The Aequalitas Party is based on an idea of having Social Conservatism and Social Equality, founded by Ethyrum imperial republic, which focuses on retaining nationality while giving opportunities to all, not based upon ones origins. The party was created on the 9th of April 2016, answering the request for political parties with the region of The Place That Has No Big Banks. As a party of The Region That Has No Big Banks, the laws and ideals of the party are meant to mirror that of the region itself. While the region does not force its members to follow or hold any of the positions the region or the parties within it hold.
The Aequalitas Party views mirror Socialist Economics which starts from the premise that, "Individuals do not live or work in isolation but live in cooperation with one another. Furthermore, everything that people produce is in some sense a social product, and everyone who contributes to the production of a good is entitled to a share in it. Society as a whole, therefore, should own or at least control property for the benefit of all its members."
Party Structure
Chairman - The figure head of the regional party and is voted in during an anonymous voting process. The main job of the Chairman is overviewing policies and activities within the party and coordinating with the region's WA Delegate on official choices by the party.
Chairman's Advisor - The Chairman's Advisor does as the name suggest, and advises the Chairman. In addition, the designated nation also deals with less serious matters and acts as a replacement of the Chairman in case the nation isn't available for whatever reason.
Head of Party Policy - The Head of Party Policy handles affairs and issues within the party, while tallying votes and keep track of proposals from party members. The Head of Party Policy also reports to the Chairman, so that nation can then tell the WA Delegate about the party's decision.
Positions on Social Issues
Education - The Aequalitas Party supports free primary and secondary education, while offering programs for free college with prerequisites met first. Which is paid by a tax on imports and exports. This covers all expenses, including books, housing, food, ect for college going students. While also providing free lunch and breakfast, as well as extra healthy and educational activities for primary and secondary schooling. Colleges working on the private level will have very few requirements, except providing housing and food for students. Funding to primary and secondary schooling is always held just in case the system starts to fail, but it's also used to help impoverished and disabled children to get an education. While standardized testing is looked down upon, it's required in some subjects, but it doesn't count towards a final grade. However, there's one class in both primary and secondary schooling that teaches the culture of the nation and overall promotes pride for the nation.
Civil Rights - The Aequalitas Party supports women's rights, the LGBT community, transgender equality, and marriage rights for all. Most Aequalitas, called Progressive Aequalitas, support abortion to the extent of the second trimester, believing a woman has the right to her own body. However, some do not support it, who are often referred to as Conservative Aequalitas. Aequalitas also support human embryonic stem cell research, and both eugenics and human enhancement. The party believes that contraceptives should be widely available, but not given to just anyone. Though some programs exist that help impoverished or raped women get the proper contraceptives. Anyone working the same job and producing the same amount of work shall make the same amount of wage, without exceptions. Women will be promised a 6 month family paid leave if they prove they're pregnant.
All discrimination based upon differences is illegal. As such, transgenders may use whatever gender-separated facility corresponding bathroom that they identify with. A 9 program in school will be mandatory every 3 years in schooling that teaches from acceptance of different races to acceptance of differences at all and to identifying what a healthy relationship is and how to identify and avoid an abusive one.
Racial Injustice - The Aequalitas Party condemns any form of racial injustice, and does not support acts of hate based on differences, discrimination, segregation, and any form of abuse to someone by the state, especially if it's based on differences between the abuser and victim. Without any single party being pointed, the Aequalitas party believes in giving equal opportunities to all, while teaching how to be more patriotic. To prevent any such acts, private prisons will be banned, and state-funded prisons shall be monitored to make sure no racial profiling occurs which ends in the arresting of a person based upon race.
In response to the evident police brutality, the program will be dropped and replaced by a system with better training and better communications. The system will teach to incapacitate, not to kill while in a dangerous situation. To get the movement going, all police stations will have a cut in money unless they choose to accept the program.
Welfare and Poverty - The Aequalitas Party believes individuals should take responsibility for their own circumstances to an extent. That social assistance programs often cause government dependency. Some agree there should be some "safety net" to assist the less fortunate, while limiting it to encourage employment and monitoring it to reduce abuse. The money for the limited welfare will come from a tax on homeowners, and the wealthier people of the community.
