The absolute most awaited time of the year is here, as 2028 comes to a close we here at the Imperial have taken up the duty of crowning our "Man of the Year", a prestigious honor only granted to the most select few. This year there has been great competition for said award, between Gheneralent Ludendorff and the many politicians bidding for the parliament have left us plenty of options, yet, there can only be one man of the year.
After much consideration and debate, our specialists have chosen Willyas Herner Tinkre as the Imperial's Man of the Year for 2028! Mr. Tinkre is a very controversial figure in recent Markian politics, having come like a thunderstorm to the governmental scene, with his popularity rising seemingly over night. His policies of widespread anti-thorbianism, self reliance, strong central government and an upment of military budget made him immensely popular amongst the conservative block of the nation, and in a series of fiery speeches he has made several grandious promises to "Help fix the nation following the grave offence that was the Canaveral Diktat!"
Mr. Tinkre has gone left and right giving a wide range of interviews and public speeches throughout the nation, most famously with News Reporter Frinc Hagalessey for the Times in 2026. Mr. Tinkre's policies and seeming unmatched popularity upon the higher echelons of the country have won him a diverse myriad of supporters, yet only time will tell whether "Die Irenskanzzlër" will rise over all his opponents and acquire Chancellorship of the nation.

Engellus Aintkompf (1873-1944 †), Markos' greatest philosopher and writer of the XX century, had been subject to much critism for most of his life due to his reluctance to adapting his works to cinema. Aintkompf is widely considered to be one of the greatest thinkers in Markian history, and his philosophy of mutual acceptance, Markian unity and strength through solidarity, as well as his interpretation of religious teachings and his participation in the Council of Jazmira earned him great popularity amongst most of the Markian populace.
Ever since his death, his novels, books, paintings and teachings have been reimagined and interpreted in a myriad of different mediums, yet one has always been cut short of it; cinema. The Aintkompf Children Non-Profit Organisation has vehemently opposed any attempts at bringing Mr. Aintkompf's works to the big screen, with grandson of Engellus Aintkompf and Spokesman of the Organisation Jegal Aintkompf stating in multiple occasions "It was always my grandfather's wishes for his work to remain simply as literature. Nothing more. I will honor that wish to the best of my abilities."
For this, Mr. Jegal Aintkompf has received numerous critism with many stating that he was quote "Denying the right of markians globally to employ the scripts of one of the greatest geniuses of our culture." To this, the central government of the Empire had mostly remained unresponsive. But it seems their undecisiveness has come to an end, as a 2028 Bill meant to transform many of Aintkompf's Works into "Markian Heritage", which would in turn make it so that all markians held the right to use them as they may see fit.
This, whilst widely celebrated throughout most of the Empire, has seen tremendous backlash amongst the Krádan Populace, as Mr. Aintkompf was not in fact Markian but a Krádanite. Krádans globally are now protesting against the bill, stating it is just "Another form of Markian oppresion of our people!" and that "They're now trying to even take away our thinkers! This is outrageous!"
It begs to see exactly what will be the consecuences of this act, however the government seems to remain solid in their path towards "Krádan-Markian Unity."

The General Assembly of Economists and Businessmen of Markos gathered last month to discuss and give council around the current state of the economy. In their preliminary hearing, many of the specialists voiced their extreme satisfaction upon seeing the economy of the nation in an upswing, great investments were performed in the past couple of months to ensure that several previously halted economic plans be reinstated. Following the "New Markos" doctrine, the face of the nation has been fundamentally changed, streets are now cleaner, brighter and prettier than ever before, as well, new "SAFE" Districts (Simple and Affordable For Everyone), which have as intent to ensure that everyone, even the poorest few of Markians, have access to decent and simple housing.
SAFE Districts are mostly comprised of Class 5 - 7 Apartment blocks in sprawling arcologies focused on integrating vertical architecture to ensure that as many people can be housed as possible. SAFE Districts also come with integrated roads, train networks, subways, amongst many other forms of transportation to ensure the people can safely and efficiently reach their work sites. SAFE District Housing is only granted to citizens willing to work in all sorts of government run operations, from mining to farming, and are effectively small cities of their own. SAFE Districts have begun to sprung out all across the country, most prominently in the Central Highlands to serve as Miner Towns for the many millions working in there.
Furthermore, the General Assembly found that in many parts of the country, most prominently Adytalia, unemployement has seen a sharp decrease. Thanks to the large infrastructural programs and megastructures being built, thousands upon thousands of previously unemployed citizens are finding jobs in the construction industry. As well, the opening of the Largest Industrial Park in all of Talonia promises to bring several tens of thousands of jobs too in several key industries of the nation, which will certainly help the economy get boosted even further. As well, with the modernisation of ports across the newly renamed Dergosia (Formerly Eldenkirk) will also lead to more jobs and an upswing to the economy of the nation.
The General Assembly is more than satisfied by this developments and they predict a massive economic boom for the 2030's era that will hopefully lead our nation towards a golden age.

In a surprising move, Thorbia, an old friend whome had betrayed our trust, has decided to show us kindness once more by returning a large swathe of Adytalia in exchange for a formalised friendship treaty between our nations, the Empire's abstention from interveening in Usea, amongst some other elements. Experts were more than surprised at the turn of events, since many in the Empire believed that the only possible resolution to the conflict would've been a war between the two superpowers, but it seems that the Thorbians have heeded sense and decided to seek what many consider "The only possible peaceful solution to the situation."
Troops have reentered much of Adytalia, all the way to Galloway which celebrated by throwing a large parade and festivity for their returnal to the Empire. Whilst it begs to see exactly what will happen with the rest of Thorbian Controlled Adytalia, this has certainly been a more than welcomed developed and our brothers and sisters being returned to the fold will always be a more than welcomed sight. Galloways as such has been reintegrated economically into the nation, with money being spent so that another transcontinental highway be constructed from Galloway to Dergosia.
The Emperor himself has commended this action by part of Thorbia, celebrating the fact that Adytalians, Roheauns and Gallisians are once again reunited, stating "This is a more than monumental time in Markian-Thorbian relationships, we're honorable people and we do not forget those whome wrong us easily, but we also do not forget those whome aid us easily. This will certainly be the cornerstone towards the normalisation of relationships between our two nations, that will hopefully push us both to be greater than ever before!"

Following an independent research by an elphonsian research institute from the city of Tuskington, it has been discovered that the illness previously known as Childpox is but an extremely rare genetic defect that seems to be affecting a small portion of the population in the Empire. However, this has just raised more and more doubts, seeing how no children outside of the Empire have been faced by this weird affliction.
The study has initiated further research, however, many in the Empire and abroad lay puzzled by this. It is worth noting that no Empire runned research facilities have begun testing, despite the Empire being the only nation in the world currently facing Childpox.
Some theorize that this might be correlated to the recent rumors of human experiments in children being runned by the military, or the mysterious "Project Schoffer" from which we still know next to nothing about. The King himself as well as the Blue Palace have completely refused to make commentaries in the matter, continuing to deny the existance of any sort of human experiments ongoing in the nation.
Workers in the large steel mills throughout the nation also report having to mold mysterious armor pieces made out of a currently unknown alloy, though this are believed to be unsubstantiated rumors.
