Griffindor's 28th Fortnightly Update

This dispatch was originally sent as a Regional Telegram on October 20th, 2024:

[box]
Greetings, my fellow South Pacificans!

It has been 7 days since my last Fortnightly Briefing! I know what you must be thinking... surely it isn't time for another Fortnightly Briefing...? Well, as I said in the last briefing, we need to get back in Sync! So, you know what that means...? It's obviously time for another Fortnightly Briefing! There is not too much to report in this fortnightly briefing since it's been only a week.. so let's not waste any time! Without further ado...

~~~~
First: We will first share news regarding the Prime Minister's selections for their Cabinet.
The controversy surrounded the Prime Minister's decision not to appoint several traditional minister roles and a lack of clear direction for integration or culture plans. Within a few days, the Prime Minister proceeded to appoint [nation]Virifortis[/nation]/Silva to the Minister of Culture appointment, alleviating many of the Assembly's reservations. The final appointment is now at vote and is expected to pass in roughly two days.
The Prime Minister's other appointments all passed by overwhelming margins and have since entered into office. We shall see how the Cabinet works this upcoming term (which will last until the beginning of February).
Second: Speaking of the Executive Branch... A change to how Executive Branch news is disseminated is coming...
No! Not at all! The Prime Minister and I had a discussion, and effective at the end of this Fortnightly Telegram, I will no longer include executive branch news and updates within my telegrams. Instead, the Prime Minister (or other Cabinet member) will send out their own version of the Fortnightly Telegram in the weeks that I do not send out mine. I will still update you on special events that will impact the in-game region (Z-Day, N-Day, etc.), but the Prime Minister may also send out information if they choose! This arrangement will continue until we end the arrangement, or the Cabinet drops the ball twice in a row, and I pick up their slack! :P
Be sure you show the same level of love to the Executive Branch Telegrams as you do my own!
Third: Now, onto Assembly news... it seems that my updates prompt discussion... here's how:
First: Discussion on the reforms to Citizenship and the Citizenship Committee saw new life with renewed discussion. Feel free to browse the new discussion here: https://thesouthpacific.org/t/2433-ap-the-end-of-citcomm/6218/35
Second: Discussion on the reforms to the Sunshine Act saw new life with renewed discussion. Feel free to browse the new discussion here: https://thesouthpacific.org/t/2441-ab-sunshine-act-reformulation/6352/25
First: The Citizenship Committee put forth an amendment to the Citizenship Act that would remove the Citizenship Committee's ability to use discretion when removing Citizenship from members who do not vote in elections. The rationale for the amendment had a few different reasons, including no standard for leniency to be given, potentially arbitrary standards resulting in arbitrary leniency granting, and the recent rollout of new Citizen-wide notifications for all posts in the Election area of the forums. Most legislators appear to support the amendment, and the announcement of the notification changes primarily remedied those that don't. This is expected to pass when it goes to vote, and I look forward to informing you all of the vote conclusion in the next Fortnightly Telegram.
Second: An amendment to the Regional Officers Act was submitted to the Assembly, which seeks to add appearance powers to the list of powers that the Election Commissioner possesses during an election. A further amendment was introduced, which would further clarify that the Election Commissioner position does not need to be repeatedly added and removed from the Regional Officer list if they already occupy another role that utilizes a Regional Officer position. This amendment also appears to have broad support and will also likely not have any issues passing. Stay tuned for this amendment's result in the next Fortnightly Telegram.
Fourth: Turning to the High Court... nothing new to report there! The pending business previously reported on is still pending!
No timetable for release, though I am steadfastly hopeful that there will be a resolution by the next report. You can follow the case here: https://thesouthpacific.org/t/2405-hq-constitutionality-of-the-resolution-to-restore-regional-accountability-2/6084
Sixth: Z-Day is still coming!
This is likely something that the Prime Minister will report on in the upcoming inaugural edition of their Telegram. BUT, get ready nevertheless!
Seventh:This was completely ripped from the last Fortnightly Telegram.. but you might have noticed the World Factbook Entry (WFE) looks a bit different...
As we gear up for Halloween, I made some festive changes to the RMB to make it look more festive. I have a challenge for you!
Thanksgiving/Fall and Christmas/Winter are coming up in the coming weeks. I am organizing a competition for all my little minions on the RMB. I challenge you to create the best and most festive WFE for each of the upcoming seasons. If you send me the best one, I will use it on the WFE for the WHOLE month that it's made for. You must use this template of the WFE to be considered:
Feel free to ask any questions if you need any assistance!
ALSO: You can also submit to me a Halloween, Thanksgiving/Fall, or Christmas/Winter themed FLAG for me to throw up!
