COMIC STRIP VOLUME #004: "The Weeber Explained! Enter Penguin Dave and Miku's Memories Begin to Unfold"
In another universe named SEKAI-17, a tall, spiral skyscraper stood tall among a city known as the Anti Anime District. The towering structure was known as NAPD Supreme Tower. Inside the highest floor, a desk stood behind a large swivel chair. Behind that, the mark of the AAA (Anti Anime Alliance) was etched into a banner on the wall. Soft, purple lights lined the nooks and crannies that seemed to have been man-made around the walls and ceiling. Suddenly, an NAPD cop bursts through the doors, heavily panting.
Police Officer #5: Head Chief Dave!! Head Chief Dave!! I’ve got some urgent news!
???: Hmm. What is it?
The officer seemed to be worn out, as he was still trying to catch his breath.
Police Officer #5: We’ve got a huge problem! While me and a few other units were patrolling SEKAI-82, we came across a suspicious car that seemed to have belonged to the Weeber!
???: And? We come across plenty of things that used to have belonged to the Weeber every once in a while. We even find entire safe houses filled with stuff, and those have never helped us find him. That car must’ve been found by some random nobody that just happened to come acro-
The tired cop interrupts him before he could finish his sentence
Police Officer #5: Wait! That’s not all! While we were on pursuit of the vehicle, an android came out from the car that had confirmed the rumors! The strongest weapon against NAPD… Hatsune Miku… SHE’S ALIVE!!!
The mysterious being’s tone suddenly changes
???: Ah, really now?
The swivel chair turns 180 degrees, revealing a short, stubby penguin wearing a black police hat and a pair of shades.
The Head Chief of the No Anime Police — Penguin Dave.
(Here is an image of Penguin Dave.)
Penguin Dave: Now that is some interesting information. So… It seems the rumors about Miku causing havoc around the Internet really were true. Now tell me. Are you sure what you saw wasn’t a fluke?
Police Officer #5: I’m certain! Her movements and attack patterns resembled exactly that of which I’ve learned from in the Anti Anime Academy. Me and the others who were in on the pursuit hadn’t anticipated we’d ever face her, due to how long it’s been since her disappearance, so we weren’t prepared when she did come out of that car and began shooting at us.
Penguin Dave began to think for a while, before speaking again.
Penguin Dave: Hmm. So it really is her… Well then. Were you able to get a good look at the person who was driving the vehicle?
Police Officer #5: Well, uhh, no sir. It was mostly a blur. I wasn’t able to catch the subject’s face.
Penguin Dave sighs
Penguin Dave: Very well then. Thank you for delivering this info. Is there anything else you’re able to add to this?
Police Officer #5: Well, no sir. That was all the information I had. However, I do have one question that had been in the back of my head for a while now…
Penguin Dave: Go ahead.
Police Officer #5: Well, I’ve heard several instances of the Weeber throughout my entire career, but I’ve always wondered. Who really was the Weeber?
Penguin Dave sighs deeply once more
Penguin Dave: Well, that’s a long story. But I suppose I should explain it to you. You see, the Weeber was the scourge of the No Anime Police Department. The hoarder of all things anime. The original Most Wanted. He was the leader of the Anime Cartel, and as far as our knowledge goes, he might still be it. He swore to himself he would destroy NAPD for eternity and to animize the entire multiverse. He was the man who created Hatsune Miku.
Police Officer #5: Wait, what?! You mean… He…
Penguin Dave: Yes. The Weeber was the original creator of Hatsune Miku and the rest of the Vocaloids. But he wasn’t able to do it alone. You see, he required the help of a company known as Crypton Future Media to be able to complete his task. They were the ones who helped him design the AIs for the Vocaloids. Hatsune Miku was among the most important of the Vocaloids as the Weeber had designed her with an ability that could’ve ended all of us. They codenamed the operation “PROJECT DIVA.” With that android, he had almost succeeded in wiping out the entirety of NAPD. Due to a series of unknown events, however, his plan had somehow collapsed, and he destroyed all of the Vocaloids, including Hatsune Miku. Or so we thought.
Police Officer #5: Well that doesn’t seem to make sense. Why would he try to destroy his only shot at getting rid of us No Anime Police?
Penguin Dave: Like I said, the exact details are unknown. Anyway, to this day, CFM (Crypton Future Media) still sells their voice bank synthesizers to SEKAI-0. You know, the original “real life” universe we swore we’d help get rid of all anime throughout the multiverse to heal it? Anyway, only reason we allow CFM to continue their operation is because they pay a monthly fee to us, so we legally allow them to continue, as long as they don’t use any anime characters to showcase their products.
Police Officer #5: Huh. Makes sense.
