The EIA is divided into 25 divisions of three different types: mechanized divisions, armored divisions, and infantry divisions. The headquarters of the EIA is in Adis Ababa, along with the headquarters of the Imperial Ministry of Defense and Preparation.

Imperial Marine Force

"ኢምፔራዊ የባህር ኃይል"

Personnel: 146,265
Submarines: 6

The Imperial Marine Forces is manned by over 146,000 personnel. It is the second highest priority branch of the Imperial Defese Forces due to the long coastline of the Imperial Union. The majority of the Ethiopian naval vessels are assigned to fleets which are scheduled throughout the year for maintenance, leave, training, and patrol missions. Vessels are not filled to maximum crew capacity during times of peace, but as per the Royal Defense Act of 1937 a draft can be used to fill out the remaining spots during times of war if necessary. All surface ships are assigned to one of 4 fleets, and the submarines are assigned to separate submarine ports. The headquarters of the IMF is in Massawa.

The Imperial Air Liberation Force is a powerful force in regional affairs, And it has been the branch that the Imperial Government has invested the most into in recent decades, due to the realization that air superiority is critical to a successful ground war in this new age of warfare. Despite that, government funding for the air force has been planned to increase 15% in the 1990. Nearly 100,000 people are employed by the IALF. Aircraft of the branch are located in IALF installations across the country, with several installations being under the authority of the Office of the Interior. The IALF headquarters is in Mogadishu.
