Initial Application for Map Placement

Full NationStates Name:

The name of your nation, with its pre-title. This is the name that will appear on our role-playing map.

Full Political Name:

This is the in-character name of your nation.

It can be the same as your NationStates name, or it can be the alternate name you wish to be known as when referred to in character. This is the name that will appear on our political map.

WA Nation:

Please list here any nation that you currently have as a member of the World Assembly.

If you do not have a nation in the WA already, either write “N/A”, or join, list your nation, and endorse our delegate.

This is area that you are claiming.

Please give us a list of the individual provinces you are claiming (any gray province on This Map is claimable), or a map with your claim colored.

All claims must abide by the Claim Rules.

Capital City:

The capital city of your nation.

Please provide the spelling you wish to be displayed on the role-playing map.

Estimated Population:

This is the estimated population of your nation to be used for figuring your later military numbers and GDP.

Use the Finding Population Volume of the Guide to Historia for formulas and figure your population estimate for the current RP Year: 2021.

History:

This is the most important part of your application.

The most important parts of a history are:
1) Finding a key event where your history diverged from the timeline.
2) Developing the history thereafter.

Everyone must be able to identify a distinct difference between the real country and their own (no copies of RL nations) and do it in at least two paragraphs of moderate length. The Ministers will help you if you cannot think of a concept or need help identifying an event to use.

Economy:

Type:
Development:

Nominal GDP:

Nominal per capita:

List here:
1) What kind of economy you have (Capitalist, planned, etc.).
2) If you are Developed, developing, or underdeveloped.
3) Your GDP, nominal, with per capita.

Typically, it is easier to figure for per capita first and multiply that by your estimated population to get the total output of your economy. If you need help with your economic numbers, the Ministers will help you.

Military Strength:

Priority:
Equipment:
% GDP:

Eligible Manpower:
Active Troops:

List here:
1) The priority of the armed forces in your country (high, medium, low).
2) What kind of equipment your military uses (what era, country of origin, etc.).
3) What percent of your GDP is used for military funding.

Also, list your military’s Eligible Manpower, which should work out to ~15-20% of your population, as well as your active troop total. Bear in mind that in peace no army is typically very large, so unless you state is autocratic or very high in population your numbers should not regularly approach one million. Your maximum active troop total works out to ~1-2% of your nation’s population, but as I said should rest lower than that.
