Sjevre.Sjevre, has been confirmed as the Foreign Secretary Vladimir Usjkov.Usjkov already has a large sphere of influence and immense popularity within the party, so his victory was not widely regarded as surprising.
Julia Viktorov (the current mayor of the city of Pärnu) came second.
Viktorov was almost unknown outside of Pärnu until she ran for leader of the Utega Party.
Her rapid rise in popularity within her party was not expected by many.
One Sjevrean newspaper went as far as to call her the "moral winner" and the "real winner" of the race - they noted that even though she technically lost, she was now being seriously considered for a role in the new administration's cabinet, which would have been unthinkable for her just a few weeks ago.
Another candidate who did well was current Deputy Prime Minister Johan Adomaitis.
Adomaitis and Viktorov are currently being considered for the roles of Home Secretary and Foreign Secretary - it is not currently known which one will fill which role, however.
Vantier has completely removed all health and safety rules for scientific researchers and the like.
All scientific ethics committes have been completely banned, as the Vantierian government claims they are getting in the way of progress and innovation.
The new legislation is extremely controversial, but it is unlikely that the government of Vantier will listen to the criticism.
Diplomatic meeting in Glory Be Ferret
Delegates from Sjevre and Oruzia have arrived in 
Glory Be Ferret (GBF) for a diplomatic meeting between Sjevre, GBF and 
Oruzia.
Potenzian parliament votes against cannibalism legalisation
The Parliament of Potenzia has voted not to legalise cannibalism.
Continental Union sends troops into destabilised regions
The Continental Union has sent troops into destabilised regions of North America to attempt to stabilise them.
They have not met any significant resistance.
