Government Approval Poll Results - October 2024

Happy October everyone,

I'm excited to bring you this month's edition of the Government Approval poll results! Thanks to Ardeyn, our Minister of Domestic Affairs, for putting the poll together.

Before I begin, I should mention that a couple of these officials have resigned, so we may not be seeing the most current info - these results are for early October, so Faralried was not yet the Minister of Foreign Affairs and New United Common-lands is still listed as the MoFA.

Without further ado, let's get right into it.

  • Yodle's approval increased from 9.13 to 9.17. (+0.04)
Yodle is the current Governor of the region.

  • America the Greater's approval decreased from 9.30 to 8.83. (-0.47)
ATG is the current Prime Minister and WA Delegate of the region.

  • New United Common-lands's approval decreased from 8.74 to 8.71. (-0.03)
NUCL was the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the time of data collection, but has since retired.

  • The Washington Federation's approval increased from 8.26 to 8.54. (+0.28)
'Washfed' is the current Minister of Culture.

  • Ardeyn's approval increased from 7.00 to 8.50. (+1.50)
Ardeyn is the current Minister of Domestic Affairs.

  • Syrasia's approval increased from 8.13 to 8.46. (+0.33)
Syrasia was the Deputy Prime Minister shortly before the poll was released, but is now retired.

  • Gine Caruttiva's approval increased from 7.43 to 8.00. (+0.57)
Gine Caruttiva was the Head of Communications when the poll was released, but is now the Deputy Prime Minister.

  • Faralried, a new government member, received an approval rating of 7.96.
Faralried was the Head of Diplomacy and Outreach when the poll was released, but is now the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

  • The Kaverian's approval decreased from 7.91 to 7.88. (-0.03)
The Kaverian is the current Speaker of Parliament.

  • Venesia Grande's approval increased from 7.22 to 7.83. (+0.61)
Venesia Grande is the current Head of Ambassadors.

  • Claibornia's approval increased from 6.04 to 7.83. (+1.79)
Claibornia is the current Head of Roleplay.

  • Sidervidaii, a new government member, received an approval rating of 7.13.
SidervidaII is the current Head of Events.

These are some big changes - I'd like to highlight a couple of the most significant ones:

  • Claibornia's approval skyrocketed, increasing by a massive 1.79 points. That's huge, and I personally think it has a lot to do with Claibornia stepping up and encouraging the roleplay committee to get back on track.

  • Ardeyn saw a similar jump in approval, increasing by 1.50 points. In my personal opinion, this is because Ardeyn's entered a Cabinet position with a lot of forward-facing duties, and he's been performing them quite well.

  • Our largest decrease by far was America the Greater, who lost 0.47 points of approval. Given the circumstances, I'll abstain from commenting on this, but I hope to discuss it soon on the Yodcast.

Moving on, let's check out the vote tallies in more detail:

Unsurprisingly, Yodle's received a massive amount of 10/10 ratings. America the Greater saw similar results, with more than half of respondents rating his performance a 10. SidervidaII fell significantly behind her fellow officials, and I hope to discuss the reasons for this drop soon.

All things considered, these approval ratings are quite acceptable, but there is always more work to do.

We also received some comments from interested residents, and I'd like to mention a few of them here:

  • One resident said that they feel Gine Caruttiva and SidervidaII haven't really performed their jobs very much yet.

  • One resident expressed concern about 'half of the cabinet' resigning, but went on to say that they're confident NBB will remain strong.

  • One resident wanted to remind everyone to stay hydrated! Apparently people hydrate less in the winter than in the summer, which I didn't realize, so thanks for the tip!

Thanks for reading this edition of our Government Approval Poll! Hope to see you soon with the next one :)
