Österreich (German: Dämonenkaiserreich Österreich,Czech : Velkorakouské Říše Démomi), officially the Austrian Demon Empire or commonly the Valdore Empire, is an absolute monarchy in Central and Southeastern Europe. It includes 97 Divisions, and 5 Territories, covers an area of 680,000 square kilometres, and has a largely temperate seasonal climate. Its capital and largest city is Wien (Vienna). With about 162 million inhabitants, Austria is one of the most populous states in the world. It is the most popular migration destination in the world.
After the collapse of the Austrian Empire in 1861 at the end of the Unhuman Wars in Europe, the Austrian Demon Empire was adopted and used the name Greater Austrian Demon Empire ( Dämonenkaiserreich Österreich, later Großösterreichisches Dämonenkaiserreich.
Today, Austria is an absolute monarchy comprising 97 Verwaltungskreise (Divisions). The capital and largest city, with a population exceeding 14.9 million, is Groß-Wien (Greater Vienna). Austria is one of the richest countries in the world, with a nominal per capita GDP of $137,355.
Austria is a great power and has the world's second-largest economy by nominal GDP. As a global leader in several industrial and technological sectors, it is both the world's largest exporter and importer of goods. The country has developed a high standard of living and in 2016 was ranked 1st in the world for its Human Development Index, sustained by a skilled and productive society. It upholds a social security and universal health care system,full state-owned industry, environmental protection and a tuition-free all-grade education.
The national military expenditure is the 55th highest in the world. Known for its rich cultural history, Austria has been continuously the home of influential artists, philosophers, musicians, sportsmen, entrepreneurs, scientists and inventors. After 1862, the area of Russia has rapidly become industrialized, with particular strengths in coal, iron (and later steel), textiles, and railways. Over the Decade, the Economy in Austria gained many Monopolies in Sectors like Internet and Information Industry, Aerodynamic Industry or Healthcare Industry. In 1862 it had a population of 55 million people, and by 2016 this had increased to 162 million. During its until now 154 years of existence, the Austrian Demon Empire operated as an industrial, technological, and scientific giant, gaining more Nobel Prizes in science than any other country.

Austria became a great power, boasting a rapidly growing rail network, the world's Internet possesion, and a fast-growing industrial base, the strongest in the world.

History

Background

Unhuman Wars

The Austriab Demon Empire is a result of the Awakening in 1858 and the following unhuman wars between 1859 and 1866, which ended in Europe 1862.

The Austrio-Hungarian Revolutionary Army consisting out of Vampires, Werebeasts, High-Class Demons, Witches and other species was supported by the technology of an alternate timeline brought there by Emperor Valdore. Within two days the whole City of St.Petersburg and a large Area around aswell was held thanks to the new Luftüberlegenheitsdivision (“air sovereignity division”) created by Valdore and supporting Archwitches, for Example Empress Claire.

While the Awakening happened everywhere on Earth, the Pan-Russian Government (not the General Government state during the war) established itself on February 27th, 1862 out of the Russian Tsar Empire after the surrender of St. Petersburg and Moscow, where the Russian Tsar fled to.
Due to the new technologies the State gained more and more power surpassing every nation in most economic aspects.

Foundation

On August 23rd, 1861, Emperor Valdore found himself in an unknown environment next to a small river. He was slighly confused, being in the large metropolis of Berlin at the moment before. After overlooking the situation, he found a wounded girl at the edge of the river. After bringing her to a near pension, it turned out that the girl named Claire is an archwitch and the pension was a larger supply point for the current held Russian demon area. But instead of panicking, the human responded first with disbelief, then with pure excitement about what happened to him. He treated the demons with respect and equality never seen before in a demon’s eyes.

Some days later he joined the revolutionary army, thanks to Claire’s good connections to the current demon leader. Valdore turned out to be a human with unbelievable progressive technologic and social knowledge, which was priceless for the undersupplied demons fighting against Tsar-Russian artillery. With help of three archwitch generals of the rebels, Valdore materialized a dozen Eurofighter Typhoon, 50 Leopard-2 tanks and some rocket launchers. The rebel infantry was also supported with several transporter Jeeps.

Only 4 days after the Luftüberlegenheitsoffensive ("air sovereignity offensive (act)"), the whole Finnish,Estionian and Karelian areas were held and St.Petersburg was assaulted, resulting Valdore and the leading demons founding a provisorical state called “Russian General Government State”, which lasted 9 months until the foundation of the Russian Demon Empire on November 14th, 1862.