Positions on Domestic Issues
Drugs - The Aequalitas Party believes that all narcotics that prove to be more harmful to a user than it is good, should be outlawed within the state. This includes, but is not limited to, cocaine, crack, meth, and heroine. However, drugs such as marijuana will be legalized for the use within the user's home, and not permitted on public grounds where it does not explicitly allow it. Any offenders will receive punishment that involves a prison sentence having a major focus on rehabilitation instead of mere incarceration. Hallucogenic and relaxing narcotics will be legalized within controlled environments such as hospitals, with some allowing use at home. However, it'll be heavily monitored to insure none of the drugs are outside the set standards. Legal narcotics will be taxed and monitored closely to ensure quality and that standards are followed. Addicts shall be treated as victims and offered a rehab program and provided with clean materials to complete the process with, to prevent the spread of STD's through needles or mouth contact with widely used products.
Healthcare - The Aequalitas Party opposes a government-run single-payer health care system, claiming such a system constitutes socialized medicine. Government involvement should be minimal. Healthcare should be operated like a business in a free market-based system. Everyone is entitled to healthcare coverage. Those who can afford to pay should. There should be no free healthcare handouts if you can afford it. Aequalitas believe insurance should be mandated on a state by state basis. Federal funds should be diverted to states. The Party is against financial penalties if individuals fail to comply with mandate.
Enviroment - The Aequalitas Party supports extensive steps to protect the environment, and establishing parks to sustain a balanced ecosystem. Recognizing that the environment plays an important part of a country's overall well being. Arsonist, and litters are seen as degenerates and need to be educated and taught respect for the environment by helping clean it, and by staying in it for a determined amount of time under the pre-tense of community service.
Positions on Economic Issues
Minimum Wage - Most Aequalitas are opposed to increases in the minimum wage, believing that such increases hurt many businesses by forcing them to cut and outsource jobs and pass costs along to consumers. However, in circumstances were a business gets too large, minimum wage may be required to be increased.
Big Banks - The Aequalitas Party recognizes the potential problems of large banks, and therefore limits banks roughly to ensure a stable balance.
Jobs - The Aequalitas Party believes management and control over the activities of enterprises are based on self-management and self-governance, with equal power-relations in the workplace to maximize occupational autonomy. A socialist form of organization, adopted by Aequalitist, would eliminate controlling hierarchies so that only a hierarchy based on technical knowledge in the workplace remains. Every member would have decision-making power in the firm and would be able to participate in establishing its overall policy objectives. The policies/goals would be carried out by the technical specialists that form the coordinating hierarchy of the firm, who would establish plans or directives for the work community to accomplish these goals.
Positions on International Issues
Foreign Policy - The Aequalitas Party focuses on isolationism on the surface for its self-sufficient reasoning, but practices active and stable diplomacy to ensure peace and understanding. Tarrifs and taxes are also seen as important ways to regulate trade and used for diplomacy.
War and Peace - Views on war in the Aequalitas Party are mostly looked down upon unless for freeing a revolting populace from a bad government system, or defending against and unprovoked attack. Invasions that are done without proper reasoning are seen as senseless and barbaric. Peace is typically what an Aequalitas member strives for.
Immigration - The Aequalitas Party focuses upon proper documentation and insertion of people into the country, and does not see illegal entering as acceptable. Most members believe that undocumented immigrants must undergo proper procedures or face deportation till they are ready. This said, it is not the intention to block people from coming into the country unless extreme situations occur.
Free Trade - The Aequalitas Party does not concur with free trade unless agreed upon with all countries along the route of such a trade, and believes free trade to be problematic in a realistic situation as it causes economic destabilization.
Positions on Science and Exploration
Space - The Aequalitas Party has a major interest into the sciences, especially space travel. Members believe that space is the next frontier and that it is the destiny of such nations to one day spread across the star, but for now, they focus on getting into orbit with funding and encouragement of such programs.
Agriculture - The Aequalitas Party supports healthy agriculture with a focus on maintaining balance of local ecosystems. The use of GMOs are encouraged as no research suggest anything bad from then, but pesticide and other harmful chemicals are discouraged from being used.
Health - The Aequalitas Party believes that the first step to as working nation is a healthy population. As such programs to keep the populace healthy are regularly funded and supported.
Military - The Aequalitas Party understands that a large military can cause distrust, but recognize the importance of military power. Therefore, they believe a healthy nation will keep a stable and up-to-date military in order to stay competitive and able to defend themselves.
The Aequalitas Party promotes a semi-limited markets, a strong national defense, deregulation, social progressivism, and anti-slavery. The party does not sanction bigotry, discrimination, injustice, or communistic views.
