Ranking Information

The Imperial Ranking System, uses a mix of Archaic, and Modern ranks. This is due to an incomplete reform policy, that currently is being debated by Military Leaders. Archaic Ranks such as Legatus, and Centurion, are used interchangeably with Modern Ranks Admiral, and Commander. The usage of a ranking convention over another is currently left up to the wishes of the Ranked Personnel. For Documentation Purposes, Archaic Ranks are used.

Military Organization

The Imperial Military is divided into three branches The Imperial Navy, the Interstellar Armed Forces, and Internal Security.

The Imperial Navy, is the Military Branch concerned with the construction, maintenance, and, operation of Military Spacecraft in the Imperium, and consist of four Fleets.

The First Fleet, is tasked with the defense of New Harron, and the Core Worlds. While its role was far more important before the creation of the Subspace Projectors that secure the Imperial Borders today, it maintains an important role in the Imperium, serving as the host to the personal vessels of the Overseers, (The TDV - Citidel, the TCO - Ashes of Eternity, and the TNC - Throne), and currently serves as the Planetary Garrison of New Harron. For this reason, the First Fleet is the smallest of all existing Imperial Fleets. The First Fleet is based on New Harron, and its vessels are decorated in Gold, Red, and Black.

The Second Fleet was once tasked with the defense of all Imperial Worlds in the event of an Invasion, however, since the construction of Subspace Projectors, and Shield Worlds, they have been relegated to garrisoning Shield Worlds. The second fleet, while fairly modern in equipment, lacks a significant number of Capital Ships, claiming only 9, compared to the Third Fleet's 23, and the Fourth's 40. It is based on Tharkad, and Second Fleet Vessels are decorated in pale-blue.

The Third Fleet was formerly tasked with Patrolling the Imperial Border. Due to the construction of Subspace Projectors, however, this role has become irrelevant, and the Fleet now exists to patrol, and defend the External Territories. Recent deployments have required the Third Fleet to secure Expansions of Imperial Territory, and oversee the construction of Colonies and Orbital Deployments. The is the second-largest fleet in the Imperium, claiming 23 Capital Ships, 20 of which are Eternity IIIs, with the remaining 3 ships being Rassvet Dreadnoughts. The Third Fleet is based on Titan II, and is decorated in deep-purple geometric patterns.

The Fourth Fleet is the largest, and most often seen fleet of the Imperium. While the First, Second, and Third Fleets operate strictly internally, the Fourth is deployed to external threats. For this reason, the Fourth Fleet works heavily with the Interstellar Armed Forces for all Planetary Invasions, and is the usually the first, and often, last contact many races have with the Imperium. The Fourth is also the only fleet to contain Planetcrackers, claiming all 12 Enclave IIIs. Additionally, the Fourth Fleet contains 44 Eternity IIIs, and 25 Rassvet Class Dreadnoughts, and is headed by a modification thereof (TNS - Arm of Orion). The Fourth Fleet is based on Balder, and their ships are not decorated.

The Interstellar Armed Forces consists of Infantry, Aerospace Craft, and Armoured Vehicles. Due to its nature as an Interstellar Force, it depends on the Fourth Fleet to deploy its forces. However, it retains an independent command structure, being divided into a number of smaller units, called Legions, headed by Praetorians. The size of a single Legion varies between specific groups, but is often enough to stage Planetary Invasion on smaller worlds without difficulty. The IAF is based on New Harron, and decoration of units is decided by Legion Praetorians.

Internal Security, is considered a joint division under both Military Oversight, and Civil Oversight. As such, it is officially considered part of the Imperial Military. Orders can be taken from both Command Organizations, however, orders from Civil Oversight take priority due to the nature of Internal Security as a police force. Internal Security claims only small groups of ships, often less than a few dozen per world, as well as having control over all Imperial Battlestations not located in Shield Worlds. Due to Internal Security's nature as a police force, it is the most populated of all Imperial divisions, claiming just under 3 Billion members throughout the Imperium. Internal Security Forces are armed with previous generation equipment due to resource concerns, but have access to a limited amount of Modern equipment in the event of an Invasion, or other events that would necessitate such things. Due to its status as a branch of the Military, members of any other Military Branch can be transferred/apply for transfer as is required. Internal Security is based on New Harron, and its forces are decorated in green.
