Samuel de Collin | WIP | The Progressives | The Evergreen Union (Progressives, Labor, Green, Pirate, Liberal Progress, Syndicalist) |
Samuel de Collin is the incumbent President of Verdelia, and is seeking re-election to a second term of the presidency. He was elected in 2019, defeating [name tbd+party tbd] and taking up the position as leader of the Progressives and the Evergreen Union after preceding president [Name TBD] declined to seek re-election to another term. De Collin’s term has been thus far been considered generally stable and has polled well, characterized by an overall continuation and expansion of Progressive-Evergreen policies, particularly in the realm of cultural progressivism. His campaign has characterized De Collin as a popular, unifying figure with little controversy, calling on voters to choose “four more years of excellence”. With themes of progressivism and economic democracy and equality, De Collin and his campaign are left-wing and he is considered a “typical Evergreen candidate”. |
Antuan Bato | WIP | National Community | WIP/TBD |
Antuan Bato is the current leader of the National Community Party, with his platform being characterized by themes of “democracy, moderation, pragmatism, and anti-extremism”. His campaign has characterized opponents, such as the Evergreens and especially the National Unity Front, as “radical populist parties,” promoting Bato as a solution to such polarization and populism. Bato has served as a member of congress in the past, starting his career as an assemblymember and later on being elected as a senator. As a longtime member of the National Community Party, he has been characterized as seeking both a strong welfare state as well as policies that encourages healthy development in the private sector. At this stage in the election he is considered the opposition candidate most likely to advance to the second round, though the competitive environment among opposition parties does not necessarily guarantee it. |
