5th Abdoa government - 12-Point Plan

Noting the lack of activity of the previous government, and believing that the Government's activity is key to the endurance of prosperity of the Union my government will:

1) Implement the provisions of SO#2017-14 (“On Judicial Rights and Procedures”): set up the Union’s judicial system for the protection of the citizens and Law of the Union. IN PROGRESS
2) Implement the provisions of SO#2017-35 (“World Factbook Entry Act”) so as to better present our region to the NationStates community at-large. DONE JULY 5
3) Implement the provisions of SO#2017-41 (“Regional Sport Act”) to boost activity within the Union. IN PROGRESS
4) Work closely with the President of the Union to elaborate strategies and structures to best defend the Union from invaders. IN PROGRESS
5) Create a new, more permanent, quarterly Union Newspaper as a government publication promoting the Union and providing a space for ordinary citizens to express themselves and their opinions. PENDING
6) Introduce legislation to reform, reorganize, and re-energize the Cabinet, and strengthen its ties to the Parliament. DONE JULY 7
7) Be more diverse, active, and accountable to the Parliament: I will require that all of my ministers win Votes of Confidence at the beginning of the next Parliament for them to continue their service. DONE JULY 7
8) Conduct a complete overhaul of the Union Constitution, including incorporation of the Union Charter of Rights and Freedoms as an appendix to the Constitution. PENDING
9) Introduce legislation to create a Culture and Activities Parliamentary Commission, which will propose activities to further regional activity and development to the various departments of government concerned. PENDING
10) Amend the Parliamentary Procedure Orders to formalize the create of Parliamentary Groups and Caucuses, which will have various special privileges within the parliament. PENDING
11) Push for the citizens of the Union to be consulted via referendum on controversial issues. PENDING
12) Introduce legislation to regulate Non-Governmental Organizations and Associations. DONE JULY 31

NEW! 5) Continue to revamp the Cabinet, including promulgating an Administrative Code regulating various aspects of Cabinet service.
6) Conduct a complete overhaul of the Union Constitution, including incorporation of the Union Charter of Rights and Freedoms as an appendix to the Constitution and a full consultation with the people of the Union in the process.
7) Introduce a motion to create a Culture and Activities Parliamentary Commission, which will propose activities to further regional activity and development to the various departments of government concerned.
8) Amend the Parliamentary Procedure Orders to formalize the create of Parliamentary Groups and Caucuses, which will have various special privileges within the parliament.
9) Push for the citizens of the Union to be consulted via referendum on controversial issues.
NEW! 10) Continue to promote and encourage, all while protecting and regulating, various aspects of non-governmental citizen's engagement within the community, through the Citizen's Forum and the recently created Union Discord server.
NEW! 11) Assemble for unofficial publication, as a work of collaboration between the Chair's Office, the Office of Jurisprudence, and the Office of Communications, a complete and accessible reference book for the Union's diverse and intertwined laws.
NEW! 12) Push for a more forward approach in seeking out other regions in NationStates to develop relationships with, through embassies and also possibly through the mutual exchange of ambassadors.
