The Federal Republic of North Saitama [北埼玉連邦共和国 {Kitasaitama renpō kyōwakoku}] is a small, partially mountainous, partially flat, nation on the Japanese archipelago, encompassing the former Saitama prefecture, along with the territory of former Ibaraki prefecture.

Etymology
"Saitama" originally referred to the land across the Tamagawa River. The Federal Republic of North Saitama mostly refers to the original territory of the nation, which occupied what was formerly northern Saitama prefecture.

History

The Federal Republic of North Saitama was established after the surrender of Japan after World War II, during which, a civil war broke out between various areas of Japan. The movement was established out of Kumagaya by Colonel Ryuuichi Honda, a rogue officer rumoured to be descended from a dragon.

The civil government of North Saitama was chartered in 1947, following the consolidation of Saitama, holding its first elections the following year, in 1948. Ryuuichi Honda was overwhelmingly elected as the first Prime Minister of North Saitama, a role he held until 1958, when he stepped-down and retired from the public light.

In early 1952, the militant Socialist Republic of Chiba attacked North Saitama outposts along the Edogawa River, leading to the Federal Republic's first war, in which they handily pushed-back the forces of Chiba, and annexed Ibaraki, at the time held by the Socialist Republic of Chiba.

By 1958, the North Saitama economy had recovered from turmoil, and even started-up a successful auto manufacturing base.
