Senator Bannister

Name: James Bannister
Birth: 30PC - Alcove Harbour, ES Alpha
Death: 131PC - Alcove Harbour, ES Alpha

Senator James Bannister, although never holding any official title relating to it, was the face and spokesperson of Environmental Support. This was mainly due to his massive popularity with both the government and the general public. Starting college at Alcove Harbour University at the age of 16 on a full ride scholarship for engineering, Bannister immediately showed signs of intelligence and ingenuity leagues beyond his peers. He is majorly accredited with the plans for the country's first functioning Dyson Ring allowing for unlimited clean energy. This discovery led Bannister to be appointed head of the Environmental Support Futurism Committee at the age of 22. Over the next 2 years, Bannister created hundreds of practical and military devices to further Environmental Support's technological prowess. Due to popular demand, Bannister ran for Senator of the Alcove Harbour District at the age of 24 and won in a landslide victory. During his tenure as senator, Bannister campaigned for increased science and education funding and was a driving force in the constitutional convention of 56PC. Senator James Bannister continued to uphold his principles of scientific research and liberal thought for his remaining 26 years as senator, after which he amicably left office and retired from the political sphere. Bannister returned to Alcove Harbour University where he taught engineering and theoretical physics until his retirement at 83. James Bannister passed peacefully in his sleep at the age of 101 in his coastal home in Alcove Harbour. He is remembered to this day as one of the most influential men in Environmentalist history.

"Why do we all look at the world politically? In reality, the only thing stopping everybody from seeing eye to eye is a common goal. And what a better goal than a good future for everyone."

"If I were to walk up to somebody and ask them what they think drives me, they could fairly easily tell me; if I were to ask that very same person what drives them, they would have a tough time answering. Why is that? Why can we see other people's paths so clearly, but never our own?"

"Children have said they look up to me as a role model. I think they shouldn't. People may say that I've done a service to the world or furthered science, but in my haste to reach achievement and adulthood, I missed out on a very important part of life. Being a kid."
