Bozarkia | Roleplay
Hey there!
Welcome to Bozarkia's roleplay!
Set in the modern world, it is broadly realistic. This guide provides an overview of the setting and helps you get started.
Before posting anything, you need to submit an application with the following:
Nation name (full):
Location on the map:
5 major cities and their location:
Description of your nation's culture and history:
The more details, the better. You can submit this application in the Regional Message Board (RMB) or on the Discord server's #rp-applications channel.
The map is divided into the following continents:
Koryth: Located in the northwest of the map, it is, geographically, little more than an extension of Qersa. However, Koryth is usually considered to be its own thing due to historical and cultural differences. With a large range of climates, it has historically been the most powerful continent.
Qersa: A huge expanse, Qersa is highly diverse in almost everything. Parts of it were colonised, while others stayed independent. It is a great place to put your nation in if you're having a hard time making up your mind!
Nesalth: This continent is a melting pot of cultures from almost everywhere. For most of its history, Nesalth's western areas were under Korythan influence, while the eastern parts were more so linked to the [Name] Strait.
Elasia: While its classification as a continent is perhaps debatable, Elasia is different from its neighbours in that it experienced large-scale Korythan settler colonialism. Today, most nations on this continent have close cultural ties with Koryth.
Aseru: Aseru is, similarly to Qersa, very diverse. It is almost cut in half by a large desert, with the western and eastern coasts having had very different trajectories. The continent's southwest was largely spared by widescale colonialism, but the eastern coast, seen as a "new world" by Koryth, was heavily settled and colonised. As with Qersa, the rest of the continent is highly diverse.
Vunari: For humans, Vunari is hardly an attractive place. An uninhabited barren landmass, it is the only continent without any permanent population.
You can check the maps here.
Bozarkia is part of a solar system with six planets, half of which, including Bozarkia, are terrestrial. Bozarkia is located 150,000,000 km from its star and has a moon.
As a rule of thumb, anything related to physics works the same way as in our universe. For simplicity's sake, we use the Gregorian Calendar for RP, though you're definitely allowed to make up your own calendar.
While RP must be in English, feel free to create conlangs for nations. Alternatively, if you wish to use a real-world language, make sure to give it a separate name. "English", "German", or "French" don’t mean anything in-character.
All RP posts must be in English.
Roleplay posts can be shared in the RMB, the forum, or in the Discord server's #rp-posts channel. Roleplay posts should always be in-character and cannot be one-liners. OOC comments can be shared in the Discord server's #rp-ooc channel, and, to a lesser extent, in the RMB. You are allowed to use many types of storytelling, so use whichever one you prefer.
Realism is important. You are not allowed to create superweapons or use any kind of magic. The timeline of this world is broadly similar to Earth's, so events like the Industrial Revolution occurred around the same time. However, realism does not mean that you should calque real-world nations. In fact, you are not allowed to do so, and should avoid obvious real-world references.
Wars require mutual approval from both actors. Wars must be realistic: you cannot simply say "my army overthrew the enemy government and won the war." Multiple RP posts from both sides are required. The final outcome must be realistic: if your nation is smaller, divided, or has a subpar army, territorial losses are likely.
Any expansion, territorial loss, or exchange must be approved by a Roleplay Moderator.
If you already have a nation in the RP that is a WA member endorsing the sitting delegate, you are allowed to place a puppet nation on the map, subject to moderator approval. A puppet nation has a NationStates page and is entirely independent from your nation. Puppets cannot be large.
Metagaming is strictly forbidden.
All regional and OOC rules must be followed when roleplaying.