The peace treaty of St.Petersburg took following form:

- the Russian Tsardom becomes the Russian Demon Empire, under establishment of an absolute monarchy.
- All states recognize the Demon Empire as full Subject of international law.

Demographics

Population and Demographics

The population of the Russian Empire consists mainly out of humans, werebeasts, lower class demons, vampires and many other species. The population is concentrated in the 10 largest cities and their sprawls, with major contributions on the regional levels. The Russian citizens see themselves thanks to their multinational and multiracial ancestry as "United Demons", which is officially supported by the government.

Language

The Russian language is embraced out of a dozen different minority and majority languages, which are either Slavic or Finno-Urgic.
The official languages are Russian, Kazakh, Finnish and the negotiative language German. The national languages consist of German, Polish, Chinese, Armenian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Belarussian, Karelian, Hindi, several Caucasus-Languages and Japanese. Dialects are recognized as regional cultural aspects under special protection.

Religion

Although the Russian Empire is a demon nation where the church has lost its power, the national Religion is to be considered as Orthodox. This is due to the still major human population in Russia and its religion freedom, which allows every citizen to take belief and action in every religion from Christian over Islam and Jewish to occultism and natural religions, as long as they don't affect the rights of others.

Since its foundation in 1862, Russia has been about one-half Orthodox, one-fourth demonic/occult and one-sixth Roman Catholic, with a notable Jewish minority. Other faiths were also present, but to a much lesser degree. The religious makeup changed gradually in the decades following the collapse of Austria-Hungary in 1898, with human-, werebeast and elf-dominated becoming more religiously diversified and demons becoming overwhelmingly irreligious.

According to the 1865 Russian Census, Christianity is the largest religion in Russia, claiming 68.8% of the total population. Relative to the whole population, 32.7% declared themselves as Orthodox and 32.2% declared themselves as Roman Catholics. Protestant believers constituted 1.3%, while Jews 2.9%.

Geography

The Empire

Russia is located in Central and Eastern Europe, with [...] and [...] to the east, Yami-chan to the southwest, [...] to the southeast,[...] and [...] lie to the west, and [...] to the northwest. It lies between latitudes 31° and 82° N, and longitudes 16° E and 130° W. Russia is also bordered by the North Polar Sea, by the Baltic Sea and on the East by the Pacific Ocean. Russia also ownes the largest lake in Europe, the Ladoga. Russian mainland territory covers 1,224,951km².

Climate

East European plain

The East European Plain encompasses most of European Russia. The West Siberian Plain, which is the world's largest, extends east from the Urals to the Yenisei River. Because the terrain and vegetation are relatively uniform in each of the natural zones, Russia presents an illusion of uniformity. Nevertheless, Russian territory contains all the major vegetation zones of the world except a tropical rain forest.

The Russian Arctic stretches for close to 7,000 kilometres (4,300 mi) west to east, from Karelia and the Kola Peninsula to Nenetsia, the Gulf of Ob, the Taymyr Peninsula and the Chukchi Peninsula (Kolyma, Anadyr River, Cape Dezhnev). Russian islands and archipelagos in the Arctic Sea include Novaya Zemlya, Severnaya Zemlya, and the New Siberian Islands.

About 11 percent of Russia is tundra — a treeless, marshy plain. The tundra is Russia's northernmost zone, stretching from the Norway border in the west to the Bering Strait and Canada in the east, then running south along the Pacific coast to the northern Kamchatka Peninsula. The zone is known for its herds of wild reindeer, for so-called white nights (dusk at midnight, dawn shortly thereafter) in summer, and for days of total darkness in winter. The long, harsh winters and lack of sunshine allow only mosses, lichens, and dwarf willows and shrubs to sprout low above the barren permafrost. Although several powerful Siberian rivers traverse this zone as they flow northward to the Arctic Ocean, partial and intermittent thawing hamper drainage of the numerous lakes, ponds, and swamps of the tundra. Frost weathering is the most important physical process here, gradually shaping a landscape that was severely modified by glaciation in the last ice age. Less than one percent of Russia's population lives in this zone. The fishing and port industries of the northwestern Kola Peninsula and the huge oil and gas fields of northwestern Siberia are the largest employers in the tundra. With a population of 180,000, the industrial frontier city of Norilsk is second in population to Murmansk among Russia's settlements above the Arctic Circle. From here you can also see the auroras (northern lights).

