Armed Standoff in Devil's Pass!

Devil's Ridge-New Valice

New Valicean infantry units are locked in an armed standoff with rebel forces in Devil's Pass after coming under heavy fire early Wednesday morning.

More than one hundred heavily armed rebels from Sheddai Valley and the surrounding area opened fire on New Valicean armed forces just before sunrise Wednesday morning. No casualties have been reported as of yet. Approximately three hundred New Valicean infantry units were dispatched to the Devil's Ridge mountain range in early October when Head of State, Rondo Glacius XII, ordered the deployment of more than 15000 troops  to the Western Frontier to defend outlying industrial districts from the potential threat of armed rebels from the Sheddai Valley.

The rebels, supporters of the former Scionic Regime, pose a major threat to the nations industrial sector if attacks were to be carried out against any of the many industrial districts located on the Western Frontier. While it is believed that upwards of 50000 armed rebels are located on the Frontier, the Head of State has refused to seek foreign aide.

Central Intelligence and Reconnaissance Operations is currently looking into who is arming the rebels.
