[TEST] Welcome to the South Pacific! (Click here if you’re new!)
NationStates is a game about running your own country. But did you also know that it's also a multiplayer game? In NationStates, every nation resides in a region, a community of nations. Together with their region, NationStates players like yourself can look beyond their borders to other ways to get involved: regional government, military gameplay, roleplay, chatting with fellow players, and more!
All new nations start in one of five regions, and if you're reading this, that means your nation is in the region of the South Pacific. What does our region offer and how is it special? Well, the South Pacific is the oldest democracy on NationStates that still exists today, running since 2003! You can help shape the legal framework of the region by voting on our leaders and drafting our laws, gain the training to defend other regions and communities all across NationStates from attack, or build up the lore of your nation in our roleplay community. No matter what you're interested in (or even if you're not sure!), we're sure there's something for you. The choice is yours: what are you interested in?
If you have questions at any point, feel free to join our regional forums or
Discord server to chat with other members of our community. We'd be happy to help you!
So, if you want to dip your toes into the multiplayer part of the game, click the link(s) that look interesting to you:
Strengthening the region To help make our region more secure and give your nation a bigger voice on international (and interregional) law, please join the World Assembly and then endorse our Delegate, {{ gov_officials.delegate|nation }}, and members of our Coral Guard, who help keep our region safe: {{ gov_officials.spcg|gen_personnel_list(print_format='{nation}') }}. Voting in elections Our government officials include the members of the Cabinet and the Delegate. Our Cabinet is in charge of things like regional events, orienting new players (like you!) with our region, and diplomacy with other regions. Our Delegate is the person in our region with the most endorsements and serves as our head of state. To vote for the Delegate or for ministers of the Cabinet, you'll need to become a legislator (a member of the Assembly, our law-making body). To become a legislator and join the Assembly, simply Roleplay Many NationStates players enjoy roleplay, where you get to build up the lore of your country and its people with other players. If you're looking to write stories about your nation or simulate trade relations or even war, then roleplay is for you! To join our roleplay community, simply Growing our regional community The many ways to get involved in our regional community include helping to grow it! If you're interested in hosting online events and festivals, then the Ministry of Culture is for you! And if you want to help grow the community by welcoming new players, consider the Ministry of Engagement. To apply to either ministry, simply |
Making laws Our Assembly is the legislative branch of our regional government. It makes laws about topics such as the rights of residents of our region, our foreign policy towards other regions, and the way our regional officer powers are allocated. If you're looking for political gameplay with other players, then the Assembly is for you! To become a legislator and join the Assembly, simply Joining the military NationStates doesn't have any built-in war mechanic, but it still does have military gameplay — with regions. The South Pacific is a defender region, which means we protect innocent regions from the military forces that try to take them over simply because they enjoy it. If you want to protect innocent regions from attack, or are just looking for something a little faster-paced, then our military is for you! To enlist in our regional military, the South Pacific Special Forces, simply Diplomacy with other regions Like our region, many other regions also have their own governments. Like governments in the real world, NationStates governments also have foreign relations! They can negotiate treaties, send ambassadors, and yes, sometimes, they don't get along. If you want to build relations with our friends and allies, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is for you! To apply to join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, simply