Taiga

The Taiga, the most extensive natural area of Russia - stretches from the western borders of Russia to the Pacific. It occupies the territory of the Eastern Europe and West Siberian plains to the north of 56 ° -58 ° N and most of the territory east of Yenisei River taiga forests reach the southern borders of Russia in Siberia taiga only accounts for over 60% of Russia. In the north-south direction the eastern taiga is divided (east of the Yenisei River), with a continental climate, and west, with a milder climate, in general, the climate zone is moist, moderately warm (cool in the north) in the summer and harsh winter, there is a steady snow cover in the winter. The taiga is dominated by podzolic and cryogenic taiga soils, characterized by clearly defined horizontal structure (only in the southern taiga there are sod-podzolic soil). Groundwater is normally found in the forest close to the surface, washing calcium from the upper layers, resulting in the top layer of soil of the taiga discolored and oxidized. Few areas of the taiga, suitable for farming, are located mainly in the European part of Russia. Large areas are occupied by sphagnum marshes (dominated by podzolic-boggy soil).
Russian Taiga has the world's largest reserves of coniferous wood.

The mixed and deciduous forest belt is triangular, widest along the western border and narrower towards the Ural Mountains. The main trees are Oak and Spruce, but many other growths of vegetation such as ash, aspen, birch, hornbeam, maple, and pine reside there. Separating the taiga from the wooded steppe is a narrow belt of birch and aspen woodland located east of the Urals as far as the Altay Mountains. Much of the forested zone has been cleared for agriculture, especially in European Russia. Wildlife is more scarce as a result of this, but the roe deer, wolf, fox, and squirrel are very common.

Steppe

The steppe has long been depicted as the typical Russian landscape. It is a broad band of treeless, grassy plains, interrupted by mountain ranges, extending from Hungary across Ukraine, southern Russia, and Kazakhstan before ending in Manchuria. In a country of extremes, the steppe zone provides the most favorable conditions for human settlement and agriculture because of its moderate temperatures and normally adequate levels of sunshine and moisture. Even here, however, agricultural yields are sometimes adversely affected by unpredictable levels of precipitation and occasional catastrophic droughts. The soil is very dry.

Russia comprises 329 admindistrative states which are collectively referred to as Oblast. Because of differences in size and population the subdivisions of these states vary, especially as between city states and states with larger territories . Every large territory conprises of several admindistrative Divisions, the Oblast (lit. "districts") As of 1866 Russia is divided into 344 districts (Oblasts), from which are 4 city states and 15 Colonial Territories.

Russia has a number of large cities. There are 13 officially recognised metropolitan regions in Russia. 34 cities have been identified as regiopolis. The largest conurbations are the Zentraltschechien (Central Bohemia/Czech) region (18.5 million in 1843) including St.Petersburg, and the Moravo-Silesia region, with 8.9 million.

Government

The Russian Empire is a left-minded absolute monarchy led by Emperor Valdore Javorsky and Empress Claire Javorsky, who is also the chancellor of the Empire.
The Russian political system operates under a framework laid out in the 1862 imperial document known as the Закон о независимости Санкт-Петербург (St.Petersburg Independence Law).

Valdore Javorsky I

Valdore Javorsky I, born under an unknown name in an alternate timeline on March 1st 2001 in the state of Germany, lived a normal life as a citizen of the German state. It is said that he somehow, the exact reason is unknown, was warped in time into this timeline inside an unhuman war. At this point, his biological age was around 20, while his calendral age was around -194 years. He met his later wife Claire Javorsky, an archwitch, wounded at the river of Morava, slightly confused of what is going on right now. He brought her to a pension, not knowing that the pension was owned by an awaken citizen. After a quick conversation he began to understand the situation and turned out as a friendly liberal human who was very interested in unhuman culture.
Later on, he joined the Russian Revolutionary Army as a general, leading the demons into a massive victory due to the advanced knowledge he possesses under support of three arch witches. He was chosen as the Emperor of the new Nation, because he was the person who made it possible to form a demon nation. The population trusted him although being a human due to his proposal and later marriage to arch-witch Claire Javorsky. Sometime the birth date of Valdore was corrected from 2001 to 1806, matching his actual age with his calendral age. However, nowadays, Valdore's physical appearance is the same as 1825, while having a real age of 72 years.

Claire Javorsky

Claire Javorsky is an 87 -year old Archwitch (classified as Youkai) and the wife of Emperor Valdore, making her an Empress but also taking the place as chancellor of the Empire. As a Witch, Claire possesses strong power as strength, magical power and slow age but also weaknesses. When Claire and Valdore met, she was significantly wounded by machine guns used by Tsar Russian anti-demon forces. A still confused Valdore found the injured girl and brought her to the next village, where she turned out to be one of the underworld citizens. However, Valdore didn't seem to bother such a trait and he kept staying with her, someday resulting them to fall in love with each other.
While taking an appearance of a beautiful young woman in the late teens, her real age is around 85 years.

