Z-Day FAQ

Z-Day FAQ

Getting Started

What's happening?
As you may have noticed, some odd creatures have started making their appearance around residents of our peaceful region. They are not tourists. They are not aliens. They are not even new, technically speaking. They are our friends and family, who have been turned into zombies. That's right: there is a zombie pandemic! Check the

Have no fear! We have been forewarned of this development and have prepared for it. We know there is a cure - or at least that we can all research one. And the government of The North Pacific will dedicate all its resources towards finding it. We need your help in this effort!

How can our region prevail?

  • Focus all nations in the region on researching the cure, as quickly as possible. The more nations that research a cure, the faster we can reach it.

  • While researching, you and others can start to cure your fellow nations. Focus on keeping the number of survivors above the number of zombies. But do NOT cure all zombies or your progress will stop.

  • Once the region has completed research on the cure, the cure will automatically deploy throughout the region to cure the remaining zombies.

How do I help TNP reach the cure?
The very first thing you should do is start researching a cure. Here is how to do this:

  • Go to your nation's zombie controls.

  • Select Research cure.

  • Do so as soon as possible!

Why can I not move my nation to TNP?
Once the crisis starts, our region will be closed to immigration, to avoid bad actors from ruining our progress towards a cure. Once the crisis has ended, the border control will be removed and you will be able to enter freely once again.

Research the Cure

How can I reach the highest level (V) cure missiles?
Missiles will develop over time, and you will see progress at each ½ hour mark. The higher level missiles will take longer to develop. Please note, you NEED zombies for research purposes, so avoid asking for a “full cure to zero zombies” early on in the event. Depending on the event, you may also need to restart your research progress if it is reset to zero by the game. (see next question)

What happened to my choices/research progress?
In the past, different types of resets occurred at different time points, so you need to stay vigilant. Here are a few examples from previous years.

  • Everyone’s research choice was reset to no choice.

  • All research progress was returned to zero.

  • All dead were turned back into zombies (allows for more to be saved!)

Choosing No Cure

Remember, these zombies are our friends, family, and other loved ones! Only by working together toward the cure can we save their lives. There is only one feasible option: Research the cure!

What if I just want to embrace zombie hordes?
Exporting zombies without instructions from the Surgeon General may lead to your nation being kicked out the region for the duration of the crisis. Once the fight is over you will be able to return to the region.

I hate these zombies. Shouldn't I be killing them?
You should not select the option to exterminate the zombies. For one thing, doing so takes resources away from researching the cure, and therefore considerably delays when one will be found. Furthermore, zombies always increase at a much faster rate than you can exterminate them, so trying to kill them all is fighting a losing battle.

Change to cure! Switch your choice to “Research Cure” as soon as possible. Extermination is not helpful in our goal to cure the zombies.

A select few trusted nations that have a track record of following directions are selected by the Surgeon General to help eliminate rogue nations. If you are not part of this group, DO NOT EXPORT ZOMBIES.

What if you want to support the region with extermination or hoarding zombies? How can that work?
We can use a very LIMITED number of nations that will agree to follow directions from the Surgeon General for extermination and hoarding zombies. The region will coordinate these efforts on our Linkregional Discord channel.

What if I have been kicked out from the region?
The regional laws allow the Surgeon General to kick people from the region. HOWEVER, ejected citizens remain citizens until they cease to exist, return to the region and then depart of their own volition, or fail to post on the forum for over 30 consecutive days.

Firing Missiles

I have these cure missiles. Whom do I shoot?
At your nation's zombie controls, you will see after a little while that you have cure missiles available. You can launch them at some other nation by going to that nation's page and selecting the "Cure Missile" button at the bottom.

You should use your missiles to try to cure other nations who are also researching a cure! However, you should also make sure not to target nations actively using their own cure missiles, as doing so prevents them from launching any cure missiles for three minutes.

For more information on how missiles work, check out our Missile FAQ. For priority target lists for your cure missiles, go to our Target Lists page.

If target lists are based on my surviving population, does that mean that what target list I should use might change?
Yes. If you have a very high total population, the correct target list for you might change depending on how many of your citizens have become infected or have died. Your best bet is to ask to be cured so that you are in peak fighting shape, then start working off that team's list.

I want to do more to help!

How else can I help?
There are a few things you can do that will help our region.

  • Before the crisis starts, move in additional puppets to help research the cure. The more nations contributing to the research, the better.

  • We are coordinate our response from our Linkregional Discord channel, and there is always lots more to do. You are welcome to join us, and join the fun!

  • Pay attention to special events that might happen during the crisis. The quicker you are able to respond, the better.
