The Kanzlian Air Force
The Kanzlian Air Force (Staats Luchtmacht) is the air and space force of Kanzlia. It was formed in 1920 on the 12th of April, initially part of the Navy as the "Aviation Department" (Marine Luchtvaart) before a section was transferred to the Army as the "Army Air Arm" (Leger Luchtvaart). It became its own separate branch when both departments merged in 1937 as the Kanzlian Air Department before renaming to the Kanzlian Air Force a year later.
For much of its history, KAF has been a relatively small force of modern aircraft solely focused on protecting Kanzlian air space. During the middle of the 20th century, they boast a large interceptor aircraft fleet. This doctrine never changed until recently. In addition, the KAF operates the air defence system of the country. This includes the Kanzlian Integrated Air Defence System which has 13 different sites all around the country constantly monitoring Kanzlian Air Space.
