2016 Timeline: The Best of Assad in P2TM

March 27-April 11: Now With Sugar This roleplay ended up locked because there were too many one-liners and OOC chatter in the IC, but nevertheless, a legend was born. Assad was the world's fall guy in this RP, especially when his arm was broken by Indonesia's Joko Widodo. I was a newbie at this point in time, but I'd soon learn the ins and outs of roleplaying Assad like a professional.

April 16-April 27: 2018: Hangin' On This died really quickly, but I attempted something new by having Assad align with the king of Jordan. I still hadn't achieved "professional" status, but it was still a fun ride. Highlights include the Chinese dumping water on Assad in the first IC page.

April 7-June 4: 2016: Yet Another Clash of Nations My personal favorite. For the majority of the roleplay, the only interaction that occurred was between Assad and the czarina of Bulgaria. Assad, as the nervous wreck the poor man is, stutters his way through this meeting, which was never finished as the player of Bulgaria was deactivated from NS (she did return, but the roleplay was not continued). In the OOC, someone made a rather inappropriate comment regarding Assad's escape to a bathroom, but, thankfully, another player pointed out that Assad had went in to cry--not to do something else.

April 28-June 5: 2020: Survivors Long-running, but not my most favorite. Assad and King Abdullah again team up for what The United Holy German Reich called "The Assad and Abdullah Show", consisting of the two leaders acting like goofballs. It was cute while it lasted, but contained little to no sustenance.

June 11-June 21: 2027: War Never Ends Another personal favorite. I felt this roleplay had a ton of potential, but the owner abandoned it, and the players players followed suit. I was really getting into it when the Canadian PM was almost shot while attempting to meet with Assad. It was this roleplay where I began the tradition of having Assad carry a handgun when he travels.

July 15-July 20: The Door Between Worlds I was extremely terrified when I asked the OP, "Can I play as a person who's kind of a celebrity, but not a celebrity?" He said yes, and my talent as Assad reached a broader audience. This RP was short-lived, but fun while it lasted.

August 15-August 23: The Hunger Like a few of the others I've mentioned, this one had a ton of potential, but it died very quickly. In this RP, a mass starvation was to occur, which I awaited with a smile on my face, as Assad promised in the first (and only) IC page, that he would starve before letting his people starve. I couldn't wait to write out his physical and psychological experience. Aaannnndd, that never happened.

July 19-August 25: 2020: Survivors Rebooted It was basically 2020: Survivors without Abdullah, and a more serious Assad. My favorite part is when Assad attempts to comfort the crying prime minister of New Zealand, because she gives him a hug and I just thought that was adorable.

August 28-September 2: World War Three An absolute gem. Here's where I achieve recognition as Assad. (Thank you, Parcia.) Throughout this roleplay, Assad's character has solidified into the classic nervous wreck most P2TM players are familiar with. He ends being rescued by Cuba of all countries, when he gets in a fistfight with the leader of Russia (who is not Putin).

September 10-September 21: Clash of Nations Short-lived, and not my number one favorite. I have Assad get shot in the beginning, which leads to Newne Carriebean7 adopting his new tradition of having his crazy dictators ride flying old ladies everywhere. Do I regret this one? No, but I wish it had gone better.

September 5-September 22: WW3 A reboot of World War Three, this was just as disastrous. The roleplay probably died because Assad panicked too much.

November 18-December 4: A World Ablaze Assad receives a number of a metaphorical ass-whoopings throughout this. First from Russia telling him to deal with the West, and then from Canada's delegation trying to insult his wife. His dinner date with Turkey's new president also gets dissed because the player quit. This one was still one of my favorites, and it's been nominated for P2TM awards for some reason.

April 15-January 7 (2017): The War Cry of Uncle Sam Probably one of the longest-running roleplays in the history of NationStates, I originally was not supposed to play as Assad, but well over a hundred pages later into this, I received my life-long wish: to play Assad. Assad gets beaten up, shot, tranquilized, hospitalized, stabbed, used as a guinea pig by Boy Scouts, and quits being leader of Syria to do some soul-searching. This roleplay has got the speed of molasses right now, but, technically, it's continuing.

January 3-present day: A Strange New World: 2017 Assad gets betrayed by Russia in this one, and rescued by Australia. The ultimate WTF compilation that is still running as of now.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen of NS. Hopefully, 2017 brings about scores of roleplays for me to continue being the Professional Roleplayer of Bashar al-Assad. Enjoy.