Penguin Dave: So, now that we know that Hatsune Miku still exists, we need to capture her and destroy her as soon as possible. If my theory proves to be correct, then she must have returned to finish her original purpose: To destroy the No Anime Police.
Police Officer #5: Yes sir. I will bring some units and we’ll get to searching.
Penguin Dave: Make haste. Remember, this is all for the sake of SEKAI-0. Long live the No Anime Police, and may the anime trash of the multiverse may soon be all but eliminated.
The story now returns to the universe named SEKAI-82, the universe where Yuri and Miku are currently in. They had just escaped a run-in with the No Anime Police and are now heading along the road of the futuristic city.
Yuri was panting roughly after that jump, and Miku comes back in the car the same way she came out.
Yuri: That… That was too close…
Hatsune Miku: Come on! We need to head back to the garage! They’ll be searching everywhere for us!
Yuri: Yeah, you’re right…
Yuri looks around his surroundings.
Yuri: Uhh… Where is the garage?
Miku sighs in an irritated tone and rolls her eyes.
Hatsune Miku: Seriously, you’re so clueless. Let me help you.
Miku presses a button on the car, and the screen in the center turns on, showing a map that has the location of the garage
Hatsune Miku: There! Think you can follow that?
Yuri: Uhh… Yeah, I think I can.
Yuri proceeds to drive the car around the city on his way to the garage, constantly keeping an eye out for any anti anime police cars. Soon, they make it in front of the garage, and Yuri parks the car inside.
Yuri: It’s a good thing this place is so well hidden.
The two of them come out of the car and make their way over to a section of the garage that had a few chairs. Yuri sits on one of them and so does Miku.
Yuri: Whew… Right then.
Yuri sighs gently, finally starting to calm down. He soon looks over to Miku, seeming somewhat concerned.
Yuri: So… Miku. I have a lot of questions. Let’s start with the first one, though. While we were being chased by those guys, for a few minutes, your eyes had turned blue and you weren’t responding to my voice. What happened there? Are you going to be ok?
Miku’s eyes widened at that question. She sighed deeply, and smiled softly.
Hatsune Miku: Well, during our time in this universe, I had just remembered some very important memories that I hadn’t remembered about until now. I think the reason why I had gone like that was probably because… My programming had unlocked some memories deep inside me.
Yuri: Memories? Wait, what do you mean?
Miku tilts her head slightly down and closes her eyes slightly.
Hatsune Miku: Well… It’s hard to explain, but… I remember a man… A person I had known for a long, long time…
Yuri begins to think for a moment, remembering what had been said on the police radio.
Yuri: Umm… Any chance that man was called the Weeber?
Miku’s eyes widen at the sound of that name.
Hatsune Miku: Yes... Yes! That’s it! That was his name! I remember now… So you see, I remember going to this exact universe with him, and I remember that we went to this safe house a few times…
Yuri: Wait, wait, wait. Hold on a minute. This place is a safe hou-
Miku immediately stands up and raises her voice.
Hatsune Miku: Shut! I wasn’t done explaining! So look. I also remember… going to a place to eat with him... I think it might’ve been the same place you and me went to eat at… And I remember him saying something… But I’m not sure what it was…
Miku tried to think as hard as she could, and after a while, Yuri began to speak up.
Yuri: Well? What did he say?
Miku continued to think for a long while, but she eventually gave up.
Hatsune Miku: I… I don’t remember what he said… I’m sorry…
Yuri: Don’t be… It’s ok if you don’t remember. Now it’s getting really late, and I’m feeling really tired now. If this really is a safe house, do you think there are any beds?
Hatsune Miku: Oh! That! Yeah, I’m sure!
Miku began to lead Yuri through a door that led to what seemed to be a makeshift bedroom. There was a single bed and what seemed to be a container that could perfectly fit Miku while she slept next to the bed.
Miku: I forgot to mention, actually. Unlike a normal android, I can actually recharge by going into a sort of “sleeping” mode, just like a human. Since I’m sure you’d feel pretty uncomfortable sleeping next to me, I guess I’ll just recharge inside the container over there.
Yuri: Yeah, I think I’d prefer that.
Yuri gets on the bed and lays on it while Miku opens the container, goes inside, and closes it. The container had a small window that showed her face
Hatsune Miku: I have a question to ask before we go to sleep.
Yuri: Yeah?
Hatsune Miku: Well… Do you love me now? Like, really love me?
Yuri doesn’t say a word for a long while, and after a moment of thinking, he finally speaks his answer.
Yuri: I can’t say that I love you in a romantical sense, but I also can’t say I hate you.
Hatsune Miku smiles warmly
Hatsune Miku: Goodnight, Yuri.
Yuri: ‘Night.
