"For the first time in years, Suriyye is free. Unlike the Ba'ath, we will not refuse anyone their right to free speech. Ba'ath, the Social Nationalists, everyone! they're all free to speak and act. Democracy will run its course!"
- President Nima Dalal, asking The Federated Council not to ban any political party.

Nimal Dalal (Farsi: نیما دلّال‎) is a Syrian-kurdish politician in the Democratic Republic of Federated Syria. Since 10 November 2017, he holds the office of President of the Federated Syria. Dalal is an ethnic Kurd with Iranian background, and has served in the SDF and YPG military for years before their victory.

Early Life

Nima was not Syrian by birth. Born in Sanandaj, the capital of Iranian Kurdistan barely before the Revolution could happen, He spent the first four years of his life in Iran. Then, the Revolution of 1979 Happened, and his parents, both Kurdish Nationalists, saw the possible war and/or Governmental repression to be soon to follow, and fled to Syria in the early 1981, just before the Iran-Iraq war and the Kurdistan Campaign by the Iranian Army could begin. Fleeing to Syria, they made their home in the Kurdish regions of Syria, particularly the city of Efrîn. Unlike his parents, who would continue bemoaning the poor state of life for the Kurds (and various other religious and ethnic minorities in Syria), Nima was quick to leave all nationalist sensibilities aside. When he was drafted to the Syrian Arab Army by the national conscription, he did not leave once his term of service was over, instead joining the Army was a paid member.

Military Campaigns

In the Syrian Army
Of course, as a member of the Syrian Army, Nima was responsible for many atrocities, even so far as slaughtering protestors, intimidating them by using armored divisions when necessary, for years. He rose through the ranks, becoming a colonel of the army in record time (8 years).

In the YPG
Following the beginning of the Syrian Civil War, Nima resigned from his post, honorably discharged from the army and going back to Efrîn early as the war began.
For a year, he tried his best to calm the people of the city who were growingly aggitated at the government, until the War took its ugly rear upon the people of Efrîn. YPG, a militia not-yet-affiliated with the SDF, captured the city in their primary operations on securing a Democratic Federation of Northern Syria. Seeing as he believed in their ideology the best (and secretly missing the military life), Nima volunteered to join the People's Protection Units, and was recruited with a high rank, and as a Brigadier was in charge of many operations.

With the increased Islamist attacks on religious/ethnic minorities (particularly the Yazidis), Nima took a continuously more aggressive stance against Radical Islamism, and then theocracy in general. after the capture of Ras al-Ayn, Brigadier Dalal was one of the first to take up arms again, effectively joining the first militias on point to liberate the city. By 2013, he had led more than 270 of the 500 YPG militia who had liberated the city of Ras-al-Ayn.
The Battle and the following Anti-kurdish campaigns by the extremist Islamists had an unwanted but not unwelcome result. The Units were soon proven to be the only Kurdish force capable of taking any enemy in a battle and surviving, and united the Kurdish people of Syria under their banner. by 2014, the YPG had stopped being a Kurdish nationalist militia, with the induction of the Assyrian militia into their ranks, and had officially declared war on the newly risen ISIL.

In the SDF
It was early 2015 when the new SDF was formed, with the YPG as one of its many forces. Dalal's introduction to Pilarcraft, and his future as a leader were begun in what would eventually be called 'Kobani Deflection'. The ISIL forces staged an attack on the city of Kobani on 25 June, only to be stopped by the joint effort of Bjorlam Erikson's 45th Battalion and Dalal's Brigade. This success, which would build the foundation of the Military alliance between SDF and CAAF, was also when he was promoted to Lieutenant general, in charge of SDF's 25th Division as the SDF did not have enough personnel to put in a corps.

The Following months from 2015 to early 2017 were a series of consecutive victories by the SDF (With the casualties minimalized as they trained with new and superior weaponry and techniques), until he was issued an order to join the SDF forces in the Battle of Raqqa.
Leading the 25th Division, with more than 10,000 soldiers from the YPG, YPJ, and various military councils in Rojava's cantons, Dalal was part of the Military High Command in the battle, co-oping with both the Middleman Entente and CJTF–OIR in the mission, and was influential in decreasing the destruction of the city, with a smart strategy and a no-mercy policy in the early end of the battle. By 17 October, Dalal had succeeded in his own part of the battle, and was one of the many who personally put the YPG and the SDF flags in Raqqa.

