How to set up a Recruitment Campaign for your region on NS++

When you are setting up a campaign for recruitment in your region it is confusing so I went and simplified it all because I couldn't figure it out either until [nation]Shadow Afforess[/nation] helped me out.

How to get your Client Key

Step 1

[box]Go into your region homepage and click on "recruitment" which is right next to regional controls.

Step 2

[box]Scroll down until you see a text box and on the left of it it says Client Key, click on "What's This?"

Step 3

[box]Scroll down to Request for Moderator Intervention and in the text-box below it should have already pre-made a message to send. Youi are going to hit the "Lodge Request" button at the bottom.

Step 4

[box]After a few minutes of waiting you will get a message from moderators that is like this.

How to get your Telegram ID and Secret Key

Step 1

[box]Write your recruitment telegram in a telegram, mark it as recruitment, and send it to "tag:api" (without quotes) as the recipient.[/box]

Step 2

[box]You will then get this message.

[box]Your API template has been created! View Template

To wire a copy to a nation, make an API request to:

http://www.nationnstates.net/cgi-binn/api.cgi?a=sendTG&client=YOUR_API_CLIENT_KEY&tgid=Telegram ID Here&key=Secret Key Here&to=NATION_NAME

... replacing "NATION_NAME" with the name of a recipient. You can test this now by sending it to yourself.

Do not share this URL or your Secret Key with anyone!

This code will remain available for your reference under the telegram's Delivery Reports.

Recruiters/Campaigners: This telegram's category is now set and cannot be changed. Did you set it correctly? Check now to avoid modly wrath!
[/box]

REMEMBER THAT THE ABOVE URL IS NOT TO BE USED, IT IS TO SHOW THE LOCATION OF YOUR TELEGRAM ID AND SECRET KEY

Step 3

[box]Then go back to your region's homepage and click on "recruitment" which is right next to regional controls.
[/box]

Step 4

[box]Then fill out the rest of the boxes at the bottom of the page.

Extra information

GCR's Only,(Arnhelm Signatories)

[box]Telegrams are only sent to nations in game-created regions, not user created regions. The Arnhelm treaty is a famous treaty some regions sign to declare they do not recruit from user-created regions (GCRs only). This option allows them to keep to the treaty and not recruit from other user regions.[/box]

Percent Allocated

[box]Allows recruiters to increase or decrease the frequency the telegram is chosen out of all active campaigns. If 2 campaigns are at 100%, each telegram is chosen 50% of the time. If one is at 50%, one at 100%, then the first will be chosen 33% of the time, the latter 66% of the time. Basically add up all the numbers and divide by the percent allocated for a campaign to calculate.[/box]

Filter names

[box]Allows recruiters to set words (comma separated) that should not be in a nation name. For example a socialist region might use "Capitalist, Corporate" to have their campaign ignore any nation with either word in their name.[/box]
