How long have you been in the region? Since around 5/1/17
Would you consider yourself very active, moderately active, or barely active? Moderately Active (im at least once a day)
Are you looking to improve your activity level and become more involved in the region? Yes, im still very new but am working tirelessly to get all my factbooks written and done
What is your nation's name, and what is its etymology? Gherrum (Gher as in Gary / Rum as in the liquor). Took its name from the Ancient warlord that first began Gherrum's unification.
How old is your nation, who did it get its independence from, and how? Unification from a mass of warring states began in 932 AD and concluded in 1607 AD
Would you describe your nation as first-world (USA/Europe), second-world (China/Russia/South America), or third-world (Africa, Oceania)? 2nd World
How would you describe your nation in three to five adjectives? Patriotic - Proud - Cultured

What real life Earth nation is your nation closest to culturally, if you had to pick? Poland + Habsburg Austrian
Is your population mostly homogeneous, or are there multiple cultural or racial groups? If the latter, describe the makeup and differences. Broadly Homogeneous, immigration is strictly controlled and regulated. A strong Jewish community, known as Kharaks, exist to the west.
What languages are most commonly spoken? Gherrun (Germanic language, similar to English and German but with clear Slavic influences)
What religions are most commonly practiced? Eastern Orthodoxy and Atheism are the two primary 'Belief Systems'. However a Jewish minority exists in the Western regions
Are your people collectivists or individualists? Collectivists

Is your economy best described as capitalist or communist/command? Generally capitalist, with certain Socialist institutions like nationalized healthcare
Are businesses more or less restricted on what they can do compared to the United States? Slightly more
Does an average person in your nation have a higher or lower standard of living than an average American? Generally the same, lower in rural areas
Is an average person in your nation influenced by the government on which career they should enter? Working class children will normally go into their parent's profession, while middle class and upwards often have the freedom to chose.
Is there a wide degree of social economic classes, and how hard is it to become very wealthy? The population consists of a Working Class, Middle Class, an upper middle class, and a small aristocracy. Extreme wealth is limited mostly to the aristocracy and a limited amount of businessmen.
What is the extent of governmental welfare and charity organizations? Government welfare is not widespread outside of certain necessities (food to communities in need, Seeds and subsidies for struggling farmers, etc)

In layman's terms, what is your government form? Constitutional Monarchy, although the Royal Family still wields massive amounts of power.
Does your government adequately represent all citizens? Generally yes
Do you have a king, dictator, president, or other leader who can unilaterally make important decisions without any significant consequences? While the King has a great deal of power, his decisions are not Absolute.
Is any group not permitted to vote? Only Tax payers that are over 21
Do your citizens have all basic human rights? If not, which ones do they lack? Yes, though the culture is remarkably xenophobic

Is your military a major part of your national identity? Yes, Gherrum has been a warlike culture since the Middle Ages. Though in recent times this violent spirit has been curbed for the sake of international relations
Does your nation emphasize the navy, air force, or land forces more than the others? Gherrum's Navy and ground forces are relatively large, but slightly outdated. The Royal Air Force is up to regional standard due mostly to Gherrum's burgeoning aerospace program
Does your nation have any form of a draft or required service? While military service is not typically mandatory, it ensures a well paying job and often an education. Therefore many Farmer's sons, dissatisfied with their quiet life, join the military to escape the monotony of the heartland. After they retire from their service, they will often use the trade they learned at one of Gherrum's military universities in order to find themselves more stable and peaceful jobs.
How highly regarded are soldiers and veterans? Soldiers and Veterans are held in high esteem, often seen as the Pride of the family and community they hail from.
How well trained and treated are your soldiers? Varies dramatically. A Soldier who volunteers for service in the interior guard, for example, will receive relatively little training . Soldiers are otherwise trained to Regional Standard

What are some of your nation's biggest flaws or problems? Gherrum's antique political system can often lead to deadlock. The Parliament is required to select their leader from within the Extended Royal family (Children and Cousins typically). This leads to the Parliament seeking out the family member most diametrically opposed to the current king. Even then Parliament can only dominate the Monarch if it is nearly totally unified, which in itself is a rarity.
What is the state and outlook of infrastructure in your nation? Ranges from excellent in the larger cities (especially the Capitol of Abendrot) to Somewhat poor in the smaller cities and towns. Roads are plentiful, but also vary greatly in both use and upkeep.
What is the state and outlook of the environment in your nation? the Gherrun people are exceptionally proud of their History and culture. Numerous National Parks protect a host of Historic Gherrun Forests, Castles, and Ruins.
What is the state and outlook of education in your nation? K-12 Education is provided by the Government. Some of the Lower Working class opt out at 8th grade so they can learn their trade alongside their parents. Those who seek education past Grade 12 and cannot afford the tuition for higher learning often join the military for a chance to gain an education and earn some decent money.
What is the state and outlook of healthcare in your nation? entirely Nationalized, otherwise on par with regional standards
What is the state and outlook of the economy in your nation? Generally Capitalist. Though larger businesses are regulated to a point, smaller local businesses are left mostly to their own devices.

Is your nation isolationist to any degree? Gherrum can be considered isolated culturally but not economically or politically. Gherrun people are considerably xenophobic, but this does not translate to their foreign policy which is very eager for new alliances and treaties.
How likely is it for your nation to intervene in conflicts they may not have a significant stake in? Highly probable, whether on behalf of some vague ally or ancient oath or due to some other transgression (real or otherwise)
Is your nation a part of any major military or political alliances? Currently involved in a Join Defence pact with their neighbor to the north Rooenan

How likely is it that your nation would break or renege on an alliance or promise? Not likely, unless situations were extremely dire
How stable is your nation's government? Considerably stable: a lack of extreme poverty, ethnically and culturally homogeneous population, strong centralized military, and generations old ideals of service to King and Country ensure that both the Government and Royal Family remain comfortably in power.
