The Snow Bear Riders of Wail
The infamous Snow Bear Riders of Wail were, for nearly three thousand years, the most feared cavalry of Despoticanian armies. Despite posing a significant danger to both their handlers and riders, the sheer power of the giant bear mounts, not to mention their shock value, was well worth the risk. Their usefulness was significantly diminished by the advent of firearms, but the actual cause for their retirement was High King Zakkaturwhalin's decision to declare the endangered Despoticanian Snow Bear a protected species.
It was customary to let the bears eat fallen enemy soldiers after a victorious battle.
