THE PEOPLE ARE MISTAKEN IN WHAT THE WORLD ASSEMBLY DELEGATE PERFORMS AND ENTAILS.

Many mistakenly believe that the Office of the World Assembly Delegate is a position of power, of change, of leadership.

It is not.

Before my election, I was just like you, thinking that it is a simple role that can be performed by anyone elected. But it is more than just voting and representing.

The Delegate:

DOES NOT concern itself with posting roleplays regularly, that is a job for any and every citizen;

DOES NOT concern itself with running the African Council, that is a job for the leadership of all related moderators and executives;

DOES NOT concern itself with creating and maintaining server events and activities, that is the job for the Roleplay Officers and Propaganda Creators;

DOES NOT concern itself with defending and attacking (liberating) regions, that is a job for the Joint Military Specialists;

DOES NOT concern itself with immigration policy, that is a job for the moderating committee to jointly deliberate on;

DOES NOT concern itself with making a show of what duties were performed while in Office, as it is both boastful and unprofessional and can inadvertently leak secrets without proper authorization; and

DOES NOT concern itself with furthering their well-standing within the RolePlay, as IRP shall not be tied to OOC.

OH, HOW WE ARE BLIND TO WHAT A DELEGATE IS UNTIL YOU ARE ONE.

The Delegate:

DOES concern itself with foreign policy, making sure that allies’ regions interests align with our own;

DOES concern itself with adding and removing embassies, in line with Africa’s foreign policy,

DOES concern itself with evaluating and investigating those in violation of the immigration policy, alongside an assigned moderating committee;

DOES concern itself with cultivating international relationships with other regions, as it is a diplomatic role;

DOES support the Executor in pushing forward policies regarding the roles and functions of the Delegate as well as how Africa presents itself abroad;

DOES mediate and negotiate between the African Administration and foreign entities, thus requiring a cool demeanor, diplomatic sense, and readily available solutions;

DOES do anything else required of the position as dictated and requested of/by the Executor that falls within the function of the World Assembly Delegate Office.

I do not expect those who never experienced the role of the NS Africa World Assembly Delegate to understand the nuances and intricacies of the role.
But it is not a role for the light-hearted; it is not a role that seeks public recognition. There is a reason so many World Assembly Delegates have fallen silent
on what specific duties they have performed while in Office.

Ultimately, this role is about trust. Trust in knowing that the candidate-elect performs discretely without hiccup.
