VOLUME #005: "Into The Internet! Hatsune Miku's Confession Song"

Yuri twisted and turned on the bed, still full of questions. There was one question in particular that bothered him the most, however. “Who is the Weeber?”

As Yuri’s racing mind began to slow down, the hours turned to minutes, and before he knew it, morning had come. What woke him up was the sound of Miku’s voice, sounding oddly ecstatic for some reason.

Hatsune Miku: Yuri! Yuri-kun, wake up, wake up! Hurry already!

Yuri: Eh? What?

Miku had a big smile on her face as she was giggling and gently shaking Yuri while he was still trying to fully wake up. Yuri rubs his eyes.

Hatsune Miku: Yuri, wake up! I want to take you somewhere else now! You’ll love it!

Yuri: Huh?? What are you talking about?

Miku gets off of the bed and begins to jump up and down in excitement.

Hatsune Miku: To the Internet, of course!

Yuri: Excuse me, what?

Miku groans in frustration, remembering that Yuri is still new to all of this.

Hatsune Miku: Ugh… You really don’t know what I mean, do you?

Yuri: No, not really…

Miku facepalms her face and shakes her head, but then returns to her smile.

Hatsune Miku: Well come on! I’ll show you!

With that, she immediately takes Yuri by the hand and drags him out of the bed.

Yuri: Whooooaaaaaa!

Miku takes Yuri with her and runs out of the garage. After that, she starts to fly into the air, taking Yuri along with her.

Yuri: Wait!!! Miku!! What about the car?!

Hatsune Miku: Don’t worry about it! Just hang on tight!

With that, Miku picks up speed quickly, and reality once again slowly starts to fade and change around the two of them. Yuri could feel his hand slipping away from Miku’s and before he knew it, he had lost sight of her. He was still in the process of being transported to another universe, and so when he arrived, he was falling from several hundred feet into a strange city.

Yuri: AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!

Yuri’s body bounces off a strange vehicle and slams into another, which continues back into his free fall. He eventually crashes into what seemed to be a massive lobby.

Yuri: Agh… Ouch…

Yuri rubs his head as he begins to stand up. He begins to look around his surroundings and starts to talk to himself.

Yuri: Hmm… I think I recognize this place… Wasn’t this that same lobby from a movie I watched called Ralph Breaks the Internet?

Yuri begins to look around, trying to find Miku. He decides to call for her, hoping she was in the lobby.

Yuri: Miku? Miku? Are you here? Hellooooo?

Yuri doesn’t get a response. He realizes he was lost.

Yuri: Oh, great. I just lost my only way back home.

Yuri sighs.

Yuri: Well, I guess I shouldn’t just loaf around in this place.

Yuri makes his way to the lobby’s exit, making it through the vast amounts of people all around, which turns out they’re actually users known as Netizens. Finally, Yuri finds his way out, and when he does, he is met with a vast city of diverse websites.

The universe of SEKAI-93 — The Internet.

Yuri: Whoooaaa… This place is a lot bigger than it looked in the movie…

Yuri looked in awe at the vast expanse that is the Internet city. Hundred of strange vehicles carrying users could be seen flying everywhere in uniform orders.

Yuri: Hmm… TikTok, YouTube, Merriam-Webster...

Yuri notices a tower with the iconic four-colored G built on the side of it.

Yuri: Ah, Google! There it is! I’m sure I’ll be able to find some answers there!

Yuri begins to make his way through the vast city, when suddenly a pop-up ad appears in front of him.

Pop-up Ad #1: Live the life of a king on a cruise ship to the Caribbean! Free food and dorm included! Click here to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity you’ll never forget!

Yuri: Umm, no thanks.

Yuri presses the X on the sign the pop-up ad was holding, making him disappear, and another pop-up immediately appears next.

Pop-up Ad #2: Dating app, dating app! Meet some beautiful women online at the click of a button. Click here to downlo-

Yuri immediately closes the pop-up, an irritated expression on his face.

