The Doecher Cæserric (Deutsches Reich) is a global superpower mainly located in Europe. It is a federative empire comprising 20 states, fourteen overseas territories, and four client states. Considered the most powerful nation in Europe, Doechland is a leading member of the European Bound and is the head of the Reichspakt, a former military alliance that in modern times has evolved into a league of former Doechen client states and colonies, united together by a shared desire for democracy and human rights.

Doechland is a member of the G8, OFN, and Foroned Nations, with it being a permanent member of the Foroned Nations Security Witan. It is considered the closest ally of the Foroned States, and is one of the world's largest economies. It is a highly advanced nation, and is a global leader in nuclear energy. A constitutional monarchy, the current Kaiser is Wilhelm V, who has reigned since 2003. The current Chancellor is Erwin Wolf of the Fatherland Party, who was elected in 2021.

Doechland ranks only slightly behind America in terms of human rights, quality of life, and advancement. It is the first country in the world to be ran solely off nuclear energy, and it boasts only the second dedicated Space Force in the world. Germany also holds one of the OFN's three capitals, and it is considered the de facto leading member of the EL, so much so that the German Chancellor is usually considered the League's unofficial leader.

History

Prussian victory in the Franco-Prussian War would lead to the unification of the German states under one united empire. The German Empire established itself in Africa and Asia, always rivaling the other powers of Europe, and always desiring to overthrow them. Under Wilhelm I, Germany became a great power. The leadership of Chancellor Otto Von Bismarck helped to solidify this, with Bismarck devising the first "conservative socialist" or state socialist plan in the world to keep the support of the workers.

Under Bismarck, Germany annexed the Alsace-Lorraine and built an overseas empire, though Bismarck himself was hesitant to colonize, believing it to be a waste of resources. In 1888, Kaiser Wilhelm died, and was replaced by his son, Friedrich III. Surviving an illness, Kaiser Friedrich began the task of liberalizing the Empire, though he worked well with the conservative Bismarck. Under Friedrich, Germany built a close relationship with Great Britain and the United States, while relations with its continental neighbors, such as France and Austria, stayed tense.

In 1903, Friedrich died, making his son Wilhelm II Kaiser. Kaiser Wilhelm II was much less of a leader than his father, and his politics and ruling style differed greatly. Despite this, Wilhelm tolerated his father's reforms and managed to not harm relations with London or Washington.

Politics

The German government functions as a federal constitutional monarchy, with the Kaiser's powers limited to mostly ceremonial duties. The head of government is the Chancellor, who is elected by the Reichstag. The German parliament is divided into two chambers: the Bundesrat and Reichstag. The Bundesrat (Federal Council) represents the states themselves, with Senators being appointed by state governments.

The Reichstag (Imperial Diet) is the lower house. Members are directly elected by the citizens. Elections are held every four years, though they may be called earlier. The Reichstag elects the Chancellor and has power over the government's budget. The incumbent Chancellor is Erwin Wolf, who was elected in 2021, succeeding Angela Merkle.

Politically, Germany is a de facto two-party system dominated by the Fatherland Party and Social Democrats. Other important parties include the Liberal Democrats, Bavarian Party, The Left, Greens, and New Freedom Party.
