How and why to join the World Assembly
Hi there hello! Are you thinking about joining the World Assembly? Well, I sure hope so. In this dispatch, you will find instructions for joining the WA and reasons to do so.What is the World Assembly?
The World Assembly (or WA) is the governing body of Nationstates. It regularly passes laws, called resolutions, that bring nations into line. WA nations can vote for or against the current resolution.
The WA has two councils: The General Assembly and The Security Council. The General Assembly passes laws that generally govern the world, like laws to improve civil rights or make the workplace safer. The Security Council passes laws that involve more gameplay, especially in regions. It can restrict Delegate powers, stop regions from becoming a Frontier, or commend or condemn nations and regions.
What are the benefits?
Joining the WA is like upgrading your nation. First and foremost, you get a neat little plaque on your nation page that says you are a WA member.
You can also vote on resolutions and make your voice heard. It's pretty cool.
The coolest part, however, is the ability to endorse and be endorsed by other nations. Endorsements are a way to signify that you like a certain nation. Perhaps you like their policies, or maybe you think they have a cool flag. To endorse someone, you can go to their nation page and scroll to the bottom. There should be a button that says "Endorse Nation." Note that you can only endorse nations in the same region as you.
If you have at least two endorsements, you can submit your own WA proposals! You should also endorse our Delegate, Ter Landia so that the region can stay secure and be safer from invaders.
By golly, that sounds great! How do I join?
Joining the World Assembly is easy. There are a few things you need to make sure of, first.
You must have a registered email for your nation. You can do this by going to the Settings page (on top of your screen) and scrolling down till you see something that says Email.
You cannot have any other nations in the World Assembly. This is cheating and will get both nations ejected (or deleted for repeat offenses).
Anyway, if those are both figured out, we can advance.

As you can see in this obscenely large image, you need to go to the sidebar and click on the World Assembly.
(I'm using the default theme, but it should be in this general area for all themes.)
As you can see here, there is a nice little button that says Apply to Join. Click on it, and the guys at the WA will review your nation. You are almost certainly going to get in, but there are some exceptions. (like if you have a nation there already.) They will email you if you are accepted, so check your email often.
If it all worked out, you should now be in the World Assembly! Congratulations!