Yuri: Not a chance.

Following that, another pop-up “pops up,” this time advertising about a free item.

Pop-up Ad #3: Get your free iPhone 15 here, complete with an iMac and wireless iPods! Just enter your credit card information and Social Security number here!

Yuri: I know for a fact that’s fake.

Yuri closes the ad, which is immediately followed by yet again ANOTHER pop-up.

Pop-up Ad #4: Click here for-

Yuri instantly closes the ad in anger.

Yuri: DAMMIT! NO MORE ADS!

Yuri begins to run through the city, avoiding as many pop-ups as he could. After a while of running, he got tired, and was starting to lose hope. Just then, he saw a holographic advertising stand showcasing an ad for a digital concert. And it was from Hatsune Miku.

Yuri: So that’s where she is…

Yuri immediately dashes through the city once more, passing by even more pop-ups and Netizens, until finally making it to the Google tower.

Yuri: Finally! Dammit, I hate those ads…

In front of the tower, there seemed to be a stand, with a large search bar in front of it. Yuri notices it and begins to approach it, but there was an extremely long line at it.

Yuri: Umm…

Yuri heads to the front of the line and stares at the Netizen in front.

Netizen #472580343: New headphones for sa-

Yuri pushes the Netizen away and cuts in line. At the stand, a giant green bot stood in it. It was Google’s mascot, the Android.

Android: … Hello, welcome to the Google search bar. What would you like to search for? Or are you feeling lucky?

Yuri: … Umm…

Android: Umbrella? Umbelliferone? Umangite?

Yuri: No, I-

Android: Ice cream trucks near me? Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice?

Yuri: No, I’m talking a-

Android: A Quiet Place? A Series of Unfortunate Events? A-

Yuri slams his hand on the counter.

Yuri: Just listen to me already! Please!

Android: Ah, my apologies. What did you want to search up?

Yuri: Look, I need to to search up “Hatsune Miku Concert.”

Yuri presses the search button, and immediately, the Android shakes for a few moments, before coming up with a singular search result.

Android: Oh… It seems there is only one search result for “Hatsune Miku LIVE Concert 2024…” Would you still like to go there?

Yuri: Yes, that’s it!

Android: Very well then.

A strange box envelops around Yuri as it sits him onto a seat on it. It seemed to be one of those strange vehicles that appear all over the city.

Android: Have a safe trip then!

The vehicle begins to quickly zip upward, thrusting itself over into one of the many traffic lines floating throughout the city. Yuri looks down at the city, taking in all of the amazing details.

Yuri: Whoa… I can definitely see why Miku wanted to take me here.

With that, the vehicle continue to fly along the aerial highway, taking several corners before finally arriving at Youtube and taking Yuri in front of an entrance to what should be a Youtube video area. The vehicle suddenly disappears and Yuri falls flat on the floor in a comical manner

Yuri: Ow! Geez! It could’ve just warned me it was gonna do that!

Yuri stands up and begins to walk to the entrance. As he begins to enter, he begins to hear cheering and screaming, and when he looked around, he realizes he was in a concert. Just then, Hatsune Miku comes up on stage and everyone starts freaking out. It seems she had returned to her classic module.

Hatsune Miku: Thank you, everyone. I have dedicated this song to a very special person who is somewhere in this concert.

All the Netizens begin to cheer loudly, waving their glow sticks around frantically.

Hatsune Miku: Yuri-sama, I know you’re around here somewhere. I know you can hear the sound of my voice clearly. I want to sing you a song…

(Please play this song now. Just follow along the lyrics and stuff.)