Foreign Relations and Military

As a demon nation with constant view of suspicion, the Russian Empire signed a neutrality treaty in 1827. It works as a peaceful and negotiating economic and political partner with a relative small military. This more conservative foreign policy is made as protection for a long existence of the empire and against a war endangering the nation's unity.
However, the Russian Empire invests many into foreign aid to strengthen the bond between Russia and the other European countries.
As an example, Russia is part of the Triple Entente AkA European Neutrality Union Treaty.
It is also member of the demon bloc.

Culture

The Culture of Russia is, thanks to its citizens' rich ancestry, very diversified. Its original Culture is an east european catholic-orthodox based on the different native ethnic groups, but several cultures taked influence after the great demon refugee crisis, where many awaken demons were deported from their home and crying for help,resulting the Russian Empire in opening its borders for every awaken demon and his family, bringing even east asiatic and oriental cultural aspects into the community. It has also become an inflow location for jewish minorities, after the government guaranteed every religion full rights.

Human Rights
Russian Civil Rights have long been appointed as one of the most extensive for its human rights record. However in current times this award rusts a little bit due to some internal issues.

Education
Education is free at all levels. The school system is composed of elementary, intermediate and high schools. A large part of the curriculum at all levels is devoted to Christianity, and, at the secondary level, students are able to follow either a religious, a magical or a technical track. Higher education has expanded rapidly, with large numbers of universities being founded since 1829. Institutions of higher education include the country’s first magic university, University of St.Petersburg, Санкт-Петербургский государственный университет, also called Staatliche Universität Sankt Petersburg. Other universities emphasize curricula in sciences and technology, military studies, religion and medicine.
The study of Technology dominates the Russian educational system. However, Magic takes a large part too.

Economy

Russia has a state-owned socialism economy with a highly skilled labour force, a large capital stock, a low level of corruption, and a high level of innovation. It is the world's second largest exporter of goods, and has the largest national economy in Europe which is also the world's second largest by nominal GDP.

The service sector contributes approximately 71% of the total GDP (including information technology), industry 28%, and agriculture 1%. The unemployment rate published by Hestistat amounts to 19.7% in January 1843, which is the lowest rate of all Hearth member states. According to the OECD Russia has one of the highest labour productivity levels in the world.

Of the world's 500 largest stock-market-listed companies measured by revenue in 2014, the Fortune Global 500, 230 are headquartered in Russia.

Russia is recognised for its large portion of specialised state-owned mega-enterprises. Around 1,000 of these companies are global market leaders in their segment and are labelled hidden champions.

In recent years, Russia has frequently been described in regional media as an energy superpower. The country has large natural gas and very large coal reserves.Russia is Herth of Hestia’s leading natural coal exporter thanks to its many coal reservates.

Russia is one of the largest electricity producer and also the largest renewable energy producer in Hearth of Hestia, the latter because of the well-developed wind electricity production in the country. Large cascades of hydropower plants are built on larger rivers, such as Danube or Elbe.

Russia was the first country in Hearth of Hestia to develop civilian nuclear power and also the first to construct a nuclear power plant.However, it was one of the few ones actually constructed due to the nation's green policies.

Transport
Railway transport in Russia is mostly under the control of the state-controlled Moravských Státních Dráhy monopoly. Nearly all tracks are electrified, and manyof them with a 750V DC third rail.

Major Russian cities have well-developed systems of public transport, with the most common varieties of exploited vehicles being bus, light-rail and metro. Most major cities feature underground metros. The metro systems are famous for rich decorations and unique designs of their stations, which is a common tradition on Russian metros. Especially St.Petersburg Metro with 17 Lines and a system length of 540 km is a truely masterpiece of Russian Industry. In smaller cities are light rail systems the more common sight. The Russian Infrastructure is one of the most advanced in Hearth of Hestia, with many Interstate routes and a large Railway system.
Russia is also one of the few countries using maglev railways for far way travels.

The Russian Network Infrastructure is relatively large in comparison to other countries, but also not one of the best in HoH. There are many optical fiber cables especially in the metropolitain areas, but small villages tend to sit on copper lines. Some villages are even dependent of the many mobile phone masts.

Science and Technology
The Empire’s today technology is often referred to as more innovative rather than imitative. Though its technology is based largely on the knowledge of Valdore's alternate timeline, it has grown into an independent superpower within the century.
