Progressive-LDP Coalition in the Works
After both the centre-left Joint Progressive Party List (JPPL) and the centre-right Liberal Democratic Party over-performed in last week’s election, a coalition of what will be the Coordinating Council’s two largest parties appears poised to take power. “We have been in serious talks with the Liberals, and we can confirm that a coalition is a possibility,” confirmed Ekabhi Prayam, the JPPL’s Deputy Leader. The possibility of a coalition between the two ideologically disparate parties was first broached when LDP Vyaparam Vedan unexpectedly toned down his free-market rhetoric before the original Autumnal Equinox Election.

Progressives Push for More Executive Posts
Nirtyam Am’mayi, leader of the centre-left Joint Progressive Party List, announced today that an expected Progressive minority or coalition government would likely include more more posts beyond the usual five (Leader, Deputy Leader, Economic, Home, and Foreign Affairs). “Many key policy areas do not fall under this limited list of competencies,” asserted Am’mayi, listing environmental protection, education, healthcare, and culture as possible new departments. All four areas currently fall under the purview of the Home Affairs Rapporteur.

Kathinists Protest Election Results
Members of the far-right Kathinist Progressive Party (KPP) staged a raucous protest against the results of last week’s election, claiming that they “won by a landslide, but the liberal establishment cheated [them] of a victory.” The official election results showed the party with less than 2% of the vote in each of the three constituencies they contested.

🟢 Progressive Party

For peace and progress!

The Mel-akkan Progressive Party has always fought for freedom, social justice, and inclusion. Like we freed our nation from the British, so too will we free all citizens from poverty, discrimination, and inequality. A vote for us is a vote for freedom, socialism, and most importantly, progress.
