Mitsubichi Group
The Mitsubichi Group is a group of autonomous Yamaichi multinational companies in the automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding and energy industries.
The Mitsubichi Group is the largest corporation and employer in Yamaichi. The individual subsidiaries act largely independently of one another. Mitsubichi Group's net profit was approximately 1,2 billion Ɨ in fiscal year 2022.
The employees of the Mitsubichi Group companies identify very strongly with the company and usually work there for their entire life. Some particularly loyal employees even had their last names changed to "Mitsubichi." The name Mitsubichi means "secretly" and alludes to the company's beginnings, when many defense projects were still shrouded in secrecy. The logo represents the company's three pillars: automobiles, armaments and energy.
Mitsubichi Automotive
The cars from Mitsubichi Automotive are best known to the global public. The Mitsubichi Exo model in particular has become very popular worldwide. Mitsubichi offers a wide range of vehicles for private and commercial use. Numerous models are exported, but the strongest market remains the domestic market.
Mitsubichi Defense
Mitsubichi Defense is very important as the main supplier to the Royal Yamaichi Defense Forces (RYDF). Mitsubichi supplies all three branches of the Royal Yamaichi Defense Forces and produces aircraft and ships as well as tanks and other vehicles. Some models have also been approved for export by the government, most notably the F-15J.
Mitsubichi Defense's only civilian customer is the Royal Yamaichi Starfarer Agency (RYSA), for which several launch vehicles like the YIII "Hatamoto-Chi" have already been designed and built.
Mitsubichi Energy
Mitsubichi Energy operates offshore gas platforms and geothermal plants across the country and is the country's largest energy supplier. The company's goal is to switch to 70% renewable energy (geothermal energy, offshore wind farms, solar and hydropower) by 2035.
However, nuclear power remains an important part of the energy mix in Yamaichi. Mitsubichi operates all three nuclear power plants (Amaterasu I-III) in the country. Two more reactors are planned, but are still being controversially discussed.
