland is varied, consisting of mountains, plateaus, deserts, and lowlands.

In an effort to be as decentralized as possible and encourage economic growth around the nation, Ixilland elects a new city to serve as capital for a certain term. The role carries great prestige for the city as well as serves as a source of economic development for the city and surrounding region. Any city or town in Ixilland is eligible. The winner is selected by a nationwide vote open to all citizens over the age of 18. There is no law preventing a capital for running for reelection, but generally the current capital abstains from making a bid. The current capital is Colmer's Pass. The most recent former capital is Isaacton.

The Ixill Civil War

The Ixill Civil War broke out in May 2018 as a result of disagreements between counties that felt the government was becoming too centralized and long standing unresolved issues between several counties. The election of Eliza Henderson as Commonwealth President proved controversial to members of the House of Representatives fearing a move to federalism. The passing of the so called "Lottocracy" law, creating new positions in the Ixill Congress for members of the public who would be chosen by random, was seen as a violation of the right to not participate in government by many counties. The local governments of Jopsa, Canyon, and Hammelo Counties (collectively subsequently declared their independence from Ixilland.

The Governing Council debated the correct course of action, but was hesitant to call for a militia to deal with the separatists. Many in the council were sympathetic to the cause of the separatists. The three counties in the Anatta Valley that declared independence were joined by the counties of Urux, Halsimore, Hageland, and Yomaking over the next few days. President Eliza Henderson called for the creation of an Ixill Army, bypassing the council in doing so and declaring a state of emergency. The move was met with mixed reactions, with some calling it an overreach of power.

Hammelo-Urux War

The separatist counties formed no unity among themselves. Urux County militias immediately seized the controversial High Mesa Dam in neighboring Hammelo County, destroying it in the process. The Free Uruxmen Militia continued into Hammelo County territory seizing more territory on behalf of Urux County.

The government was later founded as the United counties of Ixilland, which later became the United States of Ixilland.