The ambiance of the concert begins to set in as Miku gets ready to sing…

Hatsune Miku: Can’t ever let my heart forget today, a feeling I’ll never see
The pattern made to fit, I cut myself a place in the seam
And suddenly I’m singing out a line but catch it to make it mine
Be free, the words in me, to ride atop this melody beginning to fly
I’ll sing it for the words I wanna reach you
I’ll sing it for the day it finally meets you
If every pixel joins into a straight line
So can all this sound live on as starlight
I’ll sing it for the words I wanna reach you
I’ll sing it for the day it finally meets you
If every pixel joins into a curved line So can all this sound connect, music, yours and miiiiiiiiiine!

Yuri didn’t say a word while he was listening. He kept his arms crossed and his head down, a dark silhouette covering his eyes.

Remembering a white and falling light, a feeling you brought to me
A glowing memory, I’m reaching for your voice but grab to see
My every little touch began to lead a symphony through sky
Be free, the words in me, they’re echoing into heaven and beginning to fly
I’ll sing it for the words I wanna reach you
I’ll sing it for the day it finally meets you
If every pixel joins into a straight line
So can I be heard and take the spotlight
I’ll sing it for the words I wanna reach you I’ll sing it for the day it finally meets you
If every pixel joins into a curved line
So can all this sound connect, music, yours and miiiiiiine! (ah ah)

And every day the same, no way did I think
The world could change at all for me
Then I saw the morning come again
Giving me the “present” that I need
A second, I believed without looking back
And changed my life and all I had
Tell your world to me, I wanna know that world you see

I’ll sing it for the words I wanna reach you
I’ll sing it for the day it finally meets you
If every pixel joins into a straight line
So can all this sound live on as starlight
I’ll sing it for the words I wanna reach you
I’ll sing it for the day it finally meets you
If every pixel joins into a curved line
So can all this sound connect, music, yours and miiiiiiine! (ah)

Hatsune Miku: I love you, Yuri. I know that you’re going to be my prince someday…

The whole audience cheered loudly, but Yuri remained in his position, not saying a single word. Finally, he makes his way to the exit.

Miku makes it off the stage and heads over to the side exit. When she makes it out, she immediately runs to the front of the main exit where she meets up with Yuri, who was still in the same position he was in before.

Hatsune Miku: Hey! What did you think of my song?

Yuri doesn’t say anything for a long while. His fists clench tightly and the shadow over his eyes still remains.

Yuri: Do you really want my honest opinion?

Miku’s bright smile turns into an irritated frown.

Hatsune Miku: Well of course I do!

Yuri stays quiet for another while and returns to speaking.

Yuri: You made me a promise. You promised me you wouldn’t do any lovey-dovey crap if I freed you from my computer. I said absolutely no romance. And what did you do? You went ahead and did the most annoyingly romantical thing a person could ever do: Sing a damn love song.

Miku scoffs at Yuri’s answer, feeling very offended at hearing his harsh words.

Hatsune Miku: Wha- You…

Miku couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She begins to pout for a while, but then, she begins to smirk. She decides to try and guilt-trip Yuri into appreciating her song. She then looks away from Yuri, crossing her arms.

Hatsune Miku: Hmph. You didn’t even deserve to hear my song anyway.

Yuri doesn’t respond, which leads into a long and awkward silence. Finally, the quiet breaks Miku, and she sighs.

Hatsune Miku: Fine… I give up… But can I at least tell you this one other thing?

Yuri: What…?

Miku’s sullen face returns to her usual bright smile

Hatsune Miku: Well, during the time I had spent here back in the Internet, I had been able to regain some memories I had, and now, I even have the locations of the rest of the Vocaloids stored in my programming now! They’re right here in the Internet, too!

Yuri’s mood suddenly changes.

Yuri: Wait, there’s more Vocaloids?

Hatsune Miku: Well obviously! I am called the queen of the Vocaloids for a reason!

Yuri: So what are we waiting for? Shouldn’t we go searching for them?

Hatsune Miku: Well, yeah, duh! Come on! I’ll take you!

And with that, Miku grabs Yuri’s hand and shoots into the air.

Yuri: YOU’VE GOT TO STOP DOING THIIIIIIIIIIIIS!!!