As it was the deal with the Entente, Dalal and his 25th division were part of the force that quickly marched towards Damascus on 20 October, and aided in taking down the SAA and the law enforcement forces in the city, eventually taking down the government in 25 October and declaring the Ba'athist Republic to have fallen.

President

Dalal was not part of the Syrian Democratic Council that took over for about a month, and had little idea about what was going on, but when the SDC declared that an election would be held on the 5th of November, he was convinced to candidate himself.
Winning with 47% of the votes, Dalal was sworn in as the First President of Federated Syria in the 10th of November, suddenly in charge of a war-torn country that was still in war, in most of the places.

Economic Policy
While a Democratic Confederalist, Dalal was not a socialist. He soon realized that in the suddenly wartorn Syria, Socialism would need to be employed but not forced. That was why while he welcomed Private Enterprises to employ efforts in the country, he did not allow the major resources such as Energy and the Minerals to be privatized, nationalizing and then collectivizing them early into his term.
It is debated whether or not he plans to continue having them collectivized or not, but he has recently declared that he can not, and will not, leave them to be used by private entities until he has used all that is needed to rebuild Syria First.

Education Policy
Dalal has a high focus on Education, putting about 26% of the national budget on Education, with that particular sector being the only place where he is absolutely and mercilessly stoic, refusing to compromise with the corrupt system. He stopped the Ba'athi educational system and its indoctrination effort by criminalizing historical revisionism, and has ensured that the majority of the nation's teachers are neutral.
While stopping the Public sector's funding of the Higher Education, welcoming private colleges and universities to be built and ran, he made a 10 years-long education mandatory for everyone from the age of 8 to 18, with more focus on Humanities, Math, Physics, and Economics.

Social Policy
One of Dalal's main policies was the secularization of the country. He officially stopped all places of worship from being Tax-exempt, taxing them like any other private enterprise, Something that got the religious authorities of The Entire Middle east mad at him early in his term.
Another of his missions was attempting to calm every single rebellious faction remaining in Syria. After the failed Febraury attack by Turkey, the FSA and the SAA both agreed to stop fighting while the majority of the military forces of foreign nations had left by March 2018. by the April of 2018, the last remnants of the ISIL were destroyed in both Iraq and Syria, and Syria was finally stabilized.

International Policy
Apart from officially joining the Middleman Alliance as soon as he had assumed power, Dalal continued trade with the members of the CJTF–OIR, opening trade and diplomatic relations with many countries in the Western Europe as well as the Northern America.
Following the ASME doctrines, he allowed the newly founded Syrian Democratic Army (formed by mixing the SDF, the SAA, the SFA remnants, etc. etc.) to start official operations in the other regions, particularly Iraq and Lebanon, and then in Dual israel when the Jewish and the Islamist factions started fighting to take power during the short power vacuum.

Personal Information

Nima is a soldier. That much can easily be seen. As a former Soldier both in the Syrian Army and then the Syrian Democratic Army, he has experienced combat in various forms. That makes his remain adamant about many things: He does not fail to keep himself in shape, or keep himself trained in both marksmanship and soldier-style combat experience. He has a strict daily routine that he follows, mostly, to the letter, and has yet to fail in doing so.

As a veteran of a bloody civil war, Dalal is a supporter of self-defense, self-arming, and an armed populace (which resulted in some of his policies that got his nation called, jokingly, "Armed Republic" by many of the other national leaders at one point of the other during his first term) and having seen what happened in Syria, he believes he needs to remain in touch with the people he is elected to be the head-of-state of. This makes him appear in the public quite often.

This one perhaps a secret, as it has not been proven and he has yet to deny nor confirm this, He may or may not be homosexual. Reports of this, made by the Syrian Arab Army during his term as the Lieutenant General of the SDF, to discredit him, shown that he may have had a relationship with a close friend and fellow officer, Bjorlam Erikson of the Confederal Alliance Armed Forces. He has yet to reply to the question substantially, normally answering questions such as "Mr. Dalal, can you confirm if the reports made by the former Republican SAA are true?" "I will neither confirm nor deny anything. please stop digging into my personal life, ma'am" while, ironically, he has never replied in such a way to other questions that may invade his personal life.

Quotes

“The Free Syrian Army has no more reason to fight! Syria is free. Bashar Assad is toppled, and we have been trying to fix his mistakes for months now. We have stopped fighting. We ask the Free Syrian Army to join us in our shared peace. We promise we will welcome you with open arms!”

“Iran's oppressive and murderous regime is down. Syria's apartheid regime is down. it is our pride that we were what gave them reason to do so. Never doubt the power of small people in large numbers!”
