On Borgersteinvillian Conscription.

Borgensteineville is commonly known for it's compulsory military service, as soon as a Borgensteinvillian citizens reach the age of 18 it is mandatory they perform 2 years in the military. They may choose when this military service is performed, but at the age of 30 we will no longer ask. There are a few exceptions however, if someone is to immigrate into Borgensteinville, service will not be mandatory as long as they are over the age of 18 at the time of immigration. Disabled citizens that have a disability, mental or physical, that would make it difficult/impossible to participate is such service will not be required nor expected to. Also, if someone under the age of 30 manages to secure a government role before they complete their service will not be required to do military service.
If someone decides to go to college, and stays in college until over the age of 30, the time they spent in college will count as military service. Criminals who have not performed service, either because they just turned 18, or because they chose not to and are under 30, will be turned over to the military as soon as eligible. A fee may also be payed to get out of the mandatory conscription, the fee is a base fee of $2000 dollars, and an extra $500 dollars every year following until 30. A person in the military due to conscription can and will be court marshaled if necessary, if they are court marshaled than the remaining years of their military service shall be spent in jail.
