[EN] Republica House Election, October 2017

This election will determine which political parties will be present in Republica House, Alchender’s seat of national parliament and government.

The election is dated for Friday the 13th October, 2017. Polling commences at 07:00 and ends at 23:30. All times are for the UTC+1 time zone; it is advised voters outside of this region visit a website such as thetimezoneconverter.com, to convert these times to their area’s time zone. Planning a time to vote within this frame will prevent disappointment in trying to vote later.

All internet users are eligible to cast one ballot on the voting webpage at the bottom of this text. On the first page, select your preferred language of either English or Portuguese. You will be then be able to vote for three separate parties, using your first, second, and third votes. It is mandatory to provide an option for each vote. Each party you choose will receive one point, regardless of which order you vote. Once you are satisfied with your ballot, click “Submit”. Note that in the event of a duplicate vote made on a ballot, the party voted for more than once will still only be given one point.

Parties on the ballot:
Bizarre Solution Party
Will usually pick the most non-conventional policy offered within an issue. British tourists have remarked its similarities to their country's Monster Raving Loony Party.

Capitalism Party
Promotes the ideals of capitalism, and has a large focus on the economy. Business subsidisation, economic freedom, and efforts to reduce the size of the welfare budget are the party's main policies.

English Language Party
Campaigns against the use of Portuguese within the state of Alchender, and favours socially conservative and authoritarian policy. It will choose to vote against policies seen as promoting compassion and social equality.

Evolve
A political party who argues for technological and scientific advancement, to promote what it describes as an increased standard of living within Alchender. Corporate subsidisation is favoured when necessary.

Green Party
Promotes an economy based on providing a better-quality environment and focuses on making business, industry, and government more sustainable for future generations.

Liberty Alchender
Aims to promote political freedom and civil rights within Alchender, as part of a libertarian movement. The party hopes to also reduce the amount of authoritarianism in the country and promote equality and compassion among the population.

National Security Party
A hard authoritarian party which aims to focus most on policing and defence, in order to best increase safety. Will likely try to divide the "native" population from new immigration to the country.

None of the Above
If this party receives fewer than five seats, it will abstain from attending parliamentary sessions. If more than five seats are obtained by the party, it will pass policy to reduce the size of government, in an attempt to bring it to zero. Critics have accused the party of being one that will literally do nothing once in Republica House.

United Workers Party
Campaigns for workers' rights, income equality, and overall inclusiveness, following socialist policies. Its main method of doing so is through additional taxation and investment in health, education, and welfare.
