The Local Cluster: Future Tech Thread Repository

The purpose of this dispatch is very simple in nature: to provide a repository for threads relating to or occurring within the Future Technology community. In no way is this repository to be considered comprehensive; ultimately, the best way to find interesting threads, guides, roleplays, and assistance within the Future Technology community is still - and shall remain to be - through communicating directly with other Future Technology players either through the Regional Message Board (and the boards of regions which have permitted posting privileges to regions which share an embassy with The Local Cluster), telegrams to specific players, and through Internet Relay Chat channels.

Even so, in relation to threads being posted and linked within this dispatch, there are certain qualifications based on the type of thread being linked. Players who wish to utilize this repository are strongly encouraged to read these qualifications and understand them before requesting a thread to be posted within this dispatch.

As such, depending on what type of thread a player seeks to be posted here will determine what sort of qualifications might need be met for them to be linked. First, the different forms of threads will be defined, followed by the qualifications for each as is relevant. Please review each and understand that due to the Mission Statement of The Local Cluster, certain threads might not be added based upon disagreements with the core precepts of the mission of The Local Cluster: promotion of community, collaboration, compromise, creativity, and consistency; fostering more community involvement from all players who participate within Future Technology and are a part of the community; and providing connectivity to positive, stable, and (relatively) secure portions of the community for discussion of the issue and/or potential resolution.

Please understand that this repository will not and cannot contain every thread related to Future Technology or the Future Technology community in existence and does not seek to endorse or alienate any particular style of roleplay, any particular portion of the community, or any behavior (unless such is contradictory to the NationStates Terms & Conditions of Use; the One Stop Rules Shop; the core roleplaying pinricples of International Incidents and its related boards of Factbooks & National Information and Global Economics and Trade; or the core principles of the Future Technology community itself as ideally represented through the Mission Statement as "Don't be a dick").

Players which would like their threads added to this repository may simply send a telegram to The local cluster administrator. Further, understand that for each thread, such is permitted to violate prerequisites relating to conduct and behavior no more than three times before the thread (or, in some instances, the Internet Relay Chat channel) is removed. Content which violates the NationStates Terms & Conditions of Use or the One Stop Rule Shop may be removed if the thread is locked or removed from public view. Individuals which have put forward threads for submissions (or organizational founders and/or original posters, where applicable) will be contacted in the event a circumstance has arisen in which the thread might be removed.

Definitions of Thread Types:

Advice and Assistance: An advice and assistance thread is defined as any thread which exists as an Out-of-Character pool for providing advice, assistance, or general help to players as it relates to roleplaying or Future Technology specifically. May include both stickied and un-stickied threads, player-created guides, and threads which are created for the express purpose of allowing positive collaboration and a sense of community between players.
In-Character Organization: An In-Character organization thread is defined as any thread which exists in either an In-Character or Out-of-Character format to present a solely In-Character organization such as an international alliance, treaty, or society which exists between player-created (fictitious) entities. Respective Internet Relay Chat channels may also be linked.
Out-of-Character Organization: An Out-of-Character organization thread is defined as any thread which exists in an Out-of-Character format to present a solely Out-of-Character organization such as a closed roleplaying group, learning program, or community which is not otherwise considered to be a part of or constituting a larger, site-created community (such as the whole of the Future Technology community), but which is player-created and exists between players and/or player accounts. Respective Internet Relay Chat channels may also be linked.
Roleplaying: A roleplaying thread is defined as either an In-Character thread relating to conveying a story, plot, or otherwise permitting interaction between players through fictitious entities (to include, but not be limited to: individual characters, nation states, organizations, entities, etc.), or an Out-of-Character thread which directly relates to either an extant In-Character thread or is serving as a planning thread for the creation of a future thread. Threads within Global Economics & Trade, storefronts, and news threads are generally to be considered roleplaying threads.
Settings: A specific form of roleplaying thread which, typically, does not involve roleplaying taking place directly within said thread, but - either through invitation or application - allows players to create individual settings and environments to be added to the overall setting which may be utilized freely (as defined by the original post of the setting thread) outside of the original thread by applicants or invitees which, may in turn, involve other players which have not applied to the original setting thread (otherwise making them standard roleplaying threads).
Story Indices: A story index thread is defined as a thread which serves no other purpose that to collect short stories or fictional accounts involving a player's entities, creations, concepts, nation states, etc. and may exist either as an over-arching thread created for the purpose of allowing multiple players to do such, or merely by one player utilizing such as an outlet.

Necessary Prerequisites for the Repository:

Primary Prerequisites for All Threads: Threads must not contradict the Terms & Conditions of Use, the One Stop Rule Shop, the core principles of International Incidents roleplaying, the core principles of the Future Technology community as ideally defined within the Mission Statement as "Don't be a dick", and - further - may not be a factbook. Any user, regardless of regional location, may request a thread be added.
Advice and Assistance: Threads which advocate advice and assistance must be presented in a nominally neutral manner, demonstrate a legitimate avenue of assistance, and must have demonstrated a neutral capacity to promote collaboration, compromise, creativity, and consistency between players as well as promoting the resolution of conflict.
In-Character Organization: Threads which act as repositories or hubs for In-Character organizations must not promote Out-of-Character community and player division or "clique-like" qualities openly or through their player base; must not seek to instigate, promote, or endorse negative behavior (to include, but not be limited to: "trolling", "flaming", "flame-baiting", "griefing", or "dog-piling") openly or through their player base. Such is considered to include the addition of Internet Relay Chat channels, though channels may be treated differently and added or removed based upon demonstrable behavior to the exclusion of the thread itself.
Out-of-Character Organization: Threads which act as repositories or hubs for Out-of-Character organizations must not promote Out-of-Character community and player division or "clique-like" qualities openly or through their player base; must not seek to instigate, promote, or endorse negative behavior (to include, but not be limited to: "trolling", "flaming", "flame-baiting", "griefing", or "dog-piling") openly or through their player base. Such is considered to include the addition of Internet Relay Chat channels, though channels may be treated differently and added or removed based upon demonstrable behavior to the exclusion of the thread itself.
Roleplaying: Threads which exist for In-Character roleplaying or Out-of-Character roleplay planning may be added insofar as they do not violate the Primary Prerequisites and have at least one post from an account which is not the same account as the original poster.
Settings: Threads which exist as collaborative and growing In-Character settings may be added insofar as they do not violate the Primary Prerequisites and have at least one post from an account which is not the same account as the original poster.
Story Indices: Threads which exist as indices for player-created stories or plots may be added insofar as they do not violate the Primary Prerequisites.
