The Executive is where the magic happens, and it is where all government programs, such as news, culture and integration is run from.
The Delegate heads the executive, and makes all decisions about the region as it relates to NationStates. They are commander-in-chief of the Eastern Pacific Sovereign Army and make all executive staffing decisions.
The Executive runs many programs and events, including hosting games, writing newspapers and managing our region's foreign affairs.
Anyone can join the executive. It is a great place to be mentored, contribute to the region and enjoy NS more. If you want to join the executive, join our Discord server and then go to #join-the-executive. Use command /exe-app and fill in the form.
You can join a variety of departments, including regional affairs's sub-departments (which manage internal projects like news and culture); foreign affairs and the Eastern Pacific Sovereign Army, where you can help maintain the East Pacific's strengths abroad while receiving valuable training. Someone will accept you into the relevant department!
The Executive is crucial to the East. It runs a lot of the infrastructure that TEPers rely on, such as REWARD and STEP, publishes and disseminates news and helps organize cultural events that the community can enjoy. The Executive also runs Foreign Affairs, making decisions about the direction of the region as a whole.
The head of the executive is the delegate, who is elected for a term of four months every February, June and October. The delegate can then appoint ministers, who make up the cabinet. They often advise the delegate or run a specific department, with a portfolio in mind. Any citizen can become a minister provided the delegate appoints them and they fill in some required (yet minimal) paperwork, however, delegates appoint based on merit and contribution.
If you do want to get started on your Eastern journey, joining the executive is a great place to start. Ministers and the Delegate are usually on hand to provide you with advice and assistance. Joining is a really simple four step process.
Firstly, if you haven't already, you should sign up to the East Pacific's main Discord, which can be found here.
Complete your onboarding by selecting the masks relevant to you. If you need help with this, please ping @Welcome Helper.
Go to the #join-the-executive channel and use the command /exe-app. This will prompt you to fill out a form with a list of all of the ministries and departments you can apply to. This STEP has a guide on what each ministry does.

It passes laws and amends laws that affect everyone in the region.

The Magisterium is the legislative branch. It debates and passes laws, ratifies treaties and declarations of war, and also confirms Arbiters and Viziers that have been nominated by the Delegate. The laws it passes and actions it makes affects everyone in the region.
The Magisterium works according to its own internal rules and regulations which are in a document titled "The Standing Orders of the Magisterium". This internal document handles how the Magisterium functions in admitting new members, removing members, voting, and who leads the Magisterium, how they are selected, and what powers they have.
The leader of the Magisterium is the Provost. They represent the Magisterium to the other branches of government and perform the business of updating legislation in the forums.
Joining the Magisterium is a common first step for people getting involved in the region. It gives you a voice on how the region should be managed. It is easy and simple to do.
